Square Enix Scraps Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Pre-Order Program
Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal announced today that they have cancelled the "Augment Your Pre-Order" program for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. This is a good move from the companies after fans were very vocal about how stupid the entire idea was.
Initially conceived as a reward to players by allowing them to choose their own content (mirroring one of Deus Ex’s core gameplay pillars), the promotion was negatively viewed by the community. Having watched, read, and listened to feedback,... -

Frictional Games Talks SOMA, Sales Figures, and the Future
First up, let's dive into how Frictional Games provided fans with a quick post-launch report on SOMA. In just 10 days, SOMA sold about 92,000 copies across every platform (PC and PlayStation 4). They say that just those number of sales will allow the company to pay their expenses for another two years. Sales have leveled out to be around 2,000 copies per day. Frictional Games even breaks down how that compares to their previous titles.
How does this compare to our other releases?... -

Former Activision Developers Announce New Studio and New Game - Icon: Disc Jam
Icon: Disc Jam is the newly announced title from former "AAA developers" that have worked on franchises such as Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, and Tony Hawk. The studio, High Horse Entertainment, is making Icon: Disc Jam on Unreal Engine 4.
It essentially appears to be a modern take on Windjammers and this makes me quite happy.

Free PlayStation Plus Games for October 2015 are More Indie Games Nobody Ever Heard of Before
The free PlayStation Plus games for October 2015 were announced by Sony today. As usual, the folks at Sony totally didn't offer up full, $50-$60 retail games for those that pay roughly $4 per month. Pfft, how lame! Seriously, whomever heard of this Super Meat Boy game? And Broken Age? What hole in the wall studio did that crawl out of?
Look at these totally unknown Indie games that nobody has ever heard of before.
...- Super Meat Boy: PS4, PS Vita
- Broken Age: PS4, PS

Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition Departs in October
If you have PlayStation Plus and didn't grab the PS+ version of Driveclub, you should do so before October 6. On that date, it will go away forever but the paid version will still be around. According to Sony, the free version of the game will no longer be available. Why? I don't know. People are inexplicably upset over this for reasons that baffle and confuse me. It was not the full version of the game that was available for free, only the (often delayed) stripped down PlayStation Plus v... -

GameStop CEO Says Disc-based Games Will be Around Forever; Company Plans for the Future of VR
The CEO of GameStop, Paul Raines, says that disc-based games "will be around forever."
“Disc-based games will be around forever,” he says. “The market has seen physical music sales down 50% from its peak and physical movie sales down 60% from its peak, but even in a doomsday scenario, disc-based games will be around for a long time. I see a complimentary business where we sell discs plus download like the current console mode. Virtual reality games will also likely follow this... -

Trying to Scratch that MMO Itch? Try The Secret World
MMO’s have always been there for me ever since I gave a shot at EverQuest way back in the day. Throughout the years, I’ve gone on to countless different additions from SWG to Warhammer Online. I’ve played dozens of free MMO’s (and even made a small website dedicated to them for a while).
There’s something about an MMO where you seem to get an “itch”. You start a new one with your buddies, someone begins to out level, and then there’s a loss of interest so onward you... -

by Shawn ZipayIt's AAAA vs WB.
March isn't even over yet and we've already seen a couple of stinkers come out from major gaming studios. While we tend to focus on the surprise hits or quality titles in these polls, this time it's a little bit different.
