Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

Sierra Returns with New King's Quest and... Geometry Wars 3?

Activision's plans for the return of Sierra are both sensible and completely out of left field. It was revealed today that the undead studio will be working on publishing a new King's Quest game! That's the sensible news.

The weird news is that the studio will also be working on publishing Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions.

The Odd Gentlemen, the studio behind The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom will be the development studio working on the new King's Quest title. It will be a fully reimagined take on the original series. The new King's Quest is slated for a vague 2015 release on Xbox Live, PlayStation...

Rise of the Tomb Raider is Exclusive to Xbox One

Square Enix just got paid. During today's gamescom 2014 media briefing, it was revealed that the next main entry in the Tomb Raider franchise, Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be exclusive to the Xbox One.

From the sounds of things, this doesn't seem like a timed exclusive. This doesn't sound like it's exclusive just between the Xbox and PlayStation. This sounds like it's exclusive, period. This means that the PC won't be getting the game either.

Valve May Soon Add Film, TV Series, Video, and More to Steam Catalog

Yesterday, Steam Database discovered a few new additions that snuck their way into the latest Steam beta client update. Those additions seem to point towards some new media types that could be added to the Steam Store or your Steam catalog at some point in the near future.

If true, it will be very interesting to see what Valve will bring to the table. Will these offerings be solely for games and game related content or will they branch out to take on competitors such as Hulu, Netflix, iTunes, and Amazon? It's also very curious what is meant with the "plugin" entry there. Plugins for the Steam c...
