New 'Experimental' Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft CEO

Open World? GAAS? Mobile? VR?

The emotional rollercoaster that fans of the Splinter Cell series has been on for the past few years has been never ending, has had no chill, and frankly, it's gotten to be a wee bit tiresome. In May of this year, a new Splinter Cell was apparently "confirmed" and then it was later revealed to just be a joke.

Last month, we again heard a rumor that a new Splinter Cell was actually in the works. However, that story from July says that Facebook is financing the game and that it will be a VR only title and exclusive to the Oculus...

Mojang Cancels 'Super Duper Graphics Pack' for Minecraft

Performance issues and engine difficulties were too much to overcome.

Sadly, Mojang announced today that they are cancelling the promised Super Duper Graphics Pack that was originally revealed at E3 2017. This visual overhaul was teased for the game during the annual industry trade show and fans were eager to check it out for themselves.

This was going to be an optional piece of DLC that brought a suite of visual improvements to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game without needing to mod it. Sure, a lot of the visual improvements have been done time and time again...

Call of Duty 2020 Rumored to Be Black Ops Reboot

Next stop: Reboot City.

This year, Call of Duty fans are getting a reboot of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. Next year, fans may get a reboot of the Black Ops series. This is if the latest rumors are to be believed.

The 2020 Call of Duty will either be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game will be set in the Cold War era and will also include the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

This all comes courtesy of YouTuber TheLongSensation via his Twitter account. While it may be easy to just write this off as some random person...

No Man's Sky Beyond Launch Trailer

Update arrives August 14.

A launch trailer for the massive Beyond update for No Man's Sky was released today by Hello Games. This update is said to be the "culmination of 12 months of work" on what was originally going to be three separate, large updates. Those three updates have been rolled into this massive update.

We already touched upon some of the new features and content coming to the game in our last post. The biggest addition, at least for PC and PlayStation VR owners, is the addition of full VR support for No Man's Sky. There are also some additional...

Solos Finally Coming to Apex Legends

But only for a limited time.

Apex Legends will finally allow introverts to play without worry starting on August 13. A Solos Mode will be introduced into the F2P battle royale game. So far, the game has only really allowed for three-man squads.

The addition of Solos Mode is the good news. The bad news is that this mode will only be added to the game for a limited time. This Solos Mode will run from August 13 through August 27 in Apex Legends. Best get your fill of it while you can, because who knows when or if it will come back afterwards. ...

  • Phil Spencer Again Says that Rare is an Important Part of the Future of Xbox

Phil Spencer has once again remarked that Rare will be super important to the future of Xbox. This is despite the company being nothing more than a shell of its former self and pumping out Kinect titles.
"Right now with Rare we're at a point where I don't want the Rare brand to mean Kinect Sports. The Rare brand can be more valuable to them, to us and to gamers than that. "I think it's about them thinking about the next game that's going to be the next 'Rare game' and really stand for what they are. I know they've got some great ideas. I've not been up to Twycross for maybe six months, but I'm planning on getting up there th

  • Payday Developer Working on Walking Dead FPS

Payday Developer Working on Walking Dead FPS

Overkill Software, the studio behind the popular Payday series, has revealed that they are working on a new game for The Walking Dead. Slated for release in 2016, Overkill's The Walking Dead will be a first-person co-op shooter with survival horror, stealth, and RPG elements.

That is to say, it will be like Payday but in The Walking Dead. Which is probably a bit like Overkill's take on Left 4 Dead given the similarities between Payday and Left 4 Dead already.

Fans are a bit upset and what they claim is a "bait and switch" as many believed that this big build up was for new Payday 2 content or maybe a new Payday game...

Microsoft Finally Admits that Rise of the Tomb Raider is a Timed Exclusive

Microsoft really needs to lay off of using the word "exclusive" when they continue to pull stunts like this. It was a phrasing that drew a ton of controversy and anger from gamers all over that felt like Microsoft was paying to eliminate competition and that Square Enix turned their back on long time fans.

Earlier today Phil Spencer finally admitted that the "exclusive" release of the new Rise of the Tomb Raider is only a timed exclusive for the Xbox platform. Unfortunately, he still did not reveal just how long of a timed exclusive it would be. Here is what he said to Eurogamer.
"When people want me to say, can you tell us when or if it's coming to other platforms, it's not

According to a little leak by the Konami Europe site, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be coming to the PC and Steam.

Interestingly, the main page clearly shows the headline of TPP and GZ coming to Steam but clicking on them results in a page not found message. Meaning, it is probably in your best interest to stay tuned to the upcoming live stream. You know, the one that begins in about 15 minutes from now? Chances are the news and details will be officially revealed there....
