Discord Distances Itself from Gaming

Discord is now your place to talk.

Discord was built upon the idea of bringing gamers of all types together. It's certainly a big factor that prompted my friends and I to make the move to Discord from TeamSpeak and Ventrilo however long ago it's been now. We were a group of friends that played a lot of games together. We didn't like the quality of the service we were paying monthly for from the alternatives and decided to give Discord a try. We never looked back.

That...

Cyberpunk 2077 New Trailer Revealed - 'The Gig'

A new trailer showcasing new footage, characters, and story.

Today, CD Projekt Red lifted the lid on a whole lot of new media and impressions for Cyberpunk 2077. A number of outlets have shared their first-hand experiences with a vertical slice of the game based on being able to play it for the past week or two now. Lucky SOBs, I'll tell you what. This all came together today in the release of those impressions to the web alongside a brand new official trailer from CD Projekt Red themselves....

Mixer is Shutting Down

Microsoft is pulling the plug on their streaming platform.

On July 22, Microsoft will officially close down their streaming service, Mixer, for good. The plan is to instead move all of its existing partners over to Facebook Gaming. This rather sudden announcement means that Mixer partners and streamers will be moving to Facebook Gaming beginning today.

According to The Verge, Microsoft "has struggled to reach the scale needed to Mixer to compete with Twitch, YouTube,...

Review: Disintegration

A terribly underwhelming take on the sci-fi FPS genre.

Disintegration, the debut title from V1 Interactive, places players in the shoes of Romer Shoal. Shoal was a former celebrity robot turned outlaw that leads a group of other current outlaws to take down the evil Rayonne. This is done through a lot of vehicle focused combat and some great character designs, but a terrible story with some surprisingly shallow gameplay. Though the game aims to become a real genre defining moment for...

Review: Maneater

A fun, albeit shallow, gameplay experience.

Maneater is one of those titles that is just the right amount of dumb fun. It pushes the dumb just far enough that you are not overly concerned with its obvious shortcomings. I suppose that any game that places you in the fins of a growing, angry as hell bull shark that can mutate and grow. These mutations provide your shark with gain special abilities is not a game that would ever take itself too seriously.

Maneater is a game...

Visceral Games responded to a simple question on Twitter earlier that inquired about what resolution Battlefield Hardline would run at on the current consoles. The answer really shouldn't be too surprising to you. That's right, Hardline will be 720p on the Xbox One and 900p on the PlayStation 4....

Apparently, Sony has started up a closed beta for firmware updates on the PlayStation 4. And apparently, despite people being sworn to secrecy due to signing an NDA, some information on the next update has indeed started to leak. What then can we expect in the rumored 2.50 firmware update for the PlayStation 4? Well...

That's right. If that screenshot is legitimate, it looks like 2.50 will allow users to remap every button on their DualShock 4 controllers on a system leve...

New Co-op and PvP Details Revealed for Bloodborne

Along with a few new screenshots, some fresh details emerged today from the Japanese Bloodborne about what fans can expect for the co-op and PvP aspects of the game. Now, the list may be a bit off given errors in translating.
    - Co-op is still the same as in the network alpha, hosts use a Lulling Bell to request help and the game automatically matches them to a helper who has used the Small Resonant Bell (there are no summon signs in Bloodborne) - Co-op ends when a boss is defeated or th

  • Exclusive: More Cities: Skylines Hands-On Gameplay - Unlimited Money and All Buildings Mods Used

Cities: Skylines is embracing the mod scene in a big way, even going so far as to offer up Steam Workshop support. Right now, there isn't too much in the way of custom content but that probably stands to reason because the game isn't out yet until the 10th. However, there are a few mods out there that I was able to test out last night. I believe these were added by the developer, Colossal Order. The ones used allow me to have unlimited funds while another unlocks all of the non-special buildings. ...

  • Three Hours of Cities: Skylines Gameplay

Three Hours of Cities: Skylines Gameplay

I played Cities: Skylines today. I played that game for three hours straight for the first time ever. I streamed it live on the Internet for all to view and if you missed it, you're in luck because you can watch all three hours right now. Now, the audio mix is completely screwed up for at least the first hour. Since I had to upload to YouTube directly from Twitch, the usual editing and attempts at quality control on my videos are not in place. With that said, here's unedited gameplay for t...

Valve Offers up Steam Store Pages for Steam Machines

Valve has opened up an apparent one stop shop location for all things Steam Machines. Over at the Steam storefront, you can now take a look at the various offerings a variety of vendors have put together under the "Steam Machines" umbrella. Perhaps you are interested in the offerings that won't cost an arm and a leg, such as the iBuyPower SBX starting at $459.99 (USD). Or maybe you want to go hog wild and plunk down $5,000 on the top of the line offering from Falcon Northwest and their T...

Rock Band 4 Announced for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

If you owned any of the previous Rock Band games, it might be time to pull those plastic instruments out of the closet and dust them off because Rock Band 4 was just announced. Yes, the famous franchise from Harmonix is coming back and this time it's coming only to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

  • A Short Video from Valve's Portal VR Demo

A Short Video from Valve's Portal VR Demo

Maximum PC took some footage from a portion of Valve's talk on virtual reality. During the talk, they showed off a short "Aperture Science VR Demo." It's important to note here that while we believe this is running on Source 2 (the lighting could be a big sign of this), it was not specifically announced as running on Source 2.

Even if it wasn't Source 2, the fact that it's VIRTUAL REALITY should be awesome enough for anybody!...
