Review: Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

15 years and a fresh coat of paint later.

Almost 15 years to the day that the original Age of Empires III was released comes the remastered Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Love it or hate it, the original certainly left an impression on fans of the franchise. I am not saying all those impressions were necessarily good, but they were impressions none the less.

What we have here is a remastering of one of the more divisive Age of Empires games released. Upon first...

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Delayed

Pre-patch also pushed out to October 13.

Blizzard just said that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the next major expansion for their still popular MMORPG, has been delayed. It has been pushed back now until "later this year" with a solid release date not yet revealed. As is typical for these sorts of delays, the delay was an "incredibly difficult decision for the team" but they ultimately feel as though it was the "right decision for the game--and for (the)...

Review: Crysis Remastered Is One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Maximum meh.

In 2007 the original Crysis was released for the PC. The big question on everyone's mind at the time, and even through to today, is "can your PC run Crysis?" Usually, the answer was "yes, but…" because even the beefiest of computer hardware had trouble maxing out the graphical options that Crysis brought to the table at the time.

Fast-forward to 2020 and the answer gets a bit more muddled. See, the original Crysis was very dependent on...

Bethesda Accidentally Announces Dishonored 2 ... Maybe

Tomorrow, Bethesda will hold their E3 2015 conference. Today, they were practicing. It just so happens that they accidentally went live on Twitch while practicing. Meaning that everything they were saying could be heard by all.

That includes them rehearsing for a special game announcement. Now, while the game was never specifically said, it was believed to be a rehearsal for a reveal for Dishonored 2. The two main voices that can be heard are Harvey Smith, the Co-Director on...

Dota 2 Reborn Beta - Dota 2 is Now on Source 2

Tonight's launch of Dota 2 Reborn beta brings with it a wealth of new changes to the game. First and foremost is the fact that the game is now running on the latest version of the Source Engine. I don't even know where to begin with the other new things for this update. Valve talks about a new dashboard for the game. They literally rebuilt it from scratch to make it "more intuitive and easier to use." The "Play Dota" button is always visible on every page in the new interface. They also ...

  • Oculus and Microsoft Announce Partnership - Xbox One Controller Bundled and Xbox One Streaming

This partnership will see every Oculus Rift ship with a wireless Xbox One controller.

Instead of shipping with appropriate motion controls like the Vive from Valve and HTC seem to be doing with their dev kits, Oculus instead decided to partner with Microsoft to ship every Rift with a wireless Xbox One controller.

Microsoft's Phil Spencer took to the stage during today's ongoing Oculus conference to make the announcement.

Two new important armies are joining the battle in Toy Soldiers: War Chest by Ubisoft. Those armies are He-Man and G.I. Joe. I know, right! Look for the game this Summer on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Toy Soldiers: War Chest Hall of Fame edition brings to life four additional nostalgic action figures that allow players to recreate imaginative battles using their favourite childhood heroes. Energised by the power of Grayskull, the Masters of the Universe army is led by

  • Overwatch Leaves Beta in Latest Update to CS:GO - June 10, 2015

Overwatch Leaves Beta in Latest Update to CS:GO - June 10, 2015

Tonight's update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is small in size but huge in impact. Among the many changes, the big ones are the news that Overwatch is no longer in beta, new ranks (up to Rank 40), and the fact that you must now hit Rank 3 in order to play Competitive Matchmaking. There is now even a way to "prestige" (sort of) once you hit Global General Rank (Rank 40). More on that below the changelog.

Mike Bithell's Volume Launching on August 18

Volume is a stealth game about not being heard (usually).
Locksley does not kill. That would be far too easy. Instead, he commits his crimes through stealth. He sneaks, he distracts, he avoids. He is never seen, and seldom heard. As he grows in popularity and notoriety, so will his inventory. Blackjacks, bugles, thunderclaps and veils are just some of the tools at Locksley's disposal.
Volume is slated to have "a hundred challenging and exciting environments" that can be "remixed...
