Desert Bus for Hope 2019 Charity Event Underway

Better late than never.

We're just a few days late in sharing this news with you, but when it comes to charity: Better late than never, right?

The latest annual charity drive (get it?) that is Desert Bus for Hope is well underway. A group of people have already spent three days driving across the desert, in real time, in an effort to raise money for charity. In three days and 6 hours, the crew has already raised over $388,400 for the Child's Play charity. The team is still going strong after all this time.

For those that don't know,...

Google Stadia Launch Games are Lacking

Stadia comes out of the gate already limping.

With the soft launch of Google Stadia rapidly approaching, it seems like we're beyond due for a look at the platform's launch lineup. Hell, we're probably beyond due for a look at the Stadia UI and full featureset, but that is another matter entirely.

Today, Google revealed a list of 12 games that will serve as the launch titles for when Stadia has a soft launch on November 19. For $130, you were able to get in on the ground floor of the launch of Stadia with the Founder's Edition. These kits have...

EA Working on Cross-Save and Progression Sharing Between Steam and Origin

Seems EA is serious about this return to Steam.

With the recent announcement that EA was making a return to Steam, a number of questions remained unanswered. A couple of those questions focused on whether or not there would be support for things like cross-save or even cross-progression between EA's own Origin platform and Steam.

Fortunately, we have a few promising answers today. Most developers don't like to split their communities and EA is no exception. It seems they are working to get Origin to work similar to how Ubisoft's Uplay works with...

Diablo 4 is Always Online and Includes Microtransactions

This is the Diablo you pictured, right?

Yesterday, Blizzard took time away from appeasing China to kick off their two day BlizzCon event for 2019. One of yesterday's big reveals was the announcement that Diablo 4 is coming. What they didn't share in their reveal announcement to the public is the fact that Diablo 4 will require an online connection.

Not only that, but Diablo 4 will include microtransactions. Of course, all of this has a chance to change over the course of development, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Speaking of development,...

Diablo 4 Officially Announced - First Details, Screens, and More

The franchise returns to its dark roots.

Another unsurprising reveal at this year's BlizzCon was the announcement of Diablo IV. The sequel to the colorful action-RPG that is Diablo III promises to tone back the color gamut a wee bit, with hopes of appeasing fans of Diablo II.

As with the other reveals made today, Diablo IV does not yet have a release date. However, we do know that it's in development for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. So far we know of three classes: Druid, Barbarian, and Sorceress. We also know that you will be traveling...

Anthem's Dwindling Playerbase is Causing Issues with Matchmaking

Less than a week after BioWare announced an indefinite delay of most of their Anthem roadmap comes word that its dwindling player base is having some issues with proper matchmaking. Given that BioWare hasn't set a new release date for the numerous gameplay additions and improvements, the player base seems to be dying off fast enough that it's causing issues for those that are still playing.

According to a new report from Forbes, players are finding that they are unable to consistently find full teams for matchmaking activities. In Anthem, players can...

  • Bank Heist Gameplay from Saints Row: The Third on Nintendo Switch

Bank Heist Gameplay from Saints Row: The Third on Nintendo Switch

A new gameplay video is out today for the Nintendo Switch version of Saints Row: The Third. The game, announced earlier this month, offers Switch owners the chance to play the game on the go. Today, the first video in a new "Memorable Moments" video series, was released.

Today's video release focuses on the game's opening bank heist sequence. I'm sure we'll have more about this in the coming weeks. Saints Row: The Third - The Full Package is slated to be released on the Nintendo Switch on May 10. ...

  • Employees at Riot Games Threaten Walkout

Employees at Riot Games Threaten Walkout

It's been a real wild ride for Riot Games, the studio responsible for creating League of Legends. Sadly, this seems to be one ride that is far from over. Employees are now considering a walkout after Riot Games took steps to prevent employees from taking legal action against the company.

Riot Games had moved to prevent further lawsuits against the company after multiple lawsuits were filed following Kotaku's recent investigation into the studio's sexist culture. At least two separate sources told Waypoint that employees are talking about walking out...

  • Necromancer Class Revealed for Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr

Necromancer Class Revealed for Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr

Bones that move on their own! Wait, that's from a different game, but the idea still stands! In the coming release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Elsweyr, the dead will rise again with the new Necromancer class.

This new class was just announced today for ESO from ZeniMax Online Studios. Fans of the Elder Scrolls lore may already know this, but Necromancy is a bit of a no-no. You either steer clear of it or you practice it in secret. When it arrives with the Elsweyr expansion on May 20, players will find out that selecting it as a class means more than...

  • Future of Fan-funded Skyrim Multiplayer Mod in Question as Dev Says They 'Don't Owe the Community Anything'

There exists, somewhere, the shell of a Skyrim multiplayer mod called Skyrim Together. As its name indicates, this mod tries to turn the single-player Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim into a shared online experience with a group of friends or even strangers. At least, that's what the case would be if the mod was actually out. If the words of the mod's developer are anything to go on, that release may never actually happen.

According to PCGamesN, a member of the mod team named maxgriot posted on Reddit that they "don't owe the community anything."...

  • Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes Named Madden NFL 20 Cover Athlete

Though the Kansas City Chiefs haven't won a Super Bowl since 1970, that isn't stopping EA from having one of their best stars be the Madden NFL 20 cover athlete. I get the feeling Chiefs fans needed something to cheer about today.

If it wasn't obvious, Madden NFL 20 was announced this evening. It will be released on August 2, 2019 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Origin. Those who have Origin Access Premier will apparently get to play it early, but I'm not seeing anything that says just how much earlier it is.

    As I alluded to,...

  • Rage 2 Trailer Explains What Rage 2 Is

Rage 2 Trailer Explains What Rage 2 Is

Bethesda claims that no mere "safe for work" words can possibly describe just what Rage 2 actually is. They are instead offering up an "explosive new trailer" to do the talking for them.

I haven't watched it yet myself, but I can only assume that the trailer is just swear word after swear word, plus a ton of explosions and violence. If nothing else, I'm sure the trailer has a lot of sick explosions and violence. I really can't see them releasing a trailer that's just wall to wall cussing, but you just never know!

    Rage...

  • Respawn Delays Future Titanfall Games to Focus on Apex Legends

Respawn Delays Future Titanfall Games to Focus on Apex Legends

A new developer blog went up a short time ago today from Respawn Entertainment. The studio, known best for their work on the Titanfall games and the recently released Apex Legends battle royale title, revealed a bit about what they're going to focus on for the time being.

Titanfall fans, you're going to want to sit down for this one. One of the big points mentioned in this update is the fact that Respawn has now pushed back their current Titanfall development plans in order to focus on Apex Legends. Yeah, I know. I'm sad about that too.

MapleStory M Update Adds New PvP Competitive Dungeon

An update for the mobile MMORPG MapleStory M just came out today. In it, a new PvP focused competitive dungeon is a major component of this update. This update is called "The Legends Return" and is available for both the iOS and Android versions of the game.

This new PvP dungeon includes two modes: Ranked and Free. Ranked Mode will allow you to engage in 3v3 battles. The tier is then "decided by season ranking, and players automatically receive season rewards depending on achieved rank and results of wins and losses." Free Mode...
