Epic is Suing Apple After Fortnite was Kicked from the App Store

Yo, where we dropping... a lawsuit?

Apple has removed Epic Games' Fortnite from the App Store after the studio implemented its own in-app payment system. This payment system bypasses Apple's payment system and thus avoids Apple 30% tax on purchases made.

This is, as they say in the biz, a big no-no.

Apple immediately responded by kicking Fortnite off of the App Store. Epic Games also implemented the same payment bypassing option into the Android version of...

Sega Considering More PC Ports After Success of Persona 4 Golden

Persona 4 Golden and other titles are doing well on PC.

Sega says that their recent PC ports of some rather high-profile games have proven to be a great success for the company. Sales of games like Persona 4 Golden, Yakuza 0, and even Catherine have been so successful that Sega is considering bringing more games over to the PC platform. The biggest push for Sega seems to be the surprise success of Persona 4 Golden above all else.

Sega president Haruki Satomi and senior...

More PlayStation Timed Exclusives for Marvel's Avengers

Why not just make the entire game exclusive at this point?

Sony has announced some additional "PlayStation advantages" to buying Marvel's Avengers on the PlayStation platform. These "advantages" are on top of the fact that only the PlayStation platform will have access to Spider-Man as a playable hero. These are also in addition to the exclusive beta period for PlayStation owners, the first of which begins on August 7.

These "advantages" on...

Microsoft Confirms Free Online Multiplayer for Halo Infinite

Confirmed after a short bout as a rumor.

Microsoft confirmed the short-lived rumor that Halo Infinite would have free multiplayer. Not only that, but they also confirmed that Halo Infinite, at least the multiplayer component, will support 120fps on Xbox Series X. I'm sure that will also hold true for the PC release as well. Sorry Xbox One owners, you can't handle all those delicious frames. ...

Valve Cracks Down on Using VPNs to Buy Games Cheaper

This should hopefully lead to more fair regional pricing.

For several years now, users were able to make use of a loophole that allowed them to buy games for cheaper if purchased from certain regions. Users were able to trick Steam into thinking they lived in one region where a price of a game was more favorable to them due to exchange rates. This had the unfortunate side-effect of developers and publishers having to increase prices in these regions to put a stop to those using VPNs...

    Happy 10th Anniversary Battlefield 2!

Battlefield 2, the game that not only played an important role in the lives of many of us but also was highly responsible for the soul and essence of the multiplayer shooters that we get today. It was undoubtedly an example of a game that we unfortunately don't get nowadays, a game full of innovation, of new ideas and concepts and with no fear to execute them. It was also thanks to this success that the Battlefield series managed to grow exponentially to what it is today. For the time it ach...

Batman: Arkham Knight 60FPS Workaround for PC Users

Batman: Arkham Knight came out tonight on all platforms. Unfortunately for those PC owners out there, the gameplay is capped at 30fps. Why? Not really sure. They have an in-game benchmark that most certainly goes above 30 but the game itself runs at 30 max.

That is unless you make this simple INI tweak!
    • With the game not running, go to your installation folder for Arkham Knight. It will be something like: \steamapps\common\Batman Arkham Knight

  • Bungie Does a Poor Job Defending the Price for The Taken King and Rebuying Content

When pressed by Eurogamer to explain how they can justify selling The Taken King expansion for $40 while omitting content that players could only get if they re-purchased the entire game again, Bungie's Luke Wilson gave the PR equivalent of "because fuck you, give me money."
Eurogamer: So it may seem like a small thing but you're adding exclusive content to the game - three new dance emotes - that players can't get unless they rebuy the main game and the two existing DLCs. Is that

  • Watch 13 Minutes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Co-Op Gameplay on the PS4

Watch 13 Minutes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Co-Op Gameplay on the PS4

Sony and Activision just released a new 13 minute long gameplay video for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This new footage shows off the game's co-op campaign for the upcoming release of the annual FPS. The video notes that not all features shown will be available on all platforms. What I assume this means is that the old generation of consoles (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) will not feature four player co-op. I think those platforms may be limited to just two player co-op. This is mer...
