G2A Offers to Pay Media Outlets to Run Pre-Written Defense Article

Add it to the list.

Third-party gray market key reseller, G2A, has been under increased fire the past week. Sure, it's had its fair share of accusations and criticisms slung its way over the years, but nothing quite like what we've seen in the past week. Today, an email sent from G2A to a handful of website owners, attempted to manipulate the public image of the company in an incredibly scummy way.

The email included a "transparent" and "unbiased" pre-written article about G2A that presented a warped spin on the truth about stolen game keys. The "truth"...

Epic Promises to Cover Shenmue 3 Refunds for Problem They Created in the First Place

Then quickly announces this will happen again.

If you've been following the Shenmue 3 development saga for any length of time, you are probably well aware of a few things. First, you are probably well aware that the game pulled in over $6.3 million on Kickstarter alone. After the Kickstarter run ended, it used another service to keep collecting from fans that wanted to help fund the game. The total amount pledged rose to almost $7.2 million. Deep Silver was then selected as the game's publisher. However, it is not clear how much, if anything, they contributed as a publisher towards...

Game Breaking Battlefield V Bugs Still Not Fixed

No solid ETA on when they will be either.

If you have played Battlefield V from the beginning, you will probably agree that the game is fun but it's not without its flaws. In fact, it seems as though with every patch released for the game, there are almost as many new bugs added as there are ones that are squished in each patch.

The latest patch released for the game, which came about just last week, is no exception to that rule. First off, the beginning of Chapter 4 for Battlefield V's Tides of War multiplayer campaign was supposed to include the addition of a new map,...

Review: The Sinking City (PC)

That sinking feeling.

Frogware's The Sinking City is perhaps the best love letter to Lovecraft that we have seen in quite some time, but that may not be saying much. This most direct competition to The Sinking City was 2018's Call of Cthulhu, which really failed to capitalize on any single gameplay aspect. The Sinking City, on the other hand, at least manages to excel in one or two key areas, even if it barely stays afloat in others.

The city of Oakmont is the main location for The Sinking City. The first thing you see upon arrival is dreariness. Well, that and a dead...

  • Lag Switching Also Returns to Halo 2 Anniversary

Lag Switching Also Returns to Halo 2 Anniversary

The old engine and old visuals aren't the only thing back from Halo 2. Lag Switching, or Standbying, makes its return to Halo in Halo 2 Anniversary from the Halo: Master Chief Collection. I suppose this goes hand in hand of this being a completely faithful port of the original game and engine.

Don't know what Lag Switching is or you haven't run into it yourself yet? First off, consider yourself lucky. Secondly, read this short bit from the Halo Nation wiki.
Standbying, also known as Lag Switching, was one of the first forms of cheating used in Halo 2. This cheat, which could only be performed by the connection host,

    Half-Life 2 Turns 10 Today

On November 16, 2004 Half-Life 2 was released. Happy birthday to Half-Life 2! Valve curiously makes no mention of this fairly significant occasion. Perhaps it's worse than we thought! Perhaps instead of being able to just count to 3, they've simply forgotten about "Half-Life" entirely! Oh no... All kidding aside, Half-Life 2 is still a great game. You should probably play it if you haven't already. Feel free to share your favorite story about Half-Life 2. Maybe tell everyone how you were in college and stayed up stupidly late just so you could play Half-Life 2 on the new Steam platform, wearing headphones ...

  • Desert Bus for Hope 8 Underway - Raising Money for Charity One Tedious Mile at a Time

The eighth annual Desert Bus for Hope charity marathon kicked off earlier today. This annual event finds a group of people playing the infamous Desert Bus game for dozens upon dozens of hours in order to raise money for the Child's Play Charity.

In addition to donating towards a great cause, the more money that is raised, the more these people have to play the game. Right now, they're going to be playing the game for 113 hours. More donations will add more time to their fun.
Desert Bus is the world's longest running internet-based fundraiser and has raised more than $1.8 million for Child's Play over its seven-year history. What started as an improptu ev

DirectX 12 Will Not Appear on Windows 7

AMD's Chief Gaming Scientist, Richard Huddy, said that DirectX 12 will not be supported by Windows 7 and below. Huddy made this reveal while speaking at a PDXLAN presentation earlier this month.
"It's a very, very popular operating system.

"One thing that's not going to happen to it is DX12. Yup, DX12 is not coming to Windows 7."
This comes following a brief snippet where he notes that Windows 7 is still the most popular operating system at present, occupying 52% of all Microsoft OS users. He even notes that the 52% figure is actually growing despite the availability of Windows 8.1. DirectX 12 will be built into Windows 10 when it...

Robotoki Ditches Both Publisher Nexon and Free-to-Play Model

The Indie studio, Robotoki, has decided to ditch their planned free-to-play model for Human Element. They now plan to release the game as a paid product in November of 2015. As a result of this move, Robotoki had to end its publishing agreement with Nexon. They have also, unfortunately, laid off a portion of its staff as a result of this change.

The Founder of Robotoki, Robert Bowling, issued a statement on this move.
"As the game evolved we realized that the elements that make Human Element the most fun would be hindered by keeping it a free-to-play experience. "Therefore, we made the decision to switch to a premium experience for our pla

Intel Resumes Advertising on Gamasutra Much to the Dismay of GamerGate

Intel has gone back on its rather rash decision to pull advertising from the game industry site, Gamasutra. They resumed advertising about a day ago and even noted the importance of the site's audience to its own community. Intel had initially pulled advertising from Gamasutra following pressure from one of the many spam mail campaigns by Gamergate supporters. This is where they sent multiple emails (usually more than one from the same person, or many from a number of fake accounts they set up) to Intel to try painting Gamasutra in a bad light. This was all due to Gamasutra publicly posting articles that Gamergate did not agree with. However, after more sensi...

PlayStation 4 Turns 1, Celebrates with Infographic

Another day brings another infographic to view! The PlayStation 4 turns the big 01 tonight at midnight and what better way to celebrate than with a short infographic from Sony.

If that wasn't that interesting to you, then perhaps you'll be interested in the series of blog posts that Sony has planned that takes a look back at the 20 year history of PlayStation. After all, the original PlayStation was released 20 years ago on December 3 (in Japan). Those will be coming in the days leading up to the anniversary, then on December 6-7 there is the PlayStation Experience. This is following The Game Awards on D...
