Google Stadia is Out Today and Reportedly a 'Monumental Flop'

It's time for "good news, bad news."

For Google, today is a bit of a mixed bag. The good news for them is that they just soft launched their first dedicated gaming platform, Stadia. The bad news is that it's reportedly a "monumental flop."

Today, those who purchased the $130 Founder's Edition of Stadia are probably awaiting its delivery. The physical contents largely consisting of a unique Stadia controller and a Chromecast Ultra. Though you had to plunk down $130 for this, there was actually no guarantee that you would get...

The company has billed it as a "flagship VR" game. It's reportedly prequel to at least Half-Life 2 and will be VR exclusive. We will have more information on this when the main reveal comes this Thursday, November 21. ...

Review: Journey for Elysium (PC VR)

A short trip to the afterlife.

For the past several months now, we have offered up glimpses of the story-driven VR adventure title Journey for Elysium. We saw a game that had a unique visual style, the promise of a story that would take us all to an afterlife, a world filled with architecture inspired by Greek mythology, and mind-bending puzzles to solve. The unique visual style was certainly eye catching, but I often wondered if the rest of the game would be able to hold up to this aesthetically pleasing presentation.

With the release of Journey...

Desert Bus for Hope 2019 Charity Event Underway

Better late than never.

We're just a few days late in sharing this news with you, but when it comes to charity: Better late than never, right?

The latest annual charity drive (get it?) that is Desert Bus for Hope is well underway. A group of people have already spent three days driving across the desert, in real time, in an effort to raise money for charity. In three days and 6 hours, the crew has already raised over $388,400 for the Child's Play charity. The team is still going strong after all this time.

For those that don't know,...

Google Stadia Launch Games are Lacking

Stadia comes out of the gate already limping.

With the soft launch of Google Stadia rapidly approaching, it seems like we're beyond due for a look at the platform's launch lineup. Hell, we're probably beyond due for a look at the Stadia UI and full featureset, but that is another matter entirely.

Today, Google revealed a list of 12 games that will serve as the launch titles for when Stadia has a soft launch on November 19. For $130, you were able to get in on the ground floor of the launch of Stadia with the Founder's Edition. These kits have...

Visceral Games responded to a simple question on Twitter earlier that inquired about what resolution Battlefield Hardline would run at on the current consoles. The answer really shouldn't be too surprising to you. That's right, Hardline will be 720p on the Xbox One and 900p on the PlayStation 4....

  • PS4 2.50 Firmware Rumored for April Includes System Level Key Remapping and Suspend/Resume

Apparently, Sony has started up a closed beta for firmware updates on the PlayStation 4. And apparently, despite people being sworn to secrecy due to signing an NDA, some information on the next update has indeed started to leak. What then can we expect in the rumored 2.50 firmware update for the PlayStation 4? Well...

That's right. If that screenshot is legitimate, it looks like 2.50 will allow users to remap every button on their DualShock 4 controllers on a system level. That's rather awesome, especially for those who enjoy having the fire bu...

New Co-op and PvP Details Revealed for Bloodborne

Along with a few new screenshots, some fresh details emerged today from the Japanese Bloodborne about what fans can expect for the co-op and PvP aspects of the game. Now, the list may be a bit off given errors in translating.
    - Co-op is still the same as in the network alpha, hosts use a Lulling Bell to request help and the game automatically matches them to a helper who has used the Small Resonant Bell (there are no summon signs in Bloodborne) - Co-op ends when a boss is defeated or the host or guests die, or the host uses Parting Shot on a guest - Players

  • Exclusive: More Cities: Skylines Hands-On Gameplay - Unlimited Money and All Buildings Mods Used

Cities: Skylines is embracing the mod scene in a big way, even going so far as to offer up Steam Workshop support. Right now, there isn't too much in the way of custom content but that probably stands to reason because the game isn't out yet until the 10th. However, there are a few mods out there that I was able to test out last night. I believe these were added by the developer, Colossal Order. The ones used allow me to have unlimited funds while another unlocks all of the non-special buildings. The video is about an hour long and was again taken from a Twitch st...

Three Hours of Cities: Skylines Gameplay

I played Cities: Skylines today. I played that game for three hours straight for the first time ever. I streamed it live on the Internet for all to view and if you missed it, you're in luck because you can watch all three hours right now.

Now, the audio mix is completely screwed up for at least the first hour. Since I had to upload to YouTube directly from Twitch, the usual editing and attempts at quality control on my videos are not in place.

With that said, here's unedited gameplay for the upcoming city builder game, Cities: Skylines....

Valve Offers up Steam Store Pages for Steam Machines

Valve has opened up an apparent one stop shop location for all things Steam Machines. Over at the Steam storefront, you can now take a look at the various offerings a variety of vendors have put together under the "Steam Machines" umbrella.

Perhaps you are interested in the offerings that won't cost an arm and a leg, such as the iBuyPower SBX starting at $459.99 (USD). Or maybe you want to go hog wild and plunk down $5,000 on the top of the line offering from Falcon Northwest and their Tiki Steam Machine?

A Short Video from Valve's Portal VR Demo

Maximum PC took some footage from a portion of Valve's talk on virtual reality. During the talk, they showed off a short "Aperture Science VR Demo." It's important to note here that while we believe this is running on Source 2 (the lighting could be a big sign of this), it was not specifically announced as running on Source 2.

Even if it wasn't Source 2, the fact that it's VIRTUAL REALITY should be awesome enough for anybody!...
