World of Warcraft Soon to Allow Players to Buy Game Time with In-Game Gold

Taking a page from Eve Online and WildStar, Blizzard will soon allow players to buy more game time by spending in-game gold. Players will be able to purchase a "WoW Token" through the in-game shop using real world money. They can either use it to add 30 days of game time to their account or sell it on the game's Auction House at the "current market price."

That quoted price is guaranteed no matter how volatile the market is. Also, once purchased from the Auction House, that Token is then soulbound to your character and cannot be re-traded to game the system. In case you haven't picked up on this bonus fact, this also m...

  • In the World of Gaming, Leonard Nimoy was More than Just the Civilization IV Narrator

By now, most of you have probably already saw that actor Leonard Nimoy passed away today at the age of 83. We all knew him as Spock from Star Trek or from his dozens of other roles he has assumed for the past roughly seven decades. However, many of us probably also knew him as the narrator for Civilization IV.

His familiar voice would read a line or two any time a new technology was discovered. Even after countless hours with the game, hearing those words of wisdom read was always comforting and always signified progress was being made. What you may not know is that he also had a hand in a number of other games throughout the years. Most recently in 2012, Ni...

  • Sony Somehow Erased the Complete List of PlayStation 4 Anniversary Edition Winners

Sony has, somehow, completely erased the list of all 123 winners of their PlayStation 4 Anniversary contest they held in Japan. Let's just back it up a moment here (something Sony didn't do, hey-oh!). This contest made it so that anybody that purchased a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, or PlayStation TV between December and January were eligible to receive a calendar with a unique code. Of all of those people, Sony selected 123 codes as the winners of the limited edition PlayStation 4 Anniversary Edition console. That's nothing to really sneeze at given that only 12,300 of those consoles exist in the world. But, the winners ar...
