Valve Announces Counter-Strike 2

Valve's massively popular FPS gets an engine upgrade and a test starting today.

Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 today after weeks of teases, speculation, and rumors. The developer calls this "the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and I'm inclined to believe it.

Sony's Jim Ryan Reportedly Said His Goal is to 'Block Your Merger' in Closed Door Meeting with Activision

The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment reportedly had some choice words during a meeting with Activision.

It has been a ridiculous day for Sony when it comes to new details that have come out about the company's opposition to the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger.

It was not until I reinstalled the original PC release of The Outer Worlds that I was able to really appreciate the improvements made with the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition.     Rich Get Richer - Twitch Adds Microtransactions to Partner Chat

    Starting today, Twitch is rolling out a test of its new microtransaction system that they call Cheering. Cheering allows the chat in partnered streams to "cheer" for a favorite moment during a stream. Cheering allows the chat to donate any number of Cheer Bits to the streamer.

    These bits equate to a monetary donation made for the streamer in lieu (or in addition to) the usual support of subscribing or donating directly.

    DICE announced that they will effectively scrap Battlelog for joining and browsing servers. In its place will be an in-game UI where players can join servers, much like it was for all previous Battlefield games up through Battlefield 3. This annoying bit of DRM, introduced back in May, prevented non-Oculus users from playing games on other VR hardware (such as the Vive) and only allowed Oculus VR headsets to play purchased titles.
