Review: Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

15 years and a fresh coat of paint later.

Almost 15 years to the day that the original Age of Empires III was released comes the remastered Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Love it or hate it, the original certainly left an impression on fans of the franchise. I am not saying all those impressions were necessarily good, but they were impressions none the less.

What we have here is a remastering of one of the more divisive Age of Empires games released. Upon first...

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Delayed

Pre-patch also pushed out to October 13.

Blizzard just said that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the next major expansion for their still popular MMORPG, has been delayed. It has been pushed back now until "later this year" with a solid release date not yet revealed. As is typical for these sorts of delays, the delay was an "incredibly difficult decision for the team" but they ultimately feel as though it was the "right decision for the game--and for (the)...

Review: Crysis Remastered Is One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Maximum meh.

In 2007 the original Crysis was released for the PC. The big question on everyone's mind at the time, and even through to today, is "can your PC run Crysis?" Usually, the answer was "yes, but…" because even the beefiest of computer hardware had trouble maxing out the graphical options that Crysis brought to the table at the time.

Fast-forward to 2020 and the answer gets a bit more muddled. See, the original Crysis was very dependent on...

Super Footbrawl Combines Gang Beasts with Rocket League

A new game caught our eye today that looks to combine the worlds of Gang Beasts with Rocket League. It's called Super Footbrawl and as you may have already gathered, it seems to combine physics based player movement with the world of backyard soccer.

I mean, just look at some of these early gameplay clips....

No Physical Release of Heavy Rain PS4 in North America

This is a bit of an odd on. When it comes to game releases, we almost always see North America getting a physical release when one is offered by a publisher. That trend seems to be bucked with the upcoming release of the Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls Collection.

Quantic Dream posted their regional launch schedule on Facebook today. On it is no indication of a release in North America. You can still acquire both digitally. Heavy Rain for the PlayStation 4 is due out ...

  • This Week in Review: Firewatch, Quantum Break, and More - February 7-13, 2016

I've decided to may try something new here. Each weekend, or each "weekend when I have something relevant to talk about, I will put up a new "This Week in Review" at TGN. This will hopefully be a small bit of content that includes short reviews of games I played in the past week and maybe a paragraph or two on some "interesting" bit of news I saw recently that I have an opinion about.

Let me open with some quick reviews for a couple of games I played this past week: Firew...

  • The Future of Mobile Gaming

    The Future of Mobile Gaming

It is not anything new, but the surge in mobile and casual gaming is only going to keep going strong in 2016. These past few years have seen an incredible surge in the popularity of mobile gaming. As of April 2015, 35% of all gamers said they play mobile games. It should only stand to reason to say that number will only increase as time goes on and more and more people pick up phones that are capable of playing games that are visually on par with the consoles they grew up with. We already...

  • Only One: The Game - Kanye West is Supposedly Making a Game with Paul McCartney

Kanye West is making a game that will have music by Paul McCartney. It's called Only One: The Game and features Donda West (Kanye's late mom) riding Pegasus to the heavens.

The above trailer seems to be the only footage online for this game right now. I apologize for how bad the quality and the annoying outro. Your guess is as good as mine right now about just what in the world is going on.
