Alan Wake 2 Review: A Must-Play Psychological Horror Experience

Easily, the best horror game in years.

In 2010 Remedy Entertainment released Alan Wake, a game where a writer is pulled into a horrifying world seemingly of his own creation. Alan Wake was a game that I bounced off at least two times. Despite the game being well received by critics and fans, I felt like its gameplay was just a repetitive slog that even its unique story could not overcome. When a sequel was announced by Remedy, I found myself extremely indifferent to the news. Still...

Review: Starfield

A safe, if not soulless, journey through the cosmos.

Bethesda Game Studios releases are safe. They are familiar. You know almost exactly what to expect when a major new release from them rolls around. They instill a feeling of "I know this game won't be groundbreaking, but I know I'll have fun." Yes, there are some obvious differences, but the heart of each Bethesda game is almost universally the same. The recent release of Starfield is no different. To put it bluntly: Starfield is Fall...

Gearbox Pulls Out of G2A Deal; Blames People Can Fly

To nobody's real surprise, Gearbox announced today that they have pulled out of their deal with notoriously shady key reseller G2A. The initial deal had G2A selling a number of exclusive versions of Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition to consumers. This move comes just a couple of days after the partnership was announced and just a day after Gearbox gave G2A a list of demands that they wanted fulfilled or else they would pull out of the deal. Gearbox Partners with G2A One Day, Threatens to Kill Partnership the Next

Yesterday, Gearbox announced a super controversial partnership with G2A, a "grey market" retailer of PC game keys. The partnership had G2A being an exclusive retailer of some special editions of Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. Man, the Internet was pissed. G2A is notorious for their shady business practices so to see a fairly large studio like Gearbox actually partner with them was kind of beyond the pale. Cut to today where Gearbox is now threatening to kill the partnership with G2A un...

    1. Smoother performance and no screen-tearing (won't magically turn a 30fps game into a 60fps game however)
    2. Dynamic resolution titles will now run at the maximum possible resolution

Let's just take a little glimpse at some of the games that came out this year that scored a 90 or higher. We had Baldur's Gate 3 in August, The Legend of Zelda:...
