Bethesda Celebrates 25 Years of Elder Scrolls with a Morrowind Giveaway

Bethesda is celebrating 25 years of The Elder Scrolls today. On this day back in 1994, Bethesda released the first Elder Scrolls title called The Elder Scrolls: Arena for DOS. And while it's not that easy to play the original Elder Scrolls on modern machines, you should still be able to play The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

It's probably a good thing that FOR TODAY ONLY (March 25, 2019), you can get a free copy of Morrowind to keep forever and ever for the life of the Bethesda.net Launcher. Here is how you can snag your free copy of Morrowind, plus some other freebies. Do...

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Announced, Pre-orders Available Now

After multiple weeks and a few months of teases, including a long running ARG surrounding a dating app called Tinder, we now have an official announcement of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Paradox Interactive made the big reveal just moments ago via a GDC party. The party was "supposed" to be for a new Tinder reveal but thanks to some unintentionally cheesy live-action role playing, it turned out to be a big reveal for Bloodlines 2.

This is a direct sequel to the previous title that came out back in 2004 on the very same day that Half-Life 2 was released....

Valve Finally Shows Off New Steam UI Overhaul

An update to the Steam user interface and library has been in the works at Valve for years now. Today, the company finally feels comfortable enough to show off their Steam UI overhaul and did just that during a presentation at GDC 2019. I'd like to first thank Game Informer and PC Gamer (and again) for a lot of the information and screenshots you'll see below.

Library
First up, let's talk about the changes coming to how your Library will look and function with this new update. The Friends list is now integrated into a column on the right side. No idea if this is an optional...

Nintendo Embraces Indie - Cuphead, Darkwood, a Dancing Zelda, and More Revealed Today for Switch

Are you ready for the invasion of the Indies on the Nintendo Switch? Earlier today, a new Nindies Showcase for Spring 2019 outlined a good number of independent developed titles that are coming soon to the portable console otherwise known as the Switch.

Some of the highlights in today's announcement include Cuphead from Studio MDHR. This one will be out on April 18. In addition, Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda was also announced today. This rhythm-action title takes its catchy tunes to Hyrule and features playable Link and Princess...

The Outer Worlds, Remedy's Control, Detroit: Become Human, and More Announced as Epic Games Store Timed Exclusives

As part of today's GDC presentation, Epic Games announced a number of timed exclusives that are coming first to the Epic Games Store. Among these games are The Outer Worlds, Control from Remedy Entertainment, and even some PlayStation 4 exclusives like Detroit: Become Human from Quantic Dream.

Some of these titles, such as The Outer Worlds, will also appear on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10. I guess this just lends more confirmation that Epic is less about purchasing exclusives and more about simply paying companies to keep their games off of Steam. Consumers should not...

Konami Pulling P.T. From the PlayStation Network on April 29

If you haven't already downloaded it, you should probably hurry up because Konami is about to pull P.T. (Playable Teaser) from the PlayStation Network on Wednesday, April 29.

A notice that went up on the P.T. website gives a short, to the point notice of this removal.

For those still unaware, P.T. was revealed at Gamescom 2014. At the time, nobody had any idea that it was a teaser for the then upcoming Silent Hills from Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro. It even featured Norman Reedus...

Balls of Steel - Registrations Open for Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Tournament

Registrations are now open for what looks to be the fourth Balls of Steel tournament. This year's Balls of Steel tournament tasks players with racing through Binding of Isaac: Rebirth as fast as possible. The tournament is once again presented by two popular Twitch streamers: Cobaltstreak and Richard_Hammer. The tournament does make use of custom save files that slightly tweak the gameplay of the original game. It also removes some items and abilities that have been deemed to be too overpowered or too troublesome for racing purposes. This year's prize pool has not yet been determined, but the last tournament had a $2,00...

Rumor: Gears of War Remaster Coming to the Xbox One

The latest rumor that seems entirely plausible is that the original Gears of War will be getting the remaster treatment for the Xbox One. The remaster will obviously sport updated visuals and updated cutscenes. Microsoft is reportedly working on the remaster with either (depending on which rumor you want to believe) Black Tusk Studios or Splash Damage on the remaster. Plastic Wax is reportedly being utilized to handle the cutscene animations. Previously, it was rumored that Microsoft was working on a remastered anthology for all of the Gears of War titles. That anthology, keeping it in line with the collect...

Most notably are the details that there will be a four-player co-op campaign for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, new XP progression for the included Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies mode, and the return of enhanced vertical movement.

The leak seems to come from what look to be promotional materials for the game.

Again, the official reveal will come on the 26th and will presumably be revealed alongside a new trailer and/or screenshots. So be sure to check back then for that!...

  • Op-Ed: Paying for Game Mods? No Thanks

Op-Ed: Paying for Game Mods? No Thanks

Recently, Valve introduced the ability to have mod makers put a price on the mods they make. I don't support it. I won't support modders that try to sell me a sword for $2. I won't support those that try to sell me a pack of mods, some of which were free for years, for more than the normal cost of the game itself.

I'm all for supporting mod makers but the way Valve is attempting to do it, is not the right way of going about it. Set up an optional donation button. Make it flashing and have big arrows pointing towards it if you must. Put it on the page for the mod and let the public decide from there if they want to give money to the mod maker. Just make it a proper donation split too with the bulk actually going to...

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Teaser Gives Us a Glimpse of the Advanced Warfare Future

I hope you like futuristic war games, because at least part of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will include that. In fact, it's looking suspiciously a lot like Advanced Warfare, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Here is the "Ember" trailer for Black Ops 3.

In the next 50 years, technological advancements will lead us into a world where only those who risk going too far, will find out how far we can actually go.

The big ol' "world reveal" takes place in just three days on April 26....

Steam Workshop Creators Can Now Earn Even More Money - Here's How

Do you like having loads of dosh? Of course you do, who doesn't? Don't answer that. Now, if you are someone who likes to have a lot of money, I hear tale that there is big bucks to be made by making content for the Steam Workshop.

Starting today, content creators can earn even more money. A new update to the Workshop, starting with the Skyrim Workshop will allow content creators to directly sell content to consumers. Content that includes mods, items, maps, skins, and whatever else you can make.
Workshop is now putting mod authors in business via a new streamlined process for listing, selling and managing their creations. Creators contributing to the Steam Workshop have the
