CES 2018: HTC and Valve Announce SteamVR Tracking 2.0 and Vive Pro Headset
Today, Valve and HTC announced a minor technology bump to the HTC Vive. This bump comes in the form of SteamVR Tracking 2.0, which allows for users to link up to four Base Stations in a single space. In addition to making the jump from two to four stations, the improved technology allows for game space areas to jump to sizes as large as 10 by 10 meters. Valve tells us that the new technology is expected to ship with commercial devises later this year. The new 2.0 Base Stations will be "sm... -

Star Citizen Developer Responds to Crytek Lawsuit
A few weeks back, the world learned that Crytek was suing Cloud Imperium Games, the development studio behind Star Citizen. Crytek filed a lawsuit in the California District Court and claimed that CIG has not lived up to the terms of their initial agreement to use CryENGINE for Star Citizen. The claim says that the license covers one game and one game alone, and they feel as though Squadron 42 is a separate game and needs a separate license. Crytek's suit also made the claim that logos,... -

Steam Hits New Record - Surpasses 18.5 Million Users Online at Once
Yet again, Steam has hit another new milestone. The online distribution platform had over 18.5 million people logged in at one time yesterday. This is not only a new record for the platform, but it's a new record by a long shot. The previous record was a decent amount under 18 million people.
The record was hit on Saturday, January 6 around 10AM (ET). Just a few months ago the top concurrent users logged in count was 15 million. It's seen a relatively steady increase of about... -

Overwatch Update is Going to Nerf Mercy Yet Again
Right now on the PTR for Overwatch, nerfs are incoming for both Mercy and Junkrat. The nerf for Junkrat isn't a huge deal, but man is Mercy ever getting beaten with the nerf sledgehammer over these last few updates.
Junkrat sees a reduction in the Concussion Mine damage the further you are from it. Alright, that makes sense. Mercy's nerfs are more... yikes, especially when combined with other recent changes to her abilities.
Junkrat...

New AMD Alpha Drivers Fix DirectX 9 Games
Another recent update to the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition drivers (I seriously hate that stupid name) broke DirectX 9 functionality in a number of older titles. Broken in the sense that you couldn't play some of these older games. Thankfully, AMD just released a new alpha driver version for their video cards that fixes it.
The 18.1.1 Alpha release of the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition (-_-) should fix those DirectX 9 issues right up.

New SSGSS Vegeta Focused Trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ
Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Dragon Ball FighterZ today. The focus is on none other than SSGSS Vegeta. This trailer follows the release of the SSGSS Goku trailer and the opening cinematic trailer that came out in the weeks prior.
Having progressed from feared villain, to anti-hero, to hero throughout the series, Vegeta is also one of the most story-developed characters in the franchise. Now his power and skill can be wielded in DRAGON BALL FighterZ as SSGSS Vegeta officially... -

Valve Rescinds "Major" Designation from 2018 Dota 2 Galaxy Battles Major
Valve issued an important update today regarding the upcoming Galaxy Battles Major for Dota 2. First up, the event is no longer a Major and will thus be known as the Galaxy Battles 2018 tournament.
This is due to "new government regulations for Esports players entering the Philippines."
Based on information we’ve recently confirmed regarding new government regulations for esports players entering the Philippines, we have decided to rescind the tournament’s Major... -

According to a Tweet by Nintendo from earlier today, the Nintendo Switch has become the "fastest selling video game system of all time" in the United States. Additional details provided by Nintendo say that in the period from March 3 through December 31, 2017, Nintendo sold 4.8 million Switch units. That figure is just for the States. Total worldwide sales figures were not revealed today.
To compare, the incredibly well received Wii sold just 4 million units in the same span... -

Mad Catz is Back with New PC Hardware
Last April, we reported that Mad Catz was no more. The studio had filed for bankruptcy following poor sales, namely from the lackluster sales of their Rock Band 4 peripherals. It didn't really help that they were the co-publisher for the game which failed to make waves as the franchise did back in its heyday.
However, Mad Catz is back. The company announced today that "Mad Catz is back in the game." Yes, the company that made your favorite third-party gaming peripherals is... -

GTA Online Update Adds a Rally Car with Machine Guns, Plus Save Big on Mobile Ops Centers and Cars
The latest update for GTA Online technically came out yesterday but I didn't see the email until today. It matters now, however, because the new vehicle is still new and the savings on various in-game vehicles runs through to January 8.
To kick off 2018 with a bang, the Annis Savestra Sports Classic is now available for purchase at Legendary Motorsport. The Sevestra also comes ready for a bevy of optional upgrades such as machine guns, to be installed in either an Avenger or Mobile... -

Sure, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release of Monster Hunter: World (AUTO PLAYING AUDIO WARNING) is set for January 26, but what about the PC release? If you were expecting the game to be out at the same time for all platforms, you have another thing coming. As it stands right now, the Monster Hunter: World team at Capcom is aiming for a Fall 2018 release for the PC version of the game. That is quite the ways away.
According to the Monster Hunter Twitter account, Monster... -

by Shawn ZipayIt's AAAA vs WB.
March isn't even over yet and we've already seen a couple of stinkers come out from major gaming studios. While we tend to focus on the surprise hits or quality titles in these polls, this time it's a little bit different.
