G2A Offers to Pay Media Outlets to Run Pre-Written Defense Article

Add it to the list.

Third-party gray market key reseller, G2A, has been under increased fire the past week. Sure, it's had its fair share of accusations and criticisms slung its way over the years, but nothing quite like what we've seen in the past week. Today, an email sent from G2A to a handful of website owners, attempted to manipulate the public image of the company in an incredibly scummy way.

The email included a "transparent" and "unbiased" pre-written article about G2A that presented a warped spin on the truth about stolen game keys. The "truth"...

Earth Defense Force 5 Coming to PC this Week

The fifth mainline installment in the man vs. bugs saga known as Earth Defense Force was announced to be coming to the PC. Not only that, but Earth Defense Force 5 is coming to the PC this week on Thursday, July 11. That's a mere three days away from today! You can presently add it to your Wishlist on Steam if you want.

As usual, you will play as a member of the Earth Defense Force (EDF) as they battle giant ants, massive spiders, and all sorts of creepy crawlies. At your disposal will be a huge arsenal of weapons, vehicles, mechs, and customizable class...

Epic Promises to Cover Shenmue 3 Refunds for Problem They Created in the First Place

Then quickly announces this will happen again.

If you've been following the Shenmue 3 development saga for any length of time, you are probably well aware of a few things. First, you are probably well aware that the game pulled in over $6.3 million on Kickstarter alone. After the Kickstarter run ended, it used another service to keep collecting from fans that wanted to help fund the game. The total amount pledged rose to almost $7.2 million. Deep Silver was then selected as the game's publisher. However, it is not clear how much, if anything, they contributed as a publisher towards...

Game Breaking Battlefield V Bugs Still Not Fixed

No solid ETA on when they will be either.

If you have played Battlefield V from the beginning, you will probably agree that the game is fun but it's not without its flaws. In fact, it seems as though with every patch released for the game, there are almost as many new bugs added as there are ones that are squished in each patch.

The latest patch released for the game, which came about just last week, is no exception to that rule. First off, the beginning of Chapter 4 for Battlefield V's Tides of War multiplayer campaign was supposed to include the addition of a new map,...

Review: The Sinking City (PC)

That sinking feeling.

Frogware's The Sinking City is perhaps the best love letter to Lovecraft that we have seen in quite some time, but that may not be saying much. This most direct competition to The Sinking City was 2018's Call of Cthulhu, which really failed to capitalize on any single gameplay aspect. The Sinking City, on the other hand, at least manages to excel in one or two key areas, even if it barely stays afloat in others.

The city of Oakmont is the main location for The Sinking City. The first thing you see upon arrival is dreariness. Well, that and a dead...

No Man's Sky Segment from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

This past Friday, Sean Murray from Hello Games went on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to show off No Man's Sky to a national audience. The video below features the full interview alongside a demonstration of the game. It may not be new footage to you or I, but the people watching at home that may not be into video games, this was all new territory.

A release date for the game still has not yet been revealed.

Skreens Adds Split-Screen Functionality to Any Game

I received this press release a few days ago and opted to check it out later. Later ended up being about three days (whoops), but here we are. It was a mailing about something called Skreens, a device that combines multiple inputs into one output picture. This could be a very interesting way to have couch co-op in Halo 5, provided you own two Xbox One's and two copies of the game.

    What is Skreens?

Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson Join Cast of Assassin's Creed Movie

Joining Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the staff for the upcoming Assassin's Creed film are none other than Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson.

Irons will assume the role of Cotillard's father in the film while Irons will play as Fassbender's father. All actors are under the direction of Justin Kurzel when filming begins next week.

Jeremy Irons is perhaps best known for his work as Scar in The Lion King, Simon Gruber in Die Hard: With a Vengeance, and for his role in The Man in the Iron Mask. Brendan Gleeson had prominent roles as Alastor "Mad Eye" Moody in the Harry Potter films and also...

Square Enix Scraps Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Pre-Order Program

Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal announced today that they have cancelled the "Augment Your Pre-Order" program for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. This is a good move from the companies after fans were very vocal about how stupid the entire idea was.

  • Frictional Games Talks SOMA, Sales Figures, and the Future

Frictional Games Talks SOMA, Sales Figures, and the Future

First up, let's dive into how Frictional Games provided fans with a quick post-launch report on SOMA. In just 10 days, SOMA sold about 92,000 copies across every platform (PC and PlayStation 4). They say that just those number of sales will allow the company to pay their expenses for another two years. Sales have leveled out to be around 2,000 copies per day. Frictional Games even breaks down how that compares to their previous titles.
How does this compare to our other releases? Well, Amnesia: The Dark Descent sold 30,000 copies in the first month (and around 20,000 the first week). So SOMA's launch is obviously a lot better than that. Compared to Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs,

  • Former Activision Developers Announce New Studio and New Game - Icon: Disc Jam

Icon: Disc Jam is the newly announced title from former "AAA developers" that have worked on franchises such as Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, and Tony Hawk. The studio, High Horse Entertainment, is making Icon: Disc Jam on Unreal Engine 4.

It essentially appears to be a modern take on Windjammers and this makes me quite happy.
Description A fast-paced action-sports game that pits 2-4 players against each other in a unique combination of air hockey and tennis. Players scramble to retrieve and throw a glowing disc while unleashing devastating abilities and defending variable-point end zones. An exciting blend of strategy and skill, this arcade-inspired title boast

The introduction of a Perks System in Block N Load allows players to

  • Free PlayStation Plus Games for October 2015 are More Indie Games Nobody Ever Heard of Before

The free PlayStation Plus games for October 2015 were announced by Sony today. As usual, the folks at Sony totally didn't offer up full, $50-$60 retail games for those that pay roughly $4 per month. Pfft, how lame! Seriously, whomever heard of this Super Meat Boy game? And Broken Age? What hole in the wall studio did that crawl out of?

Look at these totally unknown Indie games that nobody has ever heard of before.
    • Super Meat Boy: PS4, PS Vita
    • Broken Age: PS4, PS Vita
    • Unmechanical: Extended: PS4, PS3
    • Chariot: PS3
    • KickBeat: PS3, PS Vita
    • Kung Fu Rabbit: PS3, PS Vita

  • Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition Departs in October

Driveclub PlayStation Plus Edition Departs in October

If you have PlayStation Plus and didn't grab the PS+ version of Driveclub, you should do so before October 6. On that date, it will go away forever but the paid version will still be around.

According to Sony, the free version of the game will no longer be available. Why? I don't know.

People are inexplicably upset over this for reasons that baffle and confuse me. It was not the full version of the game that was available for free, only the (often delayed) stripped down PlayStation Plus version of the game. It was up for roughly four months as a free offering....
