Desert Bus for Hope 2019 Charity Event Underway

Better late than never.

We're just a few days late in sharing this news with you, but when it comes to charity: Better late than never, right?

The latest annual charity drive (get it?) that is Desert Bus for Hope is well underway. A group of people have already spent three days driving across the desert, in real time, in an effort to raise money for charity. In three days and 6 hours, the crew has already raised over $388,400 for the Child's Play charity. The team is still going strong after all this time.

For those that don't know,...

Google Stadia Launch Games are Lacking

Stadia comes out of the gate already limping.

With the soft launch of Google Stadia rapidly approaching, it seems like we're beyond due for a look at the platform's launch lineup. Hell, we're probably beyond due for a look at the Stadia UI and full featureset, but that is another matter entirely.

Today, Google revealed a list of 12 games that will serve as the launch titles for when Stadia has a soft launch on November 19. For $130, you were able to get in on the ground floor of the launch of Stadia with the Founder's Edition. These kits have...

EA Working on Cross-Save and Progression Sharing Between Steam and Origin

Seems EA is serious about this return to Steam.

With the recent announcement that EA was making a return to Steam, a number of questions remained unanswered. A couple of those questions focused on whether or not there would be support for things like cross-save or even cross-progression between EA's own Origin platform and Steam.

Fortunately, we have a few promising answers today. Most developers don't like to split their communities and EA is no exception. It seems they are working to get Origin to work similar to how Ubisoft's Uplay works with...

Diablo 4 is Always Online and Includes Microtransactions

This is the Diablo you pictured, right?

Yesterday, Blizzard took time away from appeasing China to kick off their two day BlizzCon event for 2019. One of yesterday's big reveals was the announcement that Diablo 4 is coming. What they didn't share in their reveal announcement to the public is the fact that Diablo 4 will require an online connection.

Not only that, but Diablo 4 will include microtransactions. Of course, all of this has a chance to change over the course of development, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Speaking of development,...

Diablo 4 Officially Announced - First Details, Screens, and More

The franchise returns to its dark roots.

Another unsurprising reveal at this year's BlizzCon was the announcement of Diablo IV. The sequel to the colorful action-RPG that is Diablo III promises to tone back the color gamut a wee bit, with hopes of appeasing fans of Diablo II.

As with the other reveals made today, Diablo IV does not yet have a release date. However, we do know that it's in development for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. So far we know of three classes: Druid, Barbarian, and Sorceress. We also know that you will be traveling...

The SUPERHOT Team is happy to announce that a their first game, SUPERHOT, will be out on February 25 on the PC (Windows, Mac, and Linux) and on the Xbox One at a later date.

It's just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and maneuver through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets. From its origins in the 7 Day FPS game j

Concerns Grow as Players Find Easy Cheat Method in The Division Beta

The Division beta is currently ongoing and already players have found a severe flaw in the game's design. Apparently, all character stats are stored client side on the PC version of the game. This includes but is not limited to: player health, currency amount, player level, character speed, magazine/clip size, ammo capacity, medkit count, grenade count, and more. This essentially means that anybody playing the beta can, in theory, make themselves invincible killing machines that can run around faster than the Flash. The initial reports seem to have come from a...

  • Ubisoft Opposes EA Over the Use of the Word "Ghost"

Ubisoft Opposes EA Over the Use of the Word "Ghost"

Oh man, this is really stupid. It's not quite "Fine Bros. trademark the word 'react'" levels of stupid, but it's damn close. Ubisoft's legal team has filed an opposition to trademark registration against EA over the use of the word "Ghost."

See, Ubisoft makes those Ghost Recon games. EA has a game development studio that they called Ghost. Ghost made the last couple Need for Speed (Need for Speed Rivals (2013), Need for Speed (2015)) games. Ubisoft is worried that people are going to confuse the two totally separate uses of the word, Ghost, and that...

The Witness is Being Heavily Pirated Claims Creator

Jonathan Blow made some comments on Twitter (via GI.biz) earlier that finds the Indie developer questioning his future in the industry. The culprit is once again the industry boogeyman, piracy.
It seems The Witness is the #1 game on a certain popular torrent site. Unfortunately this will not help us afford to make another game!

I'm glad that a lot more people will be experiencing the game! But I also want to be able to make another comparable game next! Just sayin'.
Blow also mentioned how he doesn't really like to use DRM, but he is c...

GOG Introduces Early Access Program with a Twist

GOG.com announced their own early access program today for a variety of games. Unlike the games commonly offered through Steam Early Access, the ones from GOG will be more carefully vetted before being sold.

GOG promises that these "games in development" will be hand-picked and will offer no questions asked on refund requests.
"Our goal has always been to offer a selection of titles that are both excellent and worth your time. Nowadays, we're seeing more games that are already great experiences while still in development," says Piotr Karwowski,
