Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Even...

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

  • Now Deleted Borderlands 3 Tweets Suggest September 13 Release on Epic Store (Updated)

Earlier today, the official Borderlands 3 Twitter account put up some now deleted tweets. Normally this wouldn't be a "thing" to care about, but these particular tweets included some previously unknown information about the release of Borderlands 3.

Among the information revealed is the potential release date for the game. The date looks to be September 13, 2019. In addition, it seems as though pre-orders for the game will get access to the Gold Weapon Skins Pack, a similar pre-order bonus to the one offered with the release of Borderlands 2. It also seems as though...

  • More Details About the Valve Index VR Headset Revealed

More Details About the Valve Index VR Headset Revealed

It's no real secret that Valve has been working on a new in-house first-party VR headset. Images of their development units were seen back in July 2018. Just this past week, a special page on the Steam Store was discovered that makes it very clear Valve is almost ready to start selling their VR hardware to the world.

The page on Steam tells us that their headset is called the Valve Index and that we can expect to see additional details starting May 2019. That was pretty much all we knew through the weekend. However, earlier today a few additional pages were accidentally made...

  • The NBA Jam Announcer in Rage 2 is No Joke

The NBA Jam Announcer in Rage 2 is No Joke

I fully admit that I was about to ignore this email today. I believed it to be nothing more than yet another April Fools' joke, but it's apparently super real.

Bethesda announced today that the legendary announcer from the NBA Jam games, Tim Kitzrow, will be a special narrator voice in Rage 2. They're calling this special pre-order bonus the "'He's on Fire' cheat code" though it's probably just an option you can toggle on and off instead of an actual cheat code. Though with this game, I wouldn't completely rule out the notion that you may actually have to put in...

  • Valve Embraces Dota 2 Gambling

    Valve Embraces Dota 2 Gambling

There is no denying that Dota 2 is an esports juggernaut. As the game enters into its sixth year this Summer, the popular "multiplayer online battle arena" (MOBA) shows no signs of slowing down. Last year, the annual Dota 2 tournament, The International, offered the biggest esports payout of any single video game tournament. In fact, The International occupies the top five positions on the top esports earnings list.

This means that with the rise of Dota 2 esports comes the rise of the Dota 2 betting site. If there is a competition or a tournament for something, rest...

Players will encounter a number of dangers, explore mysterious ruins, fend off threats, and grow both their skills and arsenal to try to achieve victory....

    Judgment Announcement Trailer

Judgment has a new trailer available today. Sony put this new "announcement" trailer up on their YouTube page just a short time ago. We don't have any additional information to share with you about said trailer or the game, but that's just fine.

By the way, Judgment is still apparently on track to be released in the Americas on June 25, despite it being pulled from stores in Japan. Stalker 2 Announced Again for the Third Time

It was about ten years ago when Stalker 2 was first announced. Then, there was a long stretch of absolutely nothing. Last year, Stalker 2 was announced for the second time. Then, there was another stretch of absolutely nothing. Today, Stalker 2 has been announced for the third time.

Pathologic 2 Announced, Releasing this May

Pathologic 2 was shown off today during the Gearbox Publishing segment of today's Gearbox PAX panel. The game, still in development from tinyBuild, will be released on May 23, 2019 through Steam.

A new trailer for the game shows off just a taste of the game's creepy setting and disturbing cast of characters. The game is in first-person and can best be described as a "narrative-driven dramatic thriller." It's probably a good thing those are the exact words the dev team uses to describe their title then.

You are a medic trying to save the sick inhabitants...
