Report: E3 2023 is Canceled

This fate was inevitable.

According to a report by IGN, E3 2023 is canceled. This comes after weeks of publishers and gaming companies stating that they were not going to attend E3 this year, including Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Tencent, and more.

IGN's report from March 30 says that two separate sources confirmed with them that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA; the group behind E3) sent out emails to ESA members earlier today announcing the cancellation....

Valve Announces Counter-Strike 2

Valve's massively popular FPS gets an engine upgrade and a test starting today.

Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 today after weeks of teases, speculation, and rumors. The developer calls this "the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and I'm inclined to believe it.

Counter-Strike 2 will launch to everyone starting in Summer of 2023. Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some Counter-Strike:...

Sony's Jim Ryan Reportedly Said His Goal is to 'Block Your Merger' in Closed Door Meeting with Activision

The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment reportedly had some choice words during a meeting with Activision.

It has been a ridiculous day for Sony when it comes to new details that have come out about the company's opposition to the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger.

First, a new report from The Verge's Tom Warren shared some key pieces of information from documents (PDF download) that were recently submitted to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)....

Review: The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

An easy purchase for new players but maybe a hard sell for existing owners.

It was not until I reinstalled the original PC release of The Outer Worlds that I was able to really appreciate the improvements made with the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. Initially, I believed that this looked exactly like the same game that I had played on PC back in late 2019 when it first came out.

"I'm just not seeing what makes this Spacer's Choice Edition worth...

Valve shared their 2023 schedule of events with developers.

The entire schedule of big seasonal sales and themed Steam Fest events was shared yesterday by Valve. Now you'll know months in advance just how badly your bank accounts are going to hurt.

The list includes four major seasonal sales that include the spring, summer, autumn, and winter sales. In between most of these are small "Fest" events, which also typically have themed sales of their own. There will...

Hot on the heels of shutting down a totally harmless single player mod tool set, OpenIV, Take-Two has finally set their sights on the actual problem in GTA Online.

Rockstar Facing Backlash After Shutting Down GTA Modding Tool OpenIV

About 80% of the most recent 24,000+ Steam reviews for Grand Theft Auto V have been negative following the Take-Two Interactive shutdown of the popular GTA modding tool, OpenIV.

This community disgust doesn't just stop with the Steam reviews. Instead, it continues on to an ongoing petition at Change.org, which currently has nearly 25,000 signatures. The petition will be sent to both Take-Two and Rockstar.
The closing of OpenIV leaves 10,000s of people without access

Forza 7 Requires 100GB of Free Space at Launch

Forza Motorsport 7 is going to require a copious amount of free hard drive space when it launches later this year. While the PC system requirements did not seem to be too crazy, there was a noticeable omission of the HDD space requirements. The mystery remains no more because the game's store page was updated with that omission and boy is it a doozy. Both PC and Xbox One owners will need to have 100GB of free space for the game. This size was first noted by ...

Dying Light Getting 10 Free DLC Packs Over 12 Months

Techland said that they plan on continuing support of Dying Light for a period of 12 months, beginning later this year. This support will include at least ten free additional DLC packs for the game. An 11th pack is planned but this one is said to actually arrive before the start of the 12 month run. Dying Light, if you recall, first came out about three years ago. It still holds up very well to this day, but it is surprising that this content is planned in lieu of any sort of a sequel...

  • Poll: What Platform Do you Game on the Most?
    by Shawn Zipay
Do you prefer consoles? PC? Maybe mobile is your preferred platform?

This month's poll is a bit generic if only because I really don't know what to ask right now and this is the easiest thing that came to mind. The question is simple: Which sort of platform do you prefer to play games on?

Do you like playing on consoles? Do you prefer to play games on PC? What about mobile games? Maybe you prefer to spend most of your time on your phone playing this, that, or the other....
