Review: Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

15 years and a fresh coat of paint later.

Almost 15 years to the day that the original Age of Empires III was released comes the remastered Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Love it or hate it, the original certainly left an impression on fans of the franchise. I am not saying all those impressions were necessarily good, but they were impressions none the less.

What we have here is a remastering of one of the more divisive Age of Empires games released. Upon first...

AMD has revealed its new lineup of Ryzen 5000 processors for desktop PCs. These are the first CPUs to make use of the company's Zen 3 architecture and are, as you would expect, the most powerful processors to date. AMD even goes on to claim that the Ryzen 5900X is the "world's best gaming CPU."

Lower end models will be available and starting at $299 (USD) starting November 5. The new lineup begins with the entry-level Ryzen 5 5600X,...

A new grand RPG based on fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons, has entered into Early Access today. That's right, Baldur's Gate 3 is now available through Early Access on PC and Mac via Steam, GOG.com, and Stadia. This is just the start of the journey towards the game's full launch.

The team at Larian Studios say that they will be working directly with the community on iterating and improving the game. This includes adding new content...

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Delayed

Pre-patch also pushed out to October 13.

Blizzard just said that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the next major expansion for their still popular MMORPG, has been delayed. It has been pushed back now until "later this year" with a solid release date not yet revealed. As is typical for these sorts of delays, the delay was an "incredibly difficult decision for the team" but they ultimately feel as though it was the "right decision for the game--and for (the)...

Review: Crysis Remastered Is One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Maximum meh.

In 2007 the original Crysis was released for the PC. The big question on everyone's mind at the time, and even through to today, is "can your PC run Crysis?" Usually, the answer was "yes, but…" because even the beefiest of computer hardware had trouble maxing out the graphical options that Crysis brought to the table at the time.

Fast-forward to 2020 and the answer gets a bit more muddled. See, the original Crysis was very dependent on...

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition Rated in Brazil for PC, PS4, and XB1

Bulletstorm looks like it might be making a long-awaited return! A recent classification filing in Brazil lists a "Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition" for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

It looks to be published by Gearbox. The IP rights to the game are still owned by People Can Fly after they bought the rights back in 2015. The title certainly doesn't sound like a sequel but rather a remaster for current generation hardware. It also probably means that the...

    Titanfall 2 Single Player Cinematic

Titanfall 2 will include a proper single player campaign this go around, unlike the first game which included a campaign that felt tacked on, at best. Respawn Entertainment is starting to show off more of their SP campaign starting with today's release of a new cinematic trailer.
In the single player campaign, players will experience the story and relationship between Titan BT-7274 and 3rd Class Rifleman Jack Cooper, as they explore the mysterious planet of Typhon and discover the

Nidhogg 2 Announced with Axes, Bows, and a New Art Style

In 2014, Nidhogg was first released. It was as much a strategy game as it was an action game. Two opponents faced off using only their wits and fencing abilities to make it to the end while their opponent tries the same but in the opposite direction.

Cut to 2016 where Nidhogg 2 was just announced that looks to expand upon the ideas that made the original so damn fun to play. It also brings about a new art style that, in this journalist's opinion, looks terrible. ...

  • Final Fantasy Trading Card Game Finally Coming to North America

Final Fantasy Trading Card Game Finally Coming to North America

There has been a Final Fantasy trading card game that's been out in Japan for like six years and has had 15 expansions with 3.5 million booster packs sold. Did you know this? I didn't know this. I don't think anybody outside of Japan knew this, but it's apparently true. Square Enix said it's true and I believe them.

With that said, Square Enix announced today that the Final Fantasy Trading Card Game (FFTCG) will finally arrive in North America on October 28.

Nvidia Shows Off Titanfall 2 in 4K Resolution

4K is the big gaming buzzword of 2016 apparently. The latest Nvidia blog focuses on what it takes to get Titanfall 2 running at 60FPS at 4K resolution. In fact, they even released a video of the game running at the aforementioned resolution.
To experience that level of detail and fluidity at home, Respawn Entertainment is recommending gamers equip their systems with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, the only consumer graphics card capable of playing Titanfall 2 at 4K, at 60 FPS, at the time
