  • Former MotorStorm and Driveclub Devs Reveal ONRUSH Today at Paris Games Week

During the PlayStation live stream at Paris Games Week 2017, Codemasters revealed a new extreme style racing game was revealed called Onrush (stylized as ONRUSH). It looked a lot like the MotorStorm games in all but name and perhaps it's for good reason. Onrush is the first game by Codemaster's new team in Cheshire, UK. If you recall, Evolution Studios was picked up by Codemasters after Sony parted ways from the studio that developed the Motor Storm games in addition to Driveclub. So while...

    Spelunky 2 Was Announced Today

Just when you thought you were out, along comes an announcement that just pulls you right back in. That's right, Spelunky 2 was announced today during Sony's Paris Games Week 2017 presentation. It's not much. It is, after all, simply an announcement trailer. I expect we'll see more in the months ahead, especially when it comes to what platforms (besides PlayStation) that the game is coming out on. We do know that it's coming first to PS4 and PC via Steam. Beyond that? It's a mystery. ...

New Call of Duty: WWII Game Ready Drivers Released from Nvidia

  • Gaming Heroes Who Have Extended Their Franchises - In Some Seriously Surprising Ways

Fans of any franchise - be it pizza, films or even a certain animation which sent fans into a frenzy recently, are notoriously protective of their favourite characters, taking any change, alteration or extension as a personal affront.

In some cases, however, franchises which expand beyond their limits actually do so for the better - just look at these (sometimes surprising) examples!

  • Updated Final Fantasy XV PC System Requirements Revealed

Updated Final Fantasy XV PC System Requirements Revealed

Back in August, some of the system requirements for the PC version of Final Fantasy XV were shown off. Those specs were quickly pulled as they were not finalized. I mean, the early requirements said that the game would require 170GB of drive space, which is just absurd (if you're reading this in 2027, don't laugh too hard at this).

However, earlier today, the Windows 10 Store provided some updated minimum and recommended system requirements for the game. These specs "should"...

  • EA Forces Revive Network to Stop Distributing Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Heroes Game Clients

Back in 2014, GameSpy shut down their online services for good. This affected far more games than you may have realized, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Heroes. Without GameSpy, these games didn't have an easy way for anybody to play online. That's kind of a problem for games that are literally multiplayer only affairs. Since then, some user created mods popped up that aimed to replace the now defunct GameSpy. One of these mods was called Revive Network. Re...

Major Overhaul Coming to Steam Curators

Valve sent out word earlier that there is a major revamp coming to the Steam Curator system. To those unaware, Steam Curators is a way for actual human beings to suggest games to the Steam community at large. These Curators are typically led by people that range from influential YouTube personalities, game enthusiasts, critics, journalists, and the like. The system has been a mixed bag of hit and miss. A big focus for this total revamp from Valve is an overhaul in how Curators can interact wi...

  • Poll: Are You a Fan of Paying More to Play Early?
    by Shawn Zipay
Get that Premium Edition and play three days early!

Looks like the latest growing trend with game releases is to offer a more expensive Premium or Gold or whatever edition that grants you access to a game a few days ahead of its official release.

Starfield did it with their $99.99 (USD) Premium Edition. Today, Payday 3 is doing an "Early Access" release with their Silver and Gold editions. Diablo 4 did the same thing earlier in the year, as did Madden NFL 24,...

I think it's kind of dumb that people get to play earlier. Spending more shouldn't offer a "head start" on other paying customers.
