Amnesia: The Bunker Review (PC)

Frictional Games plays it safe. Perhaps a little too safe.

Frictional Games is known for crafting some of the most memorable horror game experiences over the past 15 years. They began with the Prenumbra series, a trio of titles that gave us our first taste of Frictional's penchant for blending survival horror with physics-based environmental puzzles. The studio then saw a spike in popularity with their next release, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Amnesia: The Dark Descent expanded upon the...

After Us Review (PS5)

After Us offers a glimpse of our future and a warning of things to come.

A gaming experience where you engage in thoughtful introspection, wordless encounters, and some platforming across Earth's many diverse locations to undo the devastation caused by global warming sounds like an intriguing idea on paper. Its execution in After Us, however, leaves quite a bit to be desired. Some awkward platforming, poor combat, and performance woes will ultimately leave you feeling a little less...

Redfall is Arkane's Worst Game Ever

It's also the worst "AAA" developed title in recent memory.

It was a struggle to finish Redfall. It was an absolute struggle thanks to performance issues, technical deficiencies, crashes, broken A.I., and uninspired quest design. It was the antithesis of fun and I pushed myself to complete the game out of pure spite.

Prior to playing Redfall, I saw Arkane as a studio that could do no wrong when it comes to their output. Dark Messiah of Might and Magic in 2006...

Latest Steam Beta Makes Major Overhaul to the In-game Overlay

Watch YouTube, take notes, chat, and more.

Valve just released a new beta update for Steam that includes a wealth of new features, updated old features, and some under the hood changes. While we don't typically write about updates released for the Steam Client Beta, this particular update had enough cool new features that it was worth a mention.

Right now, you can opt into the new beta for the Steam client that makes some drastic changes to the In-Game Overlay. Now, you...

UK Blocks Microsoft Activision Merger

The CMA claims the deal would harm cloud gaming.

Cloud gaming. Cloud gaming is the reason why the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK voted to block the $69 billion deal that would see Microsoft taking over Activision Blizzard.

The decision didn't come down to concerns over Call of Duty exclusivity or anything that would make some measure of sense. No, it came down to the CMA being concerned that the deal would "undermine new and innovative" competition...

Updated Windows 10 Game Mode will Turn Your PC into a Console

Microsoft announced via the Windows Experience Blog that an update is coming in the Fall Creators Update for the Windows 10 Game Mode. You know, that thing that said it would improve performance but kind of did the exact opposite for most PC users? Yeah, that thing! This new update, though, promises to improve things a bit and hopes to turn your PC into a console! Hell ye-wait, what?!

Official Nintendo Switch SanDisk Memory Cards Coming in October

Nintendo and SandDisk have teamed up to release officially licensed memory cards for the Switch. The beautiful part of this, is the fact that the photo seems to indicate that the only thing that is "Nintendo" about the actual stick is a small Switch logo on the stick and, of course, the packaging. The packaging that you... rip open... and throw... away. You couldn't even do something like "Mario Red" or "Link Green?"
The microSDXC cards will be available in capacities of 64 GB and

Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package Coming to PS4 this December

Looks like the year long's period of timed exclusivity for Dead Rising 4 is finally up. Capcom announced today that Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package is coming to the PlayStation 4 on December 5. As the title implies, the title that is not so subtly a nod to having a big dick (if you somehow didn't pick up on that), this release will include the game and all previously released downloadable content and bonus content.

Middle-earth: Shadow of War "Forthog Orc-Slayer" Trailer

WB Games and Monolith are just cranking these things out at a mile a minute, because we have yet another trailer for Middle-earth: Shadow of War to share today. This one is for "Forthog Orc-Slayer." Or maybe it's "Forthog Orc Slayer" or perhaps "Forthog Orcslayer?" I'm not really sure. This press release literally has three different spellings going on.

In all seriousness though, Monolith's latest trailer is a tribute to Executive Producer Mike Forgey. Forgey passed away in...

Destiny 2 is slated to be released on September 6 for consoles. The filthy PC crowd won't get it until October 24, almost two months after the console release.

Rumor: Destiny 2's First DLC Includes Rescuing Osiris

The latest Destiny 2 DLC rumor comes to us courtesy of Jason "Press Sneak Fuck" Schreier of Kotaku. This rumor suggests that the first piece of DLC will focus on the magical space wizard, Osiris, and will include a new patrol zone and new social space.

As always, the sources are anonymous, but Schreier's track record on rumors is pretty damn solid. The DLC is apparently called The Curse of Osiris and is slated to be released this December. There will be a new patrol area and...

Free PlayStation and Xbox Games for September 2017

It's that time of the month again. The time where we learn what the free games are for the upcoming month on both Xbox and PlayStation platforms. Of course, this is always limited to those that have Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus, but you probably know this by now.

First up are the Xbox Games with Gold titles that include Forza Motorsport 5, Oxenfree, Hydro Thunder Hurricane, and Battlefield 3. And if you, for some reason, don't believe me, maybe you'll believe Major ...

  • What June 2023 Games Releases Will You Buy?
    by Shawn Zipay
    It's a fairly stacked month.

May and into June is usually when the mid-year lull begins for new game releases. Yet here we are in June 2023 and there are some big games either already out or coming out in the weeks ahead.

There are several games coming out this month, many of which you might call "bangers" that you might just happen to have your eye on. This month's poll is simple and probably a retread of a poll (or several) that have been done in the past....
