Metal Gear Survive Apparently Has a Plot

Metal Gear Survive is the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V spin-off game that Konami is working on. Yeah, Konami still makes a game here or there, presumably when it's a slow season for pachislot. Metal Gear Survive finds you fighting for survival after Mother Base is nearly pulled into a wormhole following the events of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. This is already a really stupid plot, even by Metal Gear standards. I'm just going to let Konami's press release do the talking. ...

Bungie Outlines Its Plans for Major Destiny 2 Improvements

By the end of 2017, Destiny 2 found itself looking at a mixed bag of user reviews, despite the initial critical consensus being relatively strong. This gulf continues to grow between the critical response to Destiny 2 at launch and the current opinion of the fans. At release, things were relatively positive between everyone because the game was new and exciting. The possibility for the future was still wide open. As time wore on, the cracks began to become more and more apparent. The critics...

New Resident Evil Social Media Logo is Decidedly Old School

This past week, the various Resident Evil social media channels, such as Twitter and Facebook, updated with a new logo. It's so new that it's actually old, as in it's very reminiscent of the original Resident Evil logo from the original release of the first three games back on the PlayStation. Specifically, it looks a lot like the font and style used for the very first Resident Evil game back in 1996. For you youngsters out there that don't know there was a "PlayStation" before there was a...

  • Sharp Wits and Sharp Knives Come Together in SOS, Entering Early Access on January 23

Come January 23, you can pick up a copy of the new survival multiplayer game, SOS, for just $29.99 (USD) through Steam Early Access. The game is being developed by Outpost Games, a studio made up of former EA, YouTube, and Twitch veterans. I'm assuming this means that they worked at YouTube and Twitch and weren't just streamers? Let's go with that because it sounds a lot more plausible right now. SOS will put 16 players against each other in a "30-minute reality show-style challenge t...

  • Poll: Are You a Fan of Paying More to Play Early?
    by Shawn Zipay
Get that Premium Edition and play three days early!

Looks like the latest growing trend with game releases is to offer a more expensive Premium or Gold or whatever edition that grants you access to a game a few days ahead of its official release.

Starfield did it with their $99.99 (USD) Premium Edition. Today, Payday 3 is doing an "Early Access" release with their Silver and Gold editions. Diablo 4 did the same thing earlier in the year, as did Madden NFL 24,...

I think it's kind of dumb that people get to play earlier. Spending more shouldn't offer a "head start" on other paying customers.
