Report: E3 2023 is Canceled

This fate was inevitable.

According to a report by IGN, E3 2023 is canceled. This comes after weeks of publishers and gaming companies stating that they were not going to attend E3 this year, including Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Tencent, and more.

IGN's report from March 30 says that two separate sources confirmed with them that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA; the group behind E3) sent out emails to ESA members earlier today announcing the cancellation....

Valve Announces Counter-Strike 2

Valve's massively popular FPS gets an engine upgrade and a test starting today.

Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 today after weeks of teases, speculation, and rumors. The developer calls this "the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and I'm inclined to believe it.

Counter-Strike 2 will launch to everyone starting in Summer of 2023. Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some Counter-Strike:...

Sony's Jim Ryan Reportedly Said His Goal is to 'Block Your Merger' in Closed Door Meeting with Activision

The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment reportedly had some choice words during a meeting with Activision.

It has been a ridiculous day for Sony when it comes to new details that have come out about the company's opposition to the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger.

First, a new report from The Verge's Tom Warren shared some key pieces of information from documents (PDF download) that were recently submitted to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)....

Review: The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

An easy purchase for new players but maybe a hard sell for existing owners.

It was not until I reinstalled the original PC release of The Outer Worlds that I was able to really appreciate the improvements made with the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. Initially, I believed that this looked exactly like the same game that I had played on PC back in late 2019 when it first came out.

"I'm just not seeing what makes this Spacer's Choice Edition worth...

Mad Catz is Back with New PC Hardware

Last April, we reported that Mad Catz was no more. The studio had filed for bankruptcy following poor sales, namely from the lackluster sales of their Rock Band 4 peripherals. It didn't really help that they were the co-publisher for the game which failed to make waves as the franchise did back in its heyday.

However, Mad Catz is back. The company announced today that "Mad Catz is back in the game." Yes, the company that made your favorite third-party gaming peripherals is...

  • The Best Games on Steam in 2017

The Best Games on Steam in 2017

There were a lot of video games released in 2017. Most of those seem to have been released on Steam, even a metric ton that you probably have no idea even exist. I'm looking at you, oh let's just say... Evil Come. What with your two user reviews. Yeah, you.

Even still there were a lot of games that did get noticed in 2017. Games like Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt seemed to do a-ok in 2017, earning spots in the "Platinum" tier of the best sellers...

For the first time in literally years, the DLC for Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age II, and Dragon Age: Origins have appeared for sale on Origin. To be more specific, the DLC is available for sale in bundles for each game. Hey, it's still a step up from being only able to buy the DLC through BioWare using their BioWare Points. Who thought that was a smart thing to keep doing when Origin has been around for years? How did it literally take years for this to happen?! And why can you...

Jim French, the voice actor behind Bill in the Left 4 Dead games, passed away on December 21 at the age of 89.

Nintendo Delays 64GB Switch Game Cards Until 2019

At present, the physical game cards for Switch titles can only reach sizes of 32GB. That's not all that great for games that can easily be nearer to double that size. Meaning that even if you purchase the physical release, you may still be stuck with a huge download when you go to play. Nintendo originally planned to switch over to 64GB cards in the second half of 2018. It now looks like that plan has shifted until some time in 2019. Nintendo informed developers of this delay quite recently. T...

It is, at present, almost 6:30PM (ET) on Christmas Eve. For those of you with nothing to do, and even for those that still have everything to do, there is a special treat happening on Twitch right now. Jeff Kaplan, the game director for a little game called Overwatch, is sitting in front of a fireplace. We're looking at Desert Bus levels of action here. He's doing a whole lot of nothing, a whole lot of sitting, and it's glorious. He'll sometimes shift about in his seat. A few minutes...

  • Poll: What Platform Do you Game on the Most?
    by Shawn Zipay
Do you prefer consoles? PC? Maybe mobile is your preferred platform?

This month's poll is a bit generic if only because I really don't know what to ask right now and this is the easiest thing that came to mind. The question is simple: Which sort of platform do you prefer to play games on?

Do you like playing on consoles? Do you prefer to play games on PC? What about mobile games? Maybe you prefer to spend most of your time on your phone playing this, that, or the other....
