Speaking of the Yakuza developers, it was announced this week that both Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami are coming to the PC. This announcement sure came out of nowhere, that's for sure.
First up looks to be Yakuza 0, which you can pre-purchase right now on Steam for $17.99 (USD) with a 10% discount. This one will be released on August 1, 2018. As you may recall, I kind of really loved Yakuza 0. I'm sure I'll love it even more with an uncapped framerate and the option to go up... -

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise Comes to North America in October
A Western release for Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise was confirmed this week at E3. Sega announced a release date of October 2, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 action title.
Fist of the North Star is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. It's developed by the same studio that brought you the Yakuza franchise, as if that wasn't already apparent from some of the footage you'll see below. It also means that the game will include a lot of side missions and minigames to enjoy in between... -
Check Out About 13 Minutes of Resident Evil 2 Remake Gameplay
PlayStation offers up a 13 minute long video that showcases a generous helping of gameplay from the Resident Evil 2 remake. Which, btw, seems to just be called Resident Evil 2 and not Resident Evil 2 Remake as we kind of figured it would be.
It's looking good. It's looking real good.

Killing Floor 2 2018 Summer Sideshow Event Starts Today
The 2018 Summer Sideshow Event for Killing Floor 2 started earlier today on PC and consoles. This year, the action takes to the skies with the Treacherous Skies update. This event adds in new weapons, features, bosses, maps, and more. It also comes with a special discount for the game for the week through Steam along with a free weekend starting on June 14.

Cyberpunk 2077 Premiere Trailer, Screenshots, and First Gameplay Details
CD PROJEKT RED shared some additional details for Cyberpunk 2077 this week. We were also provided some nice 4K screenshots in addition to the E3 trailer, which you may have already seen.
There's no firm release date yet, but Cyberpunk 2077 is slated to be released on the PC, PS4, and XB1.

Sony Blocks Fortnite Cross-Play Between PS4 and Switch Players
Sony continues to baffle and anger fans with their archaic multiplayer stances. The latest is that players on the newly released Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite will not be allowed to play with those on the PlayStation 4 version. Switch owners can, however, play with Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile players. Even worse is the fact that players are now finding out that they cannot link their Epic accounts to the Switch version of the game if it's already been tied to their PSN account...

Valve Overhauls the Steam Chat System
For the first time in years, Valve has provided a drastic overhaul to the Friends and Chat system within Steam. It has an all-new look with some new functionality such as embedding things like images, Giphy links, Twitter, Twitch, and even YouTube. You can even use something like /giphy to insert a random Giphy image, because that seems safe?
It's got improvements to group chats, improvements to voice chat, it has a two week long chat history you can keep, it has a new "persona" invisible mode, a new way to rename friends, a new way to trade, a new way to add friends, and more!
You can try this new functionality out in two different ways. You can either opt into the current Steam client beta by going to Steam > Settings > Account and opting into the currently available beta OR you can try it out via your web browser.... -

Destiny 2: Forsaken to Introduce Gambit Multiplayer Activity
A new multiplayer "activity" for Destiny 2 coming with the Forsaken expansion is said to deliver an experience with an "upwards trajectory of fun." This is of course if you believe the remarks made by design lead Lars Bakken. He's talking about the new Gambit multiplayer activity which was revealed earlier today.
Boiled down, Gambit is a competitive, team-based speed run, hooked around four core steps: fight, collect, bank, invade (all four of which can be happening simultaneously).... -

It's been almost exactly one year since we last heard or saw anything concerning Transference from Ubisoft and SpectreVision. Thankfully, Elijah Wood once again came out on stage this year to finally provide some additional details on what Transference actually is. Hint: It's a psychological thriller.
A quick note here: Transference can be played with or without a VR device. It will also be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this Fall.
