Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

  • 2018 Games of the Year

    2018 Games of the Year

A week or two ago I took you through some of the games I felt were the worst video games in 2018. There were a variety of reasons included for why those games made that list, ranging from the games just being broken to the games just being boring.

Today, we're going in the opposite direction. Today, we are going to look at some of the best games of 2018. The list, with one exception is in no real particular order. I will try to keep it brief since this is probably already a...

This weekend's rumor of a free-to-play Titanfall branded battle royale game sure picked up traction in a hurry. However, since then it seems that other sources are now coming forth to say that "yes, there is actually some merit to this rumor."

Apparently, a free-to-play Titanfall battle royale game will be released this Monday. The release will happen on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation...

An Official Groundhog Day VR Game was Just Announced

The original Groundhog Day movie came out back in 1993. It starred the always fantastic Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. It was written and directed by Egon himself, Harold Ramis (may he rest in peace).

The premise was simple: A weatherman (Murray) is stuck in Punxsutawney, PA doomed to repeat February 2, otherwise known as "Groundhog Day," for all eternity. It was part comedy, part depressing realizations, and part romance all rolled into a single film set in one...

Cyberpunk Thriller '>observer_' Arrives on Nintendo Switch February 7

One of my favorite games from 2017, Observer (stylized as >observer_), is coming to at least one more platform. That platform is none other than the Nintendo Switch. On February 7, the cyberpunk world of Observer will put your detective skills to the test for $29.99.

Observer was developed by Bloober Team, the Indie team that also developed Layers of Fear, which I also greatly enjoyed. The game is already out for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 if those are your preferred platform. ...

Ace Combat 7 Released on PC Today

The PC release of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is finally here. It arrived a bit later than its console versions. The PC version seems to be only available through Steam. I'm just as surprised as you are.

If you purchase the game before March 4, 2019, you will get the "Launch Edition" of the game at no extra charge. This includes a playable F-4E Phantom II aircraft, and three skins from the previous games (Su-37: Yellow 13, F-14D: Razgriz, F-15C: Pixy). This can be...

  • As Fallout 76 Flounders German GameStops are Giving Away the Game for Free with Used Controller Purchase

GameStop locations in Germany really seem to want to rid themselves of their Fallout 76 stock. It's apparently gotten to the point there that they are giving away free copies of Fallout 76 with every purchase of a used PlayStation 4 controller.

A user on Reddit, cenorexia, shared a photo at their local GameStop showing an announcement of the promotion.

As if that wasn't enough, some users in that Reddit thread actually pointed out that it would be cheaper to fly...

Subnautica: Below Zero has been released into Early Access today on the Epic Games Store (non-affiliate link here), through Discord, and on Steam. The game is set one year after the events in the original Subnautica. This time, the (mostly) underwater exploration takes place near an alien research station on Planet 4546B.

This game is very much the definition of "Early Access" in that the release lacks content and is very buggy. Those who went through the long stretch...
