EA to Skip Annual Press Conference at E3 2019
EA announced today that they will not hold their regular EA Play press conference this year. EA Play is still going to happen, it's just that there isn't going to be a press conference to kick it off like we're used to. Instead, they will focus on having "multiple live streams" that they plan to air during EA Play.
EA now joins Sony in their decision to forego the annual press conferences at or around E3 time. Sony announced back in November 2018 that they were not... -

Nintendo Switch Getting Labo VR Kit in April
The cardboard industry is about to get another big boom in April. Nintendo announced the Nintendo Labo: VR Kit for the Nintendo Switch this week. It's slated to hit stores on April 12 and includes a basic kit, a big kit, and two optional expansions.
From the descriptions of the kit, it sounds a lot like Google Cardboard with the added benefit of having various motion controls added in via the Switch Controllers. For kids, it's probably going to be amazing.

Players Discover that Anthem's Most Powerful Weapons are the Ones You Start With
Today, a little "PSA" went up on the Anthem subreddit that says clearly that the level 1 weapons players start the game with are the most powerful weapons in the game.
If you think that doesn't make much sense, you would be correct but there are multiple confirmations showing that this is indeed what is going on. Reddit user YeetLordSupreme found that a level 1 common Defender rifle can take down a basic enemy in just four shots. Meanwhile, they found that their level 45 masterwork "Ralner's Blaze" rifle takes six shots to take down the very same enemy.
This is in spite of the basic weapon showing damage of just 286 per shot compared to the 1184 damage per shot with the level 45 weapon. ... -

Counter-Strike Update Reduces CPU Usage by up to 40%
Valve just released a new update for Counter-Strike: Global OFfensive today that should provide a nice boost to performance for some players. Included in today's update is an optional command line switch that can reduce CPU usage by up to 40%.
Don't forget that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a free-to-play game available on Steam. You can bump yourself up to "CS:GO Prime" status for about $15.

Judgment to Release in Americas and Europe on June 25
Late last night, Sega announced that Judgment will be released in the Americas and throughout Europe on June 25. This reveal came last night via Twitter along with a few additional details about a pre-order bonus.
Fans of the Yakuza games will want to keep an eye on this one. Why's that? Because it's set in the same world as the Yakuza franchise, made by the same developers, and contains some of the same gameplay elements. However, this is not a Yakuza game, it's merely a spin-off.... -

Valve Decides 'Rape Day' Maybe Isn't a Good Game for Steam
It took some time, but Valve has finally decided that a visual novel "game" about raping women during a zombie apocalypse maybe isn't a good fit for Steam.
The game is (was?) called Rape Day and the premise is pretty much what I said in the line above. The game glorified verbally harassing women, killing them, and raping them throughout the story. The game was under review from Valve and, after multiple articles went up about the game, did Valve see fit to pull its... -

Microsoft Reportedly Releasing an All-Digital Xbox One in May
The "all digital future" may be closer than you think if a new rumor is to be believed. According to Brad Sams from Thurrott.com, Microsoft is getting ready to release an Xbox One S console that doesn't have a disc drive.
Sams says that the internal codename for this device is "Xbox Maverick" with the public facing name being "Xbox One S All-Digital Edition." Pre-orders are apparently slated to go live mid-April with a release possibly coming as... -

The Division 2 Launch Trailer
With Tom Clancy's The Division 2 coming out in just 10 days (March 15, 2019), it seems like a wholly appropriate time for a launch trailer. On March 15th, The Division 2 will take PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC players to our nation's capital, Washington, D.C.
You can pick up The Division 2 for the PC from either the Epic Games Store (affiliate link) or from the Ubisoft Store. As it stands, The Division 2 is sadly not available through Steam. ... -

Destiny 2 'Season of the Drifter' Update 2.2.0 Changelog
We all drift down here.
That's right, Destiny 2's "Season of the Drifter" is out today and that means a new update for the game has come out. Today, Bungie released the 2.2.0 update that contains all sorts of changes and additions and probably nerfs to your favorite class that used to be able to skate around at mach speeds but can no longer do so because "screw you, Zips!"
What was I saying?
Oh right, Season of the Drifter is the latest content release for Destiny 2. Let's just look at the changelog before I forget what I was doing again. ... -

Watch the One Piece World Seeker Opening Cutscene
Or don't. I'm not your boss.
There is a new video out today for One Piece World Seeker courtesy of Bandai Namco. The new video isn't like a normal trailer. It is instead the opening video to the game. Players will get to find out how "Luffy and his friends' adventure kicks off."
For those unaware, you control one Monkey D. Luffy (that's seriously his name?) as he explores the dreaded Prison Island. Prison Island, for those who don't know, has been wrecked... -

THQ CEO Offers Largely Hollow Apology Following Disgusting AMA
It's been roughly one week since THQ Nordic GmbH decided to do an AMA on 8chan, a site that is best known for allegations that they host and link to suspected child pornography, a site that contains rampant racism, a site that engages in harassment campaigns, and a site that engages in doxxing. These are just a few of their most notable "issues." Again, it's a place where people go when even 4chan thinks they're too fucked up.
It took THQ Nordic over 15 hours to remove... -

Apex Legends Surpasses 50 Million Players and 1 Mozambique Kill
It feels like less than a month ago when we found out that Apex Legends was sitting at over 25 million players. Oh, it was less than a month ago when that news popped up. Today, the team at Respawn Entertainment announced that they have now surpassed 50 million unique players.
If you do the math, that's about... carry the 1, divide the 0... yeah, that's double what they were at back on February 11. There isn't too much else to add here. In case you don't know, Apex Legends is... -

CD Projekt RED Announces Crimson Curse, the First GWENT Expansion
Crimson Curse is the newly announced and first ever expansion for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game. He's back and with him comes new monsters, new villains, and new heroes.
This expansion will add in over 100 new cards across all playable factions in GWENT. New afflictions include Poison and Bleeding. Players will now also be able to... -
