Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Even...

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

  • Blizzard Rolling Out 60 Tickrate Update for Overwatch

Blizzard Rolling Out 60 Tickrate Update for Overwatch

Even before its launch, people were raising hell about the poor tickrate situation in Overwatch. It was discovered that the client tickrate was roughly 20 while the servers sat at roughly 60 updates per second. This led to many situations such as being pulled through walls by Roadhog. Or maybe you saw a Killcam where you knew your character was in a slightly different location than what they enemy's feed conveyed.

Yes, some of these issues are merely related to lag, but a lot did have to do with the unfortunate beast that is the 20 updates per second for clients. Fortunately, Blizzard has heard the complaints and is rolling out an update that...

PSA: No Man's Sky on PC is a Technical Dumpster Fire

It seems as though the PC release of No Man's Sky is a bit of a clusterfuck right now. People all over are reporting technical issues that range from being unable to play the game to getting far below expected performance even on the latest and greatest video cards.

A "PC Performance Thread" on NeoGAF has generated literally hundreds of replies in the past few hours from people encountering stuttering, a 30fps cap, ALT+TAB not working, a complete lack of anisotropic filtering, and more. This is assuming that people can get the game to even run as many are simply unable to do so. Steam users making use of the ...

  • Xbox One was Best Selling Console Last Month in US, First Time Since October 2015

For the first time since October 2015, the Xbox One was the best selling console in the United States. In case there is any question, the other months were occupied with the PlayStation 4 as the top seller in the US. Microsoft issued a brief statement ahead of next week's NPD sales figures. They said that they are "honored that Xbox One was the best-selling console in the U.S." They go on to say that the hours that consumers spent using all Xbox products was up "18 percent" over the same period last year. At last check, the PlayStation 4 continues to be the uncontested top selling console worldwide. Xbox One sales fig...

  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Dota 2 Announcer Pack Reveal

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Dota 2 Announcer Pack Reveal

There is a Deus Ex: Mankind Divided announcer pack that could potentially be added to Dota 2. I say "could" because the community still needs to vote it in on the Steam Community, but I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that it will be added.

Yes, the announce pack if of none other than Adam Jensen, voiced by Elias Toufexis and was officially created by Eidos Montreal.

And if that doesn't tickle your fancy, maybe the Rick and Morty pack is more to your liking?...
