Bethesda Celebrates 25 Years of Elder Scrolls with a Morrowind Giveaway

Bethesda is celebrating 25 years of The Elder Scrolls today. On this day back in 1994, Bethesda released the first Elder Scrolls title called The Elder Scrolls: Arena for DOS. And while it's not that easy to play the original Elder Scrolls on modern machines, you should still be able to play The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

It's probably a good thing that FOR TODAY ONLY (March 25, 2019), you can get a free copy of Morrowind to keep forever and ever for the life of the Bethesda.net Launcher. Here is how you can snag your free copy of Morrowind, plus some other freebies. Do...

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Announced, Pre-orders Available Now

After multiple weeks and a few months of teases, including a long running ARG surrounding a dating app called Tinder, we now have an official announcement of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Paradox Interactive made the big reveal just moments ago via a GDC party. The party was "supposed" to be for a new Tinder reveal but thanks to some unintentionally cheesy live-action role playing, it turned out to be a big reveal for Bloodlines 2.

This is a direct sequel to the previous title that came out back in 2004 on the very same day that Half-Life 2 was released....

Valve Finally Shows Off New Steam UI Overhaul

An update to the Steam user interface and library has been in the works at Valve for years now. Today, the company finally feels comfortable enough to show off their Steam UI overhaul and did just that during a presentation at GDC 2019. I'd like to first thank Game Informer and PC Gamer (and again) for a lot of the information and screenshots you'll see below.

Library
First up, let's talk about the changes coming to how your Library will look and function with this new update. The Friends list is now integrated into a column on the right side. No idea if this is an optional...

Nintendo Embraces Indie - Cuphead, Darkwood, a Dancing Zelda, and More Revealed Today for Switch

Are you ready for the invasion of the Indies on the Nintendo Switch? Earlier today, a new Nindies Showcase for Spring 2019 outlined a good number of independent developed titles that are coming soon to the portable console otherwise known as the Switch.

Some of the highlights in today's announcement include Cuphead from Studio MDHR. This one will be out on April 18. In addition, Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring the Legend of Zelda was also announced today. This rhythm-action title takes its catchy tunes to Hyrule and features playable Link and Princess...

The Outer Worlds, Remedy's Control, Detroit: Become Human, and More Announced as Epic Games Store Timed Exclusives

As part of today's GDC presentation, Epic Games announced a number of timed exclusives that are coming first to the Epic Games Store. Among these games are The Outer Worlds, Control from Remedy Entertainment, and even some PlayStation 4 exclusives like Detroit: Become Human from Quantic Dream.

Some of these titles, such as The Outer Worlds, will also appear on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10. I guess this just lends more confirmation that Epic is less about purchasing exclusives and more about simply paying companies to keep their games off of Steam. Consumers should not...

System Shock Remake - Full Medical Level Gameplay Video

In addition to this week's sneak peak at System Shock 3 from OtherSide Entertainment, we get a long look at the System Shock remake. This remake is being handled by Nightdive Studios. Today, they released a 21-minute long gameplay video. This video shows off a full level of gameplay. Specifically, the "Medical" level is shown off here.

The team makes sure to note that this is pre-alpha footage and not at all final yet. They say that the level still has missing enemies, weapons, effects, and sounds.

The original System Shock is roughly 25 years old now....

  • Third I.G.I. Game in Development

    Third I.G.I. Game in Development

A third entry in the I.G.I. franchise is currently in development. I.G.I. stands for "I'm Going In" and the first game, Project I.G.I., was released back in 2000 from Innerloop Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. It had a sequel, I.G.I.-2: Covert Strike, that came out back in 2003.

I suppose 16 years after the last game is as good a time as any for a sequel. The series has a focus on tactical stealth action. It is an FPS and will actually serve as a prequel to the previous two titles. It's currently in development from Toadman Interactive, a dev studio made...

    System Shock 3 GDC Teaser

As part of the Unity keynote at GDC 2019, a new teaser trailer for System Shock 3 was shown off. I suppose that also confirms that System Shock 3 is being built on Unity. I think that was already known prior to this? Perhaps not.

  • Call of Duty: Mobile Announced

    Call of Duty: Mobile Announced

Call of Duty: Mobile was announced today. Take your favorite maps, modes, and characters with you in the palm of your hand from across the various Call of Duty stories. The game is being developed by Tencent's studio, Timi. It's coming for both Android and iOS and will also include multiple game modes when released.

It will be published by Activision, obviously. It will be a free-to-play title at release. I'm assuming that the game will contain in-app purchases. I would be absolutely shocked if it didn't.

If you already know you're on board with this, you can...

  • Nvidia Announces Real-time Ray Tracing for Older GTX Cards

Nvidia Announces Real-time Ray Tracing for Older GTX Cards

Nvidia just announced today that they are bringing real-time ray tracing to their GTX lineup of cards. This support will begin with a driver update currently slated for some time in April.

Get ready to have your framerates destroyed. Think about it this way: Nvidia's RTX cards have special hardware that is dedicated to handling the load of real-time ray tracing. Even with this special hardware, enabling real-time ray tracing still destroys framerates on these new cards.

Now they're going to add support for it on to their older cards? It will certainly make your...

Half-Life 3 Again Teased by Potentially Fake Email from Valve's Gabe Newell

It is *checks non-existent watch* now three months into 2019, which means it's about that time again for another Half-Life 3 rumor. This one comes directly from Valve's Gabe Newell himself!

    Well, maybe.

Honestly, it's probably fake but I know what pulls people in to the site and this is certainly going to do it for a little bit.

All of this begins with the latest video from "Valve News Network (VNN)," a YouTube channel that never, ever, ever (heavily implied sarcasm here) exaggerates or simply pulls things out of their ass. Get them clicks!...

In his time at Valve, Faliszek is credited for having worked on the writing for the Portal franchise along with bringing Left 4 Dead to the world. Voll is leaving her position as the principal technical game designer at Riot.

Faliszek shared a story that helped lead the two to form Stray Bombay. This is a story that he received...
