Report: E3 2023 is Canceled

This fate was inevitable.

According to a report by IGN, E3 2023 is canceled. This comes after weeks of publishers and gaming companies stating that they were not going to attend E3 this year, including Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Tencent, and more.

IGN's report from March 30 says that two separate sources confirmed with them that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA; the group behind E3) sent out emails to ESA members earlier today announcing the cancellation....

Valve Announces Counter-Strike 2

Valve's massively popular FPS gets an engine upgrade and a test starting today.

Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 today after weeks of teases, speculation, and rumors. The developer calls this "the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and I'm inclined to believe it.

Counter-Strike 2 will launch to everyone starting in Summer of 2023. Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some Counter-Strike:...

Sony's Jim Ryan Reportedly Said His Goal is to 'Block Your Merger' in Closed Door Meeting with Activision

The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment reportedly had some choice words during a meeting with Activision.

It has been a ridiculous day for Sony when it comes to new details that have come out about the company's opposition to the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger.

First, a new report from The Verge's Tom Warren shared some key pieces of information from documents (PDF download) that were recently submitted to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)....

Review: The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

An easy purchase for new players but maybe a hard sell for existing owners.

It was not until I reinstalled the original PC release of The Outer Worlds that I was able to really appreciate the improvements made with the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. Initially, I believed that this looked exactly like the same game that I had played on PC back in late 2019 when it first came out.

"I'm just not seeing what makes this Spacer's Choice Edition worth...

Uncharted Live-Action Fan Film with Nathan Fillion

For years, fans have said, "Nathan Fillion would be the perfect actor to portray live-action Nathan Drake from Uncharted!" I mean literally years this has been said. It didn't hurt that they both somewhat sound alike and they sure as hell look alike.

So when Nathan Fillion teased some Uncharted reveal for today, it set the fans into a little frenzy. What could it be? We already know Fillion (currently) doesn't have anything to do with the professional Uncharted film that is being worked on. But what if a fan made a film...?...

How One Letter Completely Broke Aliens: Colonial Marines AI

This is a little piece of interesting news I'm starting to see make the rounds this evening. About five years after its disastrous release, it has been discovered that a single letter managed to break a significant part of the A.I. for Aliens: Colonial Marines.

The creator the highly regarded overhaul mod called TemplarGFX's Aliens Colonial Marines Overhaul, found that because a programmer misspelled the word "Tether" in an .ini file, most of the A.I. became a massively dumbed...

  • Resident Evil 4 HD Project Released, Giving an Old Classic a Massive Visual Boost

The latest release of the Resident Evil 4 HD Project is available to be downloaded. Weighing in at a hefty 28.5GB, this release overhauls nearly every texture for Resident Evil 4 HD that came out for the PC a few years back. The mod was created because despite the "HD" in the game's name, the texture work by Capcom was severely lacking. Two modders, who just happened to live near the area where the original textures were sourced from, began this project nearly three and a half ...

There's a new "ABCs of Happiness" trailer out today for We Happy Few. That's kind of it. That's all this press release said so let me add in some filler information here so that this isn't a barebones post.

We Happy Few will be released on August 10, 2018 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It will retail for $59.99 (USD).

New Uncharted Reveal Teased by Nathan Fillion, But Possibly Not for a Movie

Nathan Fillion took to Instagram to poke the bear that is his 866K followers by teasing a few things related to the Uncharted franchise.

The first came a day ago when Fillion put up a picture of the singer Drake. Drake obviously being the last name of Nathan Drake, the main character from the games. It includes the date of July 16, 2018 along with the phrase "sic parvis magna" which was used in the Uncharted franchise. It roughly translates to "from small things comes greatness."...

  • Poll: What Platform Do you Game on the Most?
    by Shawn Zipay
Do you prefer consoles? PC? Maybe mobile is your preferred platform?

This month's poll is a bit generic if only because I really don't know what to ask right now and this is the easiest thing that came to mind. The question is simple: Which sort of platform do you prefer to play games on?

Do you like playing on consoles? Do you prefer to play games on PC? What about mobile games? Maybe you prefer to spend most of your time on your phone playing this, that, or the other....
