Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Xbox Confirms PlayStation 5 Releases, Diablo 4 on Game Pass, and Future Hardware Plans

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

We dropped the ball on the original launch lineup, I fully admit that. However, I aim to correct that oversight by telling you about the SEGA Genesis Mini and the games that are coming with it. Shoppe Keep 2 Leaving Early Access this Month

Excalibur Games announced today that Shoppe Keep 2 will leave Early Access status come April 25. By my non-existent watch that is just one week away from today. When that day comes the game will reach the coveted version 1.0 that many dream of hitting.

Shoppe Keep 2 places you in the shoes of a town merchant, one that you would typically find in your typical fantasy RPG. You sell armor, food, clothes, magical potions, and the like. You set the prices and ensure you have a good...

Mortal Kombat 11 Shao Kahn Reveal Trailer

Those that pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 will get immediate access to Shao Kahn. It seems like it's only natural that we see a proper reveal trailer for him. NetherRealm and WBIE aren't quite done just yet. They promise another gameplay reveal is coming on April 22 at 3PM (CDT) via Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, and other social media sites.

But first, it's Shao Kahn's time to shine. He's big, he's a bad guy, that's kind of his thing. Mortal Kombat 11 will be available starting April...

How to Stay Safe When Playing Online Games

No matter who you are or how old you may be, you run the very real risk of exposing yourself online. No, I do not mean it that way, so get your minds out of the gutters.

No, we are instead referring to the fact that whenever you are connected to the Internet, be it browsing a website or playing your favorite online game like Fortnite or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you are exposed to a huge number of nefarious actors that could potentially spy on you. People you do not...

Vulkan Support Added to No Man's Sky, Promises Better Performance

If there is one thing that is critical to a game having VR support, it's making sure that the base game can run well on capable hardware. A VR experience with poor performance and framerates isn't a VR experience that you want to have. Fallout 4 VR, I'm looking at you.

It's perhaps a good thing then that Hello Games just launched a new experimental branch update for No Man's Sky that adds Vulkan support to the game. The performance gains should be felt by most players, especially...

    Xbox One SAD Edition Announced

Microsoft officially announced a new Xbox One SKU today. It's called the 1TB Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, or the Xbox One SAD Edition if you're feeling cheeky. As you may have already gathered from the name, there is no optical drive included on this Xbox One.

It's just like a normal Xbox One S except you can't play any disc-based games. You can only download games or stream them. So just like the regular Xbox One S, you can still pre-order games, pre-load games, save games...

Valve Being Sued by Native American Nation Over Skins Gambling

Native American Quinault Tribal Nation members have filed a lawsuit in the state of Washington against Valve over skins gambling. The group accuses Valve of participating in "unethical, oppressive, and unscrupulous business conduct."

The plaintiffs own and operate the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. They argue that Valve has engaged in unfair competition with legally licensed gambling operations. Valve does not have a license to conduct gambling operations. The lawsuit argues that because Valve does not have a gambling license they are illegally facilitating gambling through the trade of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skins ...

Live-Action Minecraft Movie Targeting 2022 Release

There is a live-action Minecraft movie in the works. Unfortunately for fans, the movie won't be released until at least 2022. Specifically, the planned date for release is March 4, 2022. That's roughly three years from the time of this post. We're going to have flying cars and hoverboards by then, and they expect us to still be playing Minecraft?

Well, if people still are playing Minecraft in three years, they'll have the following plot to look forward to. This is a small bit...

Major Security Hole Patched in Origin Client

On Monday, a client update for EA's Origin was released that patched up a rather significant security hole in the game client. According to a proof-of-concept investigated by TechCrunch, an attacker with knowledge of the security hole could have run any app they wanted to on the victim's computer.

This flaw was originally discovered by security researchers Daley Bee and Dominik Penner of Underdog Security. The two found that the flaw allowed them to run any app on a victim's...
