From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Multiple studios across all SIE regions impacted.

Sony just laid off about 900 people across multiple PlayStation studios around the world. These 900 or so laid off employees account for roughly 8% of the total workforce for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, announced the layoffs to the public today. The public statement came after an email was sent to all employees informing them of the layoffs. From Ryan's...

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

World War Z Boasts Over 1 Million Units Sold Across All Platforms

In its first week of launch, Saber Interactive's World War Z has sold over 1 million units. This sales milestone is cumulative across all of its available platforms, which currently include PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Curiously, there are no solid figures that break down exactly how many units per platform were sold. However, Saber Interactive does seem to praise the "tremendous support of the Epic Games Store."

    As we have talked about...

Mortal Kombat 11 is Now Available

It has begun! Mortal Kombat 11 is now available on the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Mortal Kombat 11 is a fighting game developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It has microtransactions to speed up the gear unlock rate. You may or may not want to do this. NetherRealm is already looking to address the game's grindy economy.

So far, most professional critics have largely praised the game with the exception being the already...

As such, Sony and Bend Studio released a new, and final, gameplay trailer for Days Gone. The trailer aims to show off just one more glimpse of the world players will strive to survive in on April 26, 2019.

Sadly, the emphasis needs to be placed on "glimpse" because...

  • Critical Mode Coming to Kingdom Hearts 3 Tomorrow

Critical Mode Coming to Kingdom Hearts 3 Tomorrow

Kingdom Hearts 3 came out near the tail end of January. However, it was lacking a critical feature that fans were eager to play. That feature is none other than the Critical Mode difficulty level. This would be the fourth difficulty for the game, joining the base game's Beginner Mode, Standard Mode, and Proud Mode.

The details about Critical Mode are rather light right now. Kingdom Hearts designer Tetsuya Nomura said only that the team has "changed things up from the previous...

Warhammer: Chaosbane Second Beta Phase Trailer

A trailer is here highlighting the big opening for the second phase of the closed beta for Warhammer: Chaosbane. So I guess this is a double whammy of a news post here. Not only is there a new trailer for this second phase of the beta, but it's also news that the second phase of the beta is now live.

    Neat.

This beta is still "closed" in the sense that it's only available for those that pre-ordered the game. If you haven't done that, you can still get into...

A remake of the old(er) FPS known simply as XIII was announced today. The game features cel-shaded visuals and David Duchovny as the voice of the titular main character. The original originally came out back in 2003 and somehow attained "cult classic" status.

The remake will be out on November 13, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. The game itself is based on the first five volumes of the comic book series of the same name. The XIII remake is being handled by PlayMagic and will be published by Microids. ...

Sega Announces Another Ten Titles Coming with the Sega Genesis Mini

We dropped the ball on the original launch lineup, I fully admit that. However, I aim to correct that oversight by telling you about the SEGA Genesis Mini and the games that are coming with it. Prior to today only ten games were known. Today, another ten games join those original ten and we're going to tell you what all of those are. ...

Shoppe Keep 2 Leaving Early Access this Month

Excalibur Games announced today that Shoppe Keep 2 will leave Early Access status come April 25. By my non-existent watch that is just one week away from today. When that day comes the game will reach the coveted version 1.0 that many dream of hitting.

Shoppe Keep 2 places you in the shoes of a town merchant, one that you would typically find in your typical fantasy RPG. You sell armor, food, clothes, magical potions, and the like. You set the prices and ensure you have a good...
