Happy birthday, Half-Life!

On Sunday, November 19, 2023, Half-Life officially turns 25 years old. To commemorate this crazy milestone for this awesome game and franchise, Valve is giving away the original game along with releasing a major update.

First up, Valve has made the original Half-Life free to keep to anybody that adds it to their Steam library this weekend. If you somehow do not own the original Half-Life, take this opportunity to add it to your account now and...

Alan Wake 2 Review: A Must-Play Psychological Horror Experience

Easily, the best horror game in years.

In 2010 Remedy Entertainment released Alan Wake, a game where a writer is pulled into a horrifying world seemingly of his own creation. Alan Wake was a game that I bounced off at least two times. Despite the game being well received by critics and fans, I felt like its gameplay was just a repetitive slog that even its unique story could not overcome. When a sequel was announced by Remedy, I found myself extremely indifferent to the news. Still...

As it turns out, this corporate version of Mr. Bones' Wild Ride does actually end.

Activision Blizzard King are now officially a part of Team Xbox. As of today, all Activision Blizzard studios and their teams are a part of the Xbox division at Microsoft. This also means that Activision Blizzard IPs such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Candy Crush Saga, and hundreds more are now owned by Microsoft.

This entire saga of a tale began back on January 18, 2022...

My new daily driver.

We are once again delving into the world of gaming headsets, this time with a spotlight shining brightly on Nacon's RIG 900 MAX HX. Priced at $249.99 (USD), the 900 MAX HX aims to be a more premium and feature-filled offering than the RIG 600 PRO HS we recently reviewed. Featuring the same dual-wireless connectivity as the 600 PROs, the 900 MAX HX sets itself apart thanks to Dolby Personalized audio support with Dolby Atmos 3D, plus a charging base station, a more...

Review: Starfield

A safe, if not soulless, journey through the cosmos.

Bethesda Game Studios releases are safe. They are familiar. You know almost exactly what to expect when a major new release from them rolls around. They instill a feeling of "I know this game won't be groundbreaking, but I know I'll have fun." Yes, there are some obvious differences, but the heart of each Bethesda game is almost universally the same. The recent release of Starfield is no different. To put it bluntly: Starfield is Fall...

New Video for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid Features Lord Drakkon

A new trailer for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid came out today. In it, we get a better look at the Lord Drakkon character that is included in this fighting game.

I haven't seen Power Rangers in like two decades, so I don't know if this Lord Drakkon character is in the series already or if they're new for this game. A brief Google search says that Lord Drakkon is an evil version of Tommy, the White Ranger. He appeared first in the Power Rangers comics back in 2016. So, there you have it. ...

    Fortnite Season 8 Promotes Piracy

The eighth season of content for Fortnite went live earlier today. Get your sails ready, your peg leg waxed up, and your hook sharpened because Fortnite Season 8 is all about the pirates life for me.

But wait, there's more! Who is a pirate's greatest nemesis? If you answered scurvy, you'd be wrong! It's ninjas! Unlike some ninjas, these probably don't have blue hair. I guess Epic is trying to pull back in that Sea of Thieves crowd on Twitch? There's also some stuff about a giant...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered Rated in Europe

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered was apparently just been given a rating by the Pan European Game Information board (PEGI). This specific rating is for the PlayStation 4. And yes, that is the actual title that is given.

So far, nothing about this has been announced by Activision yet. Hell, nothing about this year's Call of Duty release has been revealed at all yet.

I just can't help but feel incredibly indifferent about this if the Modern Warfare...

Game director Toshifumi Nabeshima provides fans some details about the skills and tactics that need to be used to ensure victory on the battlefield. The video offers up yet another glimpse of the "survival action shooter" gameplay found in Left Alive.

We previously saw a decent amount of gameplay only last week, so be sure to check that out as well after you finish today's video. Or rather, should I say today's videos? Yes, there is another video for you to check out today. Nintendo Announced Pokemon Sword and Shield for Switch

Worry not Pokemon Trainers, I didn't forget about your news today! I almost did, but that's besides the point.

Earlier today Nintendo announced Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, both for the Nintendo Switch. These games officially kick off generation eight for the long-running and still very popular franchise. These two games will be released this Fall and are (apparently) the first mainline titles to appear on a home console. Though I suppose you could technically spin it to...

Sony started to issue refunds to customers as a result of this. However, publisher 505 Games was quick to comment, saying that the game was merely "postponed" as the game was still in development.

Today, the console versions of Overkill's The Walking Dead has been canceled. Skybound Entertainment, the studio that permits The Walking...

  • Poll: Best Year Ever for Game Releases?
    by Shawn Zipay
2023 has been a banger year for new game releases.

2023 has already been an absolutely incredible year when it comes to new game releases. In 2023 alone, Metacritic lists 25 game releases that have amassed an average score of 90 or higher. The previous best year, again according to Metacritic, was back in 2011.

Let's just take a little glimpse at some of the games that came out this year that scored a 90 or higher. We had Baldur's Gate 3 in August, The Legend of Zelda:...
