Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Xbox Confirms PlayStation 5 Releases, Diablo 4 on Game Pass, and Future Hardware Plans

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

    Review: Judgment (PS4)

    The same, but different.

Sega, specifically the Yakuza team at Sega, are really damn good at what they do. The primarily Japanese developer has been on a roll with their stellar Yakuza-focused releases this generation that include Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2, and Yakuza 6. All of these titles have received high praise both from myself and from other media outlets these past few years.

It should then come as no surprise that the level of quality found in those...

My Friend Pedro is Out Now for PC and Switch

    This game is bananas.

Devolver Digital and developer DeadToast Entertainment are proud to announce that their over the top, martial arts filled, skateboarding, talking banana, action game called My Friend Pedro is now available. The game that blends all of those elements together with a healthy dose of shooting, platforming, and sick slow-mo moves is out now for the PC and the Nintendo Switch.

Seriously, the game looks like it's a ton of fun based on what I've seen so far. ...

The game features 13 playable fighters in addition to 31 "Support Knight" summon character assists. Well then, that's not exactly "1v1" then, is it, Million Arthur: Arcana Blood?

A new story for the game was overseen by author Kazuma Kamachi. Speaking of story, this one focuses on "Britain's...

Bungie Details Big Changes Coming to Eververse in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

There are some good changes in store, Guardian.

When Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches this Fall, Bungie is going to have made a ton of changes to some core mechanics in their space opera shooter. Among those changes will be a fairly drastic overhaul to Eververse and some of the currencies associated with that in-game store.

Eververse has been a small point of contention for Destiny fans ever since the first Destiny title. It is an in-game store that sells various items for...

  • Alpha Protocol Pulled from Steam

    Alpha Protocol Pulled from Steam

It may be a temporary thing.

The Steam store listing for Alpha Protocol was updated today. Instead of a normal store listing for the game, the page now says that Alpha Protocol has been pulled from sale on Steam at the request of the publisher. The publisher in this case being Sega.

It's not at all clear what is happening with the game to result in Sega halting sales. Typically when a game that has been released is suddenly pulled, it means one of a few things. Either...

Timed exclusives on PC continue to be a fat load of BS.

The game was announced back at E3 2018. All that we've really seen about the game came during that show by way of a short teaser trailer...

  • Twitch is Suing Users that Posted Porn, Violence, Racism, and More to Artifact Section

The company says these users harmed their business.

In March 2019, a bunch of idiots got together and flooded the Artifact section on Twitch with all sorts of random content. This seemed to include everything from multiple hour loops of "Ayaya" to things like showing full copyrighted Hollywood films like Avengers: Endgame, full episodes of various copyrighted television shows like Malcolm in the Middle, a whole lot of uncensored hardcore porn like raw gachi (NSFW if you decide to search for it), to uncensored footage of the Christchurch mosque terror attack, and an assortment of videos full of extreme racism and misogyny.

In other words, it was a real shitshow. ...

  • EA Attempts to Distance Themselves from 'Loot Boxes' by Calling them 'Surprise Mechanics'

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be a surprise mechanic.

EA and loot boxes, loot boxes and EA. In some people's minds, there is no better pairing save for "gamers" and "rising up." For the past several years now, the studio has been repeatedly under fire for how they included loot boxes in many of their titles. They have included loot box mechanics in games like Madden with their Madden Ultimate Team card packs, FIFA with the similar Ultimate...

Some of you out there may already be familiar with them. They are Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond from The King of Fighters. Two characters from a different fighting game? Yup! These two are...
