Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Xbox Confirms PlayStation 5 Releases, Diablo 4 on Game Pass, and Future Hardware Plans

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

The Acquisition Wars Continue as Typhoon Studios Joins Stadia

Another game development studio was acquired by a larger company.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: A small, independent studio has been picked up by a much larger company today. This small studio was started by just two men. Together, they have multiple years of experience in the field, having helped to deliver a series of high-profile AAA game releases during their time at other studios.

In looking to branch out, these two individuals built a new studio from the...

Destiny 3 is Not Coming Any Time Soon

Bungie seems to be in it for the long haul with Destiny 2.

With everything currently going on with new Destiny 2 content, it probably stands to reason that Bungie isn't exactly ready yet to talk about anything related to Destiny 3. That is, assuming, there is ever a Destiny 3. So far, it appears as though the independent studio is content with just constantly updating Destiny 2 with new content and seasons, at least for the foreseeable future.

    In an interview with PCGa...

Deliver Us the Moon Update Turns on RTX Features

Real-time raytracing added to the game in the latest update.

A new update for Deliver Us the Moon, was released that should make RTX video card owners rather happy. The new update incorporated new real-time ray tracing support for this sci-fi focused adventure. In addition to the lovely ray tracing, the game also includes global illumination lighting. All in all, this should make for a real nice looking game for those with the hardware to push it to the max.

    In addition...

PSA: Holiday Sales are Live on Steam and Epic Games Store

    You knew this was coming.

It's that time of year again. The snow is perhaps starting to fall. Santa is making the final checks on his sleigh. Rudolf is getting good and sloshed for his big night. And all around the world Christmas office parties are leading to situations that "nobody should ever speak of again."

It's also the time of the year where every digital storefront has a big holiday sale. Sales have kicked off today for both Steam and the Epic Games Store....

PUMA is Selling $110 Gaming Water Shoes

    This is stupid.

I think I'm starting to return to the point where I hate everything and I have a pair of "gaming footwear" to thank for that rapid decline. Nike makes gaming jerseys for esports teams? Sure, that's fine. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. Other sporting companies, like Adidas with Ninja, sponsor some professional video game players? I mean, that's still not completely terrible but it's starting down that path.

And then we have PUMA here...

The Game Awards 2019: All the Winning Games

Okay, so the Game Awards happened. The half video game-Oscars, half game-announcement-venue was exciting to the say the least. Some of our favourite games won, and some didn’t. And many of our future-favourite games were announced along with many other things. It was a whole affair, and a long one, lasting over three hours.

But don’t worry you don’t have to sit through it. We’ve gathered all the highlights — all the nominees, winning games...

  • Sony Announces a Back Button Attachment for the DualShock 4

Sony Announces a Back Button Attachment for the DualShock 4

    Why now?

Sony just announced that they are going to release a "Back Button Attachment" for the DualShock 4. This add-on device will add some bonus functionality to your controller when it releases on January 23. That is assuming you want to spend $29.99 (USD; $39.99 CAD) for some "elite"-like functionality.

The Back Button Attachment seems to be a middle ground between a normal DualShock 4 and a full Elite controller type of experience. It is a device...

Borderlands 3 on Stadia is an Old Build Running at Just 30FPS

    What a mess.

The Stadia launch just continues to deliver. Deliver what? Well, not a great experience for most users. Today's launch of Borderlands 3 on the platform is certainly no exception.

Today's release of Borderlands 3 is old. By that, I mean the build of the game on Stadia is from around October 24. It didn't take any sort of digging or examination of details from the game to find this out either. Gearbox voluntarily let their consumers know that this is an old...

Xbox Series X is Just 'Xbox'

It's either more confusing, or less, depending on how you look at it.

Last week when Microsoft unveiled the next-gen Xbox, we were initially told it was going to be called the Xbox Series X, or Xbox SeX for us degenerates out there. Today, in speaking with Business Insider, an Xbox representative clarified that the name of their new console isn't Xbox Series X.

Instead, the next-gen Xbox is just going to be called "Xbox."

  • Poll: What is 2024's Biggest Gaming Disappointment So Far?
    by Shawn Zipay
    It's AAAA vs WB.

March isn't even over yet and we've already seen a couple of stinkers come out from major gaming studios. While we tend to focus on the surprise hits or quality titles in these polls, this time it's a little bit different.

Between the Rocksteady developed live-service Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the "AAAA" quality Ubisoft developed Skull and Bones: Which is the bigger disappointment for you?
