They made bank, but don't tell the tax man.
Take-Two sent out a boastful press release earlier today on behalf of Rockstar Games. Perhaps you've heard of them? In it they offered high praise for the sales accomplishments of Rockstar Games.
Apparently Rockstar broke some sales records thanks to a couple of games called Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. Perhaps you've heard of those?
Over the course of the past decade, Rockstar says that Grand Theft...

Stadia Owners Angry as Google's Radio Silence Enters 40th Day
40 days and 0 games.
Today marks the 70th day that the Google Stadia was "released" to early adopters and man, what an absolute mess it's been. Even when compared to most other Google launch disasters, the Stadia launch has been exceptionally bad. A post on the r/Stadia by user Gizoogle outlines just how much Google has completely bungled the launch of this new platform.
The Reddit post in question has already surpassed 8,600 upvotes in the Stadia section and... -

The Next Battlefield 5 Chapter to be Revealed Tomorrow
We're still in the Pacific.
EA and DICE announced today that they will reveal the sixth chapter in their ever ongoing Tides of War content for Battlefield V. This new chapter is appropriately called Into the Jungle and it takes us, you guessed it, into some dense jungle environments. Well, there's at least one dense jungle environment.
There's no saying how many new maps this next chapter will actually bring, though certain wording in official statements seem to indicate... -

A new feature here, a new character there.
EVO Japan was large and in charge this past weekend. As is seemingly customary with these events, some new content was announced for existing games like Tekken 7 and even Soulcalibur VI.
For Tekken 7, fans learned about some of what is coming in the 3.2 Game Update. Thanks to a new developer diary, we also see how the new new characters, Leroy Smith and Fahkumram, are coming along.
In addition, we also learned a little... -

Season 2 DLC Roster Revealed for Samurai Shodown
This new season adds in four new fighters.
Throughout February, four new fighters will be added to Samurai Shodown courtesy of the second season of DLC content. Yes, you will need to pay for these extra characters as that's usually how these things go.
I wasn't told the price of this second season of DLC, but I'm assuming the new Season Pass will retail for $19.99 (USD) just as the first Season Pass retailed for. If you decide to purchase these new characters separately,... -

Torchlight Frontiers Now Torchlight III, No Longer F2P
The change away from the F2P model is only one of the many changes planned.
Perfect World Entertainment and developer Echtra Games announced today that they are no longer releasing Torchlight Frontiers. They will instead convert this planned F2P release of the game into a proper sequel, Torchlight III. The current plan for this new installment in the action-RPG genre is to get it out on Steam at some point this Summer.
With this move away from the free-to-play model, Torchlight... -

Britain Finds An Unusual Way To Celebrate Its Gaming Heritage
When it comes to the creation of hugely successful video games, the United Kingdom arguably punches above its weight. It's a small country when compared to the size and population of the United States of America, but the video game designers there have given us some of the greatest computer games ever conceived, from the Championship Manager series through to Grand Theft Auto. It’s a history worth celebrating, and the country has decided to celebrate it in the most delightfully British... -

Speedrunners Continue to Break Ocarina of Time - Now Able to Spawn in an Arwing from Star Fox 64
This is done without outside cheat devices.
Over the past several weeks, the speed running community has absolutely broken open The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The record for Ocarina of Time any% went from just shy of 17 minutes as of six months ago, to just 12 minutes and 3 seconds as of 4 days ago. To put it into perspective, it took the community over 4 years to get the old record to be under 17 minutes. It's taken them six months to get it to just 12 minutes. For a game ... -

A Rumor Suggests a Knights of the Old Republic Remake is in Development
It's a slow news day, so here's a rumor born from a single site.
A new rumor was fired up yesterday from cinelinx.com that says a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is currently in the works. There might be a bit of validity behind this rumor, we aren't exactly sure ourselves. The track record of cinelinx is unknown to us, but it's a slow news day so let's roll with it.
The site claims that two independent sources have told them that Knights of the Old R... -

Court Rules that Player's Free Speech Rights Weren't Violated After Being Banned From a Video Game
Imagine that, a gamer was dumb enough to argue about free speech rights.
A federal court dismisses a case where an (alleged) moron complained about his free speech rights being violated in a video game. A Pennsylvania man actually tried to claim that his civil rights were violated after he was muted by the developers in an online video game.
To interject briefly: Yes, there are indeed people that don't have a fucking clue what "freedom of speech" actually means....
