EA Attempts to Distance Themselves from 'Loot Boxes' by Calling them 'Surprise Mechanics'

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it must be a surprise mechanic.

EA and loot boxes, loot boxes and EA. In some people's minds, there is no better pairing save for "gamers" and "rising up." They have included loot box mechanics in games like Madden with their Madden Ultimate Team card packs, FIFA with the similar Ultimate Team mode, Battlefield 1, and perhaps most notably, Star Wars Battlefront 2.

In fact,...

Speedrunner Distortion2 Completes Nioh in Just Over an Hour and a Half

Speedruns for Nioh have been underway roughly a day or two after the game was released. The game has proven especially popular with runners that favor games like the Dark Souls franchise and Bloodborne. Speedrunner Distortion2 is no stranger to either of those games, often trading world records with his fellow runners over at Speedsouls. Distortion2 is the "current" world record holder (as of February 21, 2017) in Nioh with a time for doing all main missions of 1:36:51. Due to how new the game is, it is very likely that this record will come and go many times over by a variety of runners in the days, weeks, and ...

Persona 5 - Your Invitation to the Velvet Room is Here

I don't pretend to know the first thing about the Persona series. I'm not going to pretend to know anything about this new Persona 5 trailer and The Velvet Room. I'm just going to let the press release and trailer speak for themselves.
Sometimes when the protagonist of Persona 5 goes to sleep, he doesn't dream like a normal Japanese high-schooler. Oh no. He gets transported to a place that exists between dream and reality, mind and matter. A place where fate has made it look like a prison. A place where sacrifice creates power, and where a familiar face will assist the leader of the Phantom Thieves in reaching his full potential. Get ready

    Nintendo Switch

Every time a new piece of kit is in the pipeline, then the rumours and hype, specs and 'leaked' photos hit our screens as the excitement builds.

This has been the case repeatedly and something that we have come to accept and even enjoy. Some might ask "why all of the excitement?" That question is pretty easy to answer when you take time to consider how much we rely on our Smartphones, laptops, consoles, tablets and all the other electronic innovations we can enjoy.

Browsing the internet, playing on games like mobile bingo sites, keeping up with family and friends on social media sites plus a whole host of other useful, entertaining and enjoyable tasks are at our fingertips and only one touch away. March sees the la...
