Tetris Effect Coming to PC Next Week as Epic Store Exclusive

No word on if it's a timed exclusive.

The game that many called 2018's game of the year is coming very soon to the PC. That's right, Tetris Effect brings its psychedelic strategy-puzzle gameplay to a PC somewhat near you on July 23. Ah, but there is a catch, because of course there is.

In case you missed it, Tetris Effect is exclusive to the Epic Games Store. There is no saying whether or not this is a timed exclusive release, or if this third-party PC release will remain an exclusive to that launcher. This release will mark the first time that the game was available...

Horror Game Devotion May Not be Re-released

Developer says this may change, but not any time soon.

This past February, Taiwan-based Red Candle Games pulled their then newly released horror title, Devotion, from the Steam store. This came after it was discovered that the game had shipped with an Easter egg that references how China's president, Xi Jinping, looks like Winnie the Pooh. What followed was a wave of review bombing on Steam from upset Chinese citizens that continued to toe the line that the government has repeatedly pushed upon them.

The original plan from Red Candle Games was to remove the game from...

Introducing Steam Labs - A Place to Test New Steam Features

Launching today with three experiments.

Valve has just launched a new area on Steam where users can test out new, experimental features for Steam. They're calling this area the Steam Labs and it is here where users will be able to test out potential new Steam features. These tests may one day become commonplace on Steam, but for now they are mere experiments ripe for testing and potential changes based on user feedback.

If you ever used Gmail, you may already know what to expect from these Labs experiments. That is to say, there is no guarantee that they will be fully...

Compared to its older brother, the Switch Lite will be a portable only device. You will not be able to dock the Switch Lite to a TV as you can with the regular Switch. In addition, the Switch Lite does not have...

Facebook Reportedly Bringing Splinter Cell Back... as a VR Game

Who wished on a monkey's paw?!

There is a story circulating today saying that Facebook may have already signed deals with Ubisoft to bring back Splinter Cell and a new Assassin's Creed title. That's not the weird part. The weird part here is that the deal is to create VR games in these two popular franchises. And since it's Facebook that pushed the deal, that would mean that the games would be Oculus "exclusive" and sold through their Oculus Store.

This is, at least right now, merely a rumor. It came to light today via The Information (full article is locked...

Unreleased Half-Life 2 Episode Map Leaked

The folks over at ValveTime got their hands on some of the uncompiled source files for an unreleased Half-Life 2 episode. Included in the leak are a series of files related to the Half-Life 2: Episode series of games. These include maps for Episode One, several early Episode Two maps, and a map from a canceled Episode that was in development from Junction Point Studios.

The map dates back to late 2005 and shows off a snow-themed version of Ravenholm. It includes "small puzzles, scripted sequences, and fights." It's important to note that this was not tied into Episode Four: Return to Ravenholm, which was in development by Arkane Studios. ...

  • PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Surpasses $11 Million in Sales in Three Days

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Surpasses $11 Million in Sales in Three Days

The Bluehole developed PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has already surpassed $11 million sales in its first three days of being on Steam Early Access. The developer, based in South Korea, announced this detail today along with the fact that it has topped 67,000 concurrent players.

The game is currently available on Steam for just $30 and aims to surpass rivals in the genre such as H1Z1. It probably stands to reason since the team includes the original creator of the competitive open-world "battle royale" genre. Brendan Greene made the original PlayerUnknown's Battle Royale mod for Arma 3 and worked on...

Final Fantasy XV Update to Fix Chapter 13 is Out Now

Square Enix delivered on their promise to release a "fixed" version of Chapter 13 in Final Fantasy XV. Many fans who played it thought that Chapter 13 was, well, kind of terrible and it seems as though Square Enix agreed.

This week's update for the game changes up Chapter 13, hopefully for the better. This update also goes hand-in-hand with the game's first character DLC, Episode Gladiolus.
    The episode features:

  • I Guess Destiny 2 was Just Officially Announced

I Guess Destiny 2 was Just Officially Announced

Last week we saw some leaked posters for Destiny 2, a game that technically wasn't even announced yet, but we all knew was coming. Now, just moments ago, the official Destiny Twitter account tweeted out a picture of Destiny 2.

I am assuming now means that the game is officially announced? It's kind of a weird situation since there is literally nothing else here besides a simple image. This "announcement" comes not with a bang but a whimper.

Maybe we'll get a trailer soon? Maybe we'll get something more than just a logo? Maybe, just maybe, we'll get to see some actual gameplay as well. Though...

  • Rumor: Leaked Art Points to WWII Setting for Call of Duty 2017

Rumor: Leaked Art Points to WWII Setting for Call of Duty 2017

If this leaked artwork is to be believed, Call of Duty will make a return to WWII in its 2017 release. Artwork depicting Call of Duty: WWII surfaced today from Reddit and "TheFamilyVideoGamers" on YouTube.

The original leak seems to come from the person that leaked the first details about Infinite Warfare's multiplayer ahead of its reveal, so there might be something to this. Despite how authentic these images may be, it is still advised to take them with a grain of salt. However, the last official word we heard on Call of Duty 2017 came from Activision. The company stated back in February that the franchise would be going...

GameStop Closing Over 150 Stores as Stocks Plummet

Shortly after the news came that hardware sales at GameStop fell over 29% (software down over 19%) in the fourth quarter, came the news that shares in the company were down 12%. GameStop announced that global sales has gone down 13.6% to 'just' $3.05 billion. As a result of this poor performance, GameStop also announced today that it will close between 2% to 3% of its stores around the world. This means the closure of at least 150 of its physical retail locations. They blame the decline in sales on strong holiday sales from competing retailers. On the plus side for the company, they said that they still plan to open 64 new Tec...
