New 'Experimental' Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft CEO

Open World? GAAS? Mobile? VR?

The emotional rollercoaster that fans of the Splinter Cell series has been on for the past few years has been never ending, has had no chill, and frankly, it's gotten to be a wee bit tiresome. In May of this year, a new Splinter Cell was apparently "confirmed" and then it was later revealed to just be a joke.

Last month, we again heard a rumor that a new Splinter Cell was actually in the works. However, that story from July says that Facebook is financing the game and that it will be a VR only title and exclusive to the Oculus...

Mojang Cancels 'Super Duper Graphics Pack' for Minecraft

Performance issues and engine difficulties were too much to overcome.

Sadly, Mojang announced today that they are cancelling the promised Super Duper Graphics Pack that was originally revealed at E3 2017. This visual overhaul was teased for the game during the annual industry trade show and fans were eager to check it out for themselves.

This was going to be an optional piece of DLC that brought a suite of visual improvements to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game without needing to mod it. Sure, a lot of the visual improvements have been done time and time again...

The 2020 Call of Duty will either be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game will be set in the Cold War era and will also include the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

This all comes courtesy of YouTuber TheLongSensation via his Twitter account. While it may be easy to just write this off as some random person...

No Man's Sky Beyond Launch Trailer

Update arrives August 14.

A launch trailer for the massive Beyond update for No Man's Sky was released today by Hello Games. This update is said to be the "culmination of 12 months of work" on what was originally going to be three separate, large updates. Those three updates have been rolled into this massive update.

We already touched upon some of the new features and content coming to the game in our last post. The biggest addition, at least for PC and PlayStation VR owners, is the addition of full VR support for No Man's Sky. There are also some additional...

Solos Finally Coming to Apex Legends

But only for a limited time.

Apex Legends will finally allow introverts to play without worry starting on August 13. A Solos Mode will be introduced into the F2P battle royale game. So far, the game has only really allowed for three-man squads.

The addition of Solos Mode is the good news. The bad news is that this mode will only be added to the game for a limited time. This Solos Mode will run from August 13 through August 27 in Apex Legends. Best get your fill of it while you can, because who knows when or if it will come back afterwards. ...

  • Ion Fury Leaves Early Access

    Ion Fury Leaves Early Access

The 90s are kind of back.

A modern release of an "old-school FPS" arrives today with the release of Ion Fury. This new game from Voidpoint, 3D Realms, and 1C Entertainment plays out a lot like the first-person shooter games of yesteryear. You have big, fairly open levels that reward exploration. These levels are packed with a ton of enemies, maze like corridors, and a lot of gib producing weapons of destruction.

Today marks the release of the game on the PC as it leaves Early Access. You can pick up Ion Fury from either Steam, GOG, or the 3D Realms store for...

  • Lead Producer on Anthem, Ben Irving, Leaves BioWare

Lead Producer on Anthem, Ben Irving, Leaves BioWare

This probably isn't a good sign.

Anthem has had its fair share of disappointment since even before the game was launched back in the far off time of February 2019. Today, yet another potential black mark can be added to the books. Lead producer for Anthem, Ben Irving, announced that he is leaving BioWare for another studio.

This may not be a sign of anything, but it rarely ends up being a good sign when the lead producer on a project decides to quit and go elsewhere. BioWare Edmonton has already moved on to Dragon Age development while BioWare Austin was tasked with...

Sega Releases Nostalgic 'Genesis Does' Trailer for Genesis Mini

    Genesis does what Nintendon't.

Sega is gearing up for the release of their Genesis Mini on September 19, 2019. That's a little over a month away now. When it releases, waves of nostalgia will hit you like... like waves, and you'll be able to play 42 games from your childhood, or your parents' childhoods.

Today, the company released a new "Genesis Does" commercial. Instead of going toe-to-toe with Nintendo, they are instead focusing on their lineup of games. It's a little nod to a time period where companies would make fun of their competition. It was a simpler...

No Pre-loads for Borderlands 3 on Epic Games Store

    Just another launcher.

Epic's Tim Sweeney says that there will be no pre-loads for Borderlands 3 on the PC through the Epic Games Store. If you have purchased the game, you will need to wait until the game is released before you can even download it. Those on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will not have this problem.

Those of you who have somewhat decent Internet connections probably won't have to worry about waiting for too long, provided the download servers hold up. Those of you who typically need a couple of days to a week to download a modern game, I wish you all...
