Remake of XIII Announced

A remake of the old(er) FPS known simply as XIII was announced today. The game features cel-shaded visuals and David Duchovny as the voice of the titular main character. The original originally came out back in 2003 and somehow attained "cult classic" status.

The remake will be out on November 13, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. The game itself is based on the first five volumes of the comic book series of the same name. The XIII remake is being handled by PlayMagic and will be published by Microids. ...

Sega Announces Another Ten Titles Coming with the Sega Genesis Mini

We dropped the ball on the original launch lineup, I fully admit that. However, I aim to correct that oversight by telling you about the SEGA Genesis Mini and the games that are coming with it. Prior to today only ten games were known. Today, another ten games join those original ten and we're going to tell you what all of those are. ...

Mortal Kombat 11 Official Launch Trailer

Mortal Kombat 11 will be released starting April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. We've already had a ton of coverage for this game over the prior few months, so be sure to check that out.

Today, the launch trailer for the game was released by WBIE and developer NetherRealm Studios. The trailer includes a remix made by DJ Dimitri Vegas and 2WEI for the song "Techno Syndrome."

Don't forget that just yesterday we saw the Shao Kahn reveal trailer that included a look at his special moves and at least one of his fatalities. There...

Watch the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Announcement Trailer

At the end of February, the world was alerted to the fact that Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall, Apex Legends) and EA would reveal a trailer for their new Star Wars title on this very day. It turns out, this scheduled event happened as planned.

Imagine that.

Earlier today the studios revealed the first details and trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at the Star Wars Celebration that has been going on this weekend in Chicago. This is an original game set in the Star Wars universe and looks to take place after Order 66 was issued. This places the game set shortly...

New 425.31 Nvidia Drivers Bring Ray Tracing to Older GTX Cards

Remember about a month back when we told you that ray tracing was coming to those with non-RTX Nvidia cards? That day has finally arrived. With today's release of the 425.31 drivers, those on 1060 and higher cards can now give real-time ray tracing a spin.

Since all of these older cards lack the special hardware that helps to speed up DirectX Raytracing (DXR) in games, don't expect to have fantastic framerates. However, if you understand what you're getting yourself into, go nuts with it. Just make sure you have one of the following cards, have updated to the 425.31 Nvidia drivers,...

Shoppe Keep 2 Leaving Early Access this Month

Excalibur Games announced today that Shoppe Keep 2 will leave Early Access status come April 25. By my non-existent watch that is just one week away from today. When that day comes the game will reach the coveted version 1.0 that many dream of hitting.

Shoppe Keep 2 places you in the shoes of a town merchant, one that you would typically find in your typical fantasy RPG. You sell armor, food, clothes, magical potions, and the like. You set the prices and ensure you have a good supply. You can customize the layout of your shop and grow it out beyond a single room store. It's...

  • Mortal Kombat 11 Shao Kahn Reveal Trailer

Mortal Kombat 11 Shao Kahn Reveal Trailer

Those that pre-order Mortal Kombat 11 will get immediate access to Shao Kahn. It seems like it's only natural that we see a proper reveal trailer for him. NetherRealm and WBIE aren't quite done just yet. They promise another gameplay reveal is coming on April 22 at 3PM (CDT) via Twitch, YouTube, Mixer, and other social media sites.

But first, it's Shao Kahn's time to shine. He's big, he's a bad guy, that's kind of his thing. Mortal Kombat 11 will be available starting April 23 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. So far, we've yet to see any Switch gameplay...

  • Assassin's Creed Unity is Free Following Recent Fire at the Notre-Dame de Paris

Ubisoft is giving away Assassin's Creed Unity for free via Uplay. This free game will be available only for a limited time, so be sure to grab it while you can. If you pick up the game prior to April 25 at 3AM (ET), then you will be able to keep Assassin's Creed Unity forever without having to pay a dime.

This move by Ubisoft is being done in response to the recent fire at the Notre-Dame de Paris. As Unity takes place in Paris, it is actually possible to go "visit" Notre Dame within the game. As I understand it, the in-game recreation of the building is actually...

How to Stay Safe When Playing Online Games

No matter who you are or how old you may be, you run the very real risk of exposing yourself online. No, I do not mean it that way, so get your minds out of the gutters.

No, we are instead referring to the fact that whenever you are connected to the Internet, be it browsing a website or playing your favorite online game like Fortnite or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you are exposed to a huge number of nefarious actors that could potentially spy on you. People you do not know or even want to know could find out information about your browsing habits. They can see the sites...

    First PlayStation 5 Details Emerge

A new report from Wired provides us some of the first confirmed details for the next-generation PlayStation console. Though it's not confirmed to be called "PlayStation 5" we'll do so for the time being until we know otherwise.

The online magazine sat down with Sony's Mark "Knack's Baby Daddy" Cerny to talk about the upcoming Sony hardware. Though a lot of specifics were omitted, we did learn a bunch of tasty new details.

We know that the system will include backwards compatibility with PlayStation 4 games. The system will not ship in 2019....

Vulkan Support Added to No Man's Sky, Promises Better Performance

If there is one thing that is critical to a game having VR support, it's making sure that the base game can run well on capable hardware. A VR experience with poor performance and framerates isn't a VR experience that you want to have. Fallout 4 VR, I'm looking at you.

It's perhaps a good thing then that Hello Games just launched a new experimental branch update for No Man's Sky that adds Vulkan support to the game. The performance gains should be felt by most players, especially those on AMD video cards. More performance in the game is great because No Man's Sky is set to...

  • Xbox One SAD Edition Announced

    Xbox One SAD Edition Announced

Microsoft officially announced a new Xbox One SKU today. It's called the 1TB Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, or the Xbox One SAD Edition if you're feeling cheeky. As you may have already gathered from the name, there is no optical drive included on this Xbox One.

It's just like a normal Xbox One S except you can't play any disc-based games. You can only download games or stream them. So just like the regular Xbox One S, you can still pre-order games, pre-load games, save games locally and to the cloud, and you still have access to your entire digital game library. It's literally...
