Discord Distances Itself from Gaming

Discord is now your place to talk.

Discord was built upon the idea of bringing gamers of all types together. It's certainly a big factor that prompted my friends and I to make the move to Discord from TeamSpeak and Ventrilo however long ago it's been now. We were a group of friends that played a lot of games together. We didn't like the quality of the service we were paying monthly for from the alternatives and decided to give Discord a try. We never looked back.

That...

Cyberpunk 2077 New Trailer Revealed - 'The Gig'

A new trailer showcasing new footage, characters, and story.

Today, CD Projekt Red lifted the lid on a whole lot of new media and impressions for Cyberpunk 2077. A number of outlets have shared their first-hand experiences with a vertical slice of the game based on being able to play it for the past week or two now. Lucky SOBs, I'll tell you what. This all came together today in the release of those impressions to the web alongside a brand new official trailer from CD Projekt Red themselves....

Mixer is Shutting Down

Microsoft is pulling the plug on their streaming platform.

On July 22, Microsoft will officially close down their streaming service, Mixer, for good. The plan is to instead move all of its existing partners over to Facebook Gaming. This rather sudden announcement means that Mixer partners and streamers will be moving to Facebook Gaming beginning today.

According to The Verge, Microsoft "has struggled to reach the scale needed to Mixer to compete with Twitch, YouTube,...

Review: Disintegration

A terribly underwhelming take on the sci-fi FPS genre.

Disintegration, the debut title from V1 Interactive, places players in the shoes of Romer Shoal. Shoal was a former celebrity robot turned outlaw that leads a group of other current outlaws to take down the evil Rayonne. This is done through a lot of vehicle focused combat and some great character designs, but a terrible story with some surprisingly shallow gameplay. Though the game aims to become a real genre defining moment for...

Review: Maneater

A fun, albeit shallow, gameplay experience.

Maneater is one of those titles that is just the right amount of dumb fun. It pushes the dumb just far enough that you are not overly concerned with its obvious shortcomings. I suppose that any game that places you in the fins of a growing, angry as hell bull shark that can mutate and grow. These mutations provide your shark with gain special abilities is not a game that would ever take itself too seriously.

Maneater is a game...

Leaked Battlefield V Key Art Points Towards WWII Setting

The big reveal for Battlefield V is *checks wrist where watches normally sit* about IV hours away from airing on Twitch. However, the leaks just keep on leaking. The latest is the reveal of the game's key art for the game. Once more it features a man in a dramatic as hell pose. He's giving someone some serious side-eye as he initiates a pirouette. You can't really tell which direction he's spinning though because the strap flying out from one weapon seems to indicate he's turning to ...

#NewsBits - Look at all the Games Released Today. Wow.

It's late on a Tuesday and that probably means I slept through most of the day like a moron. Sleeping through Tuesdays is rather bad because that's when most of the game releases happen, unless you're Nintendo. Nintendo prefers Friday. Oddly enough, a number of publishers are starting to shift to Fridays as well, but most still do not. Which brings us back to my first point: My sleep schedule sucks.

Anyway, let's just get on to that news in the latest installment of CS-Na...

  • Epic Games to Provide $100 Million for Fortnite Esports Prize Pool Winnings in 2018

Epic Games really wants Fortnite to be the go-to game for esports in 2018. I mean they really want it to be a big thing, so much so that they're pumping $100 million worth of prize winnings into Fortnite tournaments throughout the 2018-2019 competitive season.

Specifics about how exactly this $100 million will be distributed have not been disclosed by Epic. However, the company has hinted that they're doing some unconventional things with that $100 million.

  • Battlefield V Teaser Points Towards WWII Setting

Battlefield V Teaser Points Towards WWII Setting

Earlier today, the official Battlefield Twitter account provided just a tiny little peak at Battlefield V. In the teaser, you see a few things. First and foremost, you see a man saying "shh" but you also see a bit of the game's HUD. The HUD seems like standard stuff for a Battlefield game. But what's that? Are those the flags for the British and German forces? Why yes, I do believe that is the case. Meaning that it's not going to be a Vietnam setting as some people have speculated over the pr...

  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Launches to Early Access Today on PC and Mac

Though the official release date isn't set until June 5 for the PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, that hasn't stopped The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset from being released into Early Access today. That's right, starting right now, you can begin your adventures in Summerset Isle, a location not really seen since 1994's The Elder Scrolls Arena. This update brings new areas to explore, new quests, the new Psijic Order Skill Line, and Jewelry Crafting. These are obviously also alongs...

  • Resident Evil 7 Coming to Switch via Experimental Cloud Streaming

Resident Evil 7 Coming to Switch via Experimental Cloud Streaming

So the good news here is that Resident Evil 7 is coming to the Nintendo Switch! The bad news is that it's only coming out in Japan. The potentially worse newsis that it's only being made available as a cloud based streaming game. I suppose that's why they're actually calling it Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version there.

Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version seems to be the first streaming only game that has been announced for the Switch. The "download" for the game is just 45MB but you...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Not Coming to Nintendo Switch

It seemed like 2018 would be the year that Call of Duty came to the Nintendo Switch but uh, I guess not. According to an interview Twinfinite conducted with Treyarch's Senior Producer Yale Miller and Gameplay Designer Matt Scronce, there are just no plans to bring Black Ops 4 to the Switch.
