Sony just laid off about 900 people across multiple PlayStation studios around the world. These 900 or so laid off employees account for roughly 8% of the total workforce for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Embracer Lays Off 97 Employees from Eidos; Cancels New Deus Ex

Embracer's rampage continues.

Eidos-Montreal, a development studio currently under the Embracer umbrella, made the sad announcement that employees at the studio were being laid off. Eidos took to social media to confirm that 97 people have been let go "from development teams, administration, and support services".

    Old Need for Speed Titles Delisted Today

    Online services shutting down August 31.

    EA is pulling the plug and delisting a number of older Need for Speed titles today. This means that the games will no longer be available for sale, their in-game stores closed, and their online services will be shuttered.     Fixing a broken game takes time and money.

    CD Projekt Red revealed that its Q1 2021 net profits fell well below expectations. The studio says that net profits fell 65% to just $32.5M (PLN; $8.84M USD) due to costs associated with fixing Cyberpunk 2077. This was shared as part of CD Projekt Red's Q1 2021 earning's presentation.
