Tetris Effect Coming to PC Next Week as Epic Store Exclusive

No word on if it's a timed exclusive.

The game that many called 2018's game of the year is coming very soon to the PC. That's right, Tetris Effect brings its psychedelic strategy-puzzle gameplay to a PC somewhat near you on July 23. Ah, but there is a catch, because of course there is.

In case you missed it, Tetris Effect is exclusive to the Epic Games Store. There is no saying whether or not this is a timed exclusive release, or if this third-party PC release will remain an exclusive to that launcher. This release will mark the first time that the game was available...

Horror Game Devotion May Not be Re-released

Developer says this may change, but not any time soon.

This past February, Taiwan-based Red Candle Games pulled their then newly released horror title, Devotion, from the Steam store. This came after it was discovered that the game had shipped with an Easter egg that references how China's president, Xi Jinping, looks like Winnie the Pooh. What followed was a wave of review bombing on Steam from upset Chinese citizens that continued to toe the line that the government has repeatedly pushed upon them.

The original plan from Red Candle Games was to remove the game from...

Introducing Steam Labs - A Place to Test New Steam Features

Launching today with three experiments.

Valve has just launched a new area on Steam where users can test out new, experimental features for Steam. They're calling this area the Steam Labs and it is here where users will be able to test out potential new Steam features. These tests may one day become commonplace on Steam, but for now they are mere experiments ripe for testing and potential changes based on user feedback.

If you ever used Gmail, you may already know what to expect from these Labs experiments. That is to say, there is no guarantee that they will be fully...

Nintendo Lite Announced - $200 Handheld Device Coming in September

Cheaper, smaller, colorful.

Nintendo announced the Nintendo Switch Lite today. Priced at $199 (USD), this new iteration of the Switch hardware will be released on September 20, 2019. It will come in three different colors (Grey, Yellow, and Turquoise) at launch. A carrying case and a screen protector is also going to be available at launch for the Switch Lite.

Compared to its older brother, the Switch Lite will be a portable only device. You will not be able to dock the Switch Lite to a TV as you can with the regular Switch. In addition, the Switch Lite does not have...

Facebook Reportedly Bringing Splinter Cell Back... as a VR Game

Who wished on a monkey's paw?!

There is a story circulating today saying that Facebook may have already signed deals with Ubisoft to bring back Splinter Cell and a new Assassin's Creed title. That's not the weird part. The weird part here is that the deal is to create VR games in these two popular franchises. And since it's Facebook that pushed the deal, that would mean that the games would be Oculus "exclusive" and sold through their Oculus Store.

This is, at least right now, merely a rumor. It came to light today via The Information (full article is locked...

  • Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator is a Free Teaser for Five Nights at Freddy's 6

Scott Cawthon just stealth released a new game on Steam. The developer, known primarily for the Five Nights at Freddy's series, just released Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator for free through Steam.
Presenting a fun Five Nights at Freddy's adventure with a lighter touch for the holidays, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator puts you in charge of developing your own restaurant! Design pizzas, feed kids, and get high scores!

By all accounts, this game serves as a teaser (demo? actually is...?) for the not-actually-announced-yet Five Nights at Freddy's 6. If you have even the smallest interest in the...

  • Secret of Mana Remake Getting Limited Edition Physical Release for PlayStation 4

A limited number of physical copies of Secret of Mana Remake will be released for the PlayStation 4 on February 15, 2018. Naturally, these physical copies will be exclusive to GameStop retailers in the United States, EB Games in Canada, and at some unnamed retailers in Latin America.

Yes, the game will still be available digitally. I wonder if we'll ever see unopened versions of the PlayStation 4 release selling in excess of $1,700 (USD) like we've seen with the SNES release.

  • Australian Open Tennis Coming to PS4 and XB1 in January 2018

Australian Open Tennis Coming to PS4 and XB1 in January 2018

When's the last time there was a tennis game released for both the Xbox and PlayStation? I'm fairly certain that this is the first tennis game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Regardless, Australian Open Tennis was announced today for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and it will be released January 2018.

The game is being developed by Melbourne's Big Ant Studios, the studio behind the classic game, Don Bradman Cricket. It will feature Rafael Nadal and Angelique Kerber on the cover of the game. It's not exactly clear if there are other known players included in the roster. The game will feature grass courts, hard, and clay. It's also still not clear if there will be other Grand Slam events featured in the game. However, there is a ...

First Presenters and Live Music Announced for The Game Awards 2017

Star Wars Battlefront II Increases Rate at which Credits are Earned

In a new Star Wars Battlefront II blog, EA and DICE detail changes that have just recently been made to the rate at which players can earn Credits in the game. You know, Credits, the only form of currency that can be used to buy loot boxes in that game (at present). The short of it is that rates are being increased across the board, including daily login bonuses, and more.
The end-of-round payout has been increased. This is an area we agree needed to be buffed a bit, especially when it comes to rewarding players for doing well in-game. We're upping the number of Credits you get for a match across the board, and specifically bumping the top players on each

PlayerUnknown Confirms PUBG to Run at 30FPS on All Xbox One Devices

It was previously mentioned that the Xbox One X version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds would run at 60fps. PlayerUnknown himself quickly took to Twitter to clarify that this is not the case. All Xbox One platforms will run at 30fps, be it the Xbox One, Xbox One S, or the Xbox One X.

I would assume this follows the Destin...
