Review: Journey for Elysium (PC VR)

A short trip to the afterlife.

For the past several months now, we have offered up glimpses of the story-driven VR adventure title Journey for Elysium. We saw a game that had a unique visual style, the promise of a story that would take us all to an afterlife, a world filled with architecture inspired by Greek mythology, and mind-bending puzzles to solve. The unique visual style was certainly eye catching, but I often wondered if the rest of the game would be able to hold up to this aesthetically pleasing presentation.

With the release of Journey...

Desert Bus for Hope 2019 Charity Event Underway

Better late than never.

We're just a few days late in sharing this news with you, but when it comes to charity: Better late than never, right?

The latest annual charity drive (get it?) that is Desert Bus for Hope is well underway. A group of people have already spent three days driving across the desert, in real time, in an effort to raise money for charity. In three days and 6 hours, the crew has already raised over $388,400 for the Child's Play charity. The team is still going strong after all this time.

For those that don't know,...

Google Stadia Launch Games are Lacking

Stadia comes out of the gate already limping.

With the soft launch of Google Stadia rapidly approaching, it seems like we're beyond due for a look at the platform's launch lineup. Hell, we're probably beyond due for a look at the Stadia UI and full featureset, but that is another matter entirely.

Today, Google revealed a list of 12 games that will serve as the launch titles for when Stadia has a soft launch on November 19. For $130, you were able to get in on the ground floor of the launch of Stadia with the Founder's Edition. These kits have...

EA Working on Cross-Save and Progression Sharing Between Steam and Origin

Seems EA is serious about this return to Steam.

With the recent announcement that EA was making a return to Steam, a number of questions remained unanswered. A couple of those questions focused on whether or not there would be support for things like cross-save or even cross-progression between EA's own Origin platform and Steam.

Fortunately, we have a few promising answers today. Most developers don't like to split their communities and EA is no exception. It seems they are working to get Origin to work similar to how Ubisoft's Uplay works with...

Diablo 4 is Always Online and Includes Microtransactions

This is the Diablo you pictured, right?

Yesterday, Blizzard took time away from appeasing China to kick off their two day BlizzCon event for 2019. One of yesterday's big reveals was the announcement that Diablo 4 is coming. What they didn't share in their reveal announcement to the public is the fact that Diablo 4 will require an online connection.

Not only that, but Diablo 4 will include microtransactions. Of course, all of this has a chance to change over the course of development, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Speaking of development,...

The Avengers Meets Fortnite for a Limited Time Mashup

For a limited time, Fortnite Battle Royale players will be able to get their hands on, or rather in, the Infinity Gauntlet from Avengers: Infinity War. Players will become Thanos in a special game mode that finds 100 players hunting for and fighting over control of the Infinity Gauntlet. The first person to equip the Gauntlet will become Thanos and will "wield the Gauntlet's power." Whatever you think about the game itself, you can't help but admit that Epic Games is kind of crushing it when it comes to promoting the game. In related news, PUBG suddenly doesn't fee...

Valve Puts Out Last Call for Portal 2 Nendoroids

Whenever I get a press release sent to my inbox from Valve, there's always a bit of shock and excitement that accompanies the notification. Is it a new game? Is is the Panorama update for CSGO? No, sadly, this email today was none of that. It was instead a notification that the limited-time offer for Portal 2 Nendoroids is coming to a close in a few days.

This includes the P-Body Nendoroid and the Atlas Nendoroid. You can get each of them for 5,800 Japanese Yen or about $53 (USD). Both P-Body and Atlus come with essentially the same things, so ...

Experience 4D Gameplay with the Release of Starship Corporation

Today's release of Starship Corporation from Iceberg Interactive and Coronado Games sees the release of one of the few "4D" games. Sadly, you won't be bending spacetime to your every whim. However, you will instead experience a game that lets you Develop, Design, Deal, and Deliver (get it?) their own intergalactic starships.
Starship Corporation is a complex and in-depth starship-builder simulation game, in which players must design, assemble and test spaceships, in a bid to build a supreme Galactic mega-corporation. Gain your reputation by engineering and

PSA: Get Destiny 2 PC for $12 via Humble

Humble is offering up Destiny 2 for just $12 if you subscribe to their Humble Monthly deal. While they call it a subscription, you are free to cancel at any time. Meaning that you can put down $12 right now and get Destiny 2 right away. If nothing else, that $12 will probably also get you some additional games. I'm not 100% sure on how the whole monthly subscription thing works, but I think they add some additional games during the month? Whatever, it's Destiny 2 for $12. It's an Activision published title available for just $12 being sold through Humble less...

Future Minecraft Updates Not Coming to Older Consoles

Mojang, the developers of Minecraft, said that the upcoming Aquatic update (or "Update Aquatic" as they call it) will be the last major update released for the last generation of consoles. That means the players left on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, and the Wii U will no longer receive any more content updates. The plan for the Aquatic update is to have it out first for the Java Edition, Xbox One, Switch, mobile, and Windows 10 versions. The PlayStation 4 and the aforementioned prior generation of consoles will get it a bit later. It's not ve...
