New 'Experimental' Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft CEO

Open World? GAAS? Mobile? VR?

The emotional rollercoaster that fans of the Splinter Cell series has been on for the past few years has been never ending, has had no chill, and frankly, it's gotten to be a wee bit tiresome. In May of this year, a new Splinter Cell was apparently "confirmed" and then it was later revealed to just be a joke.

Last month, we again heard a rumor that a new Splinter Cell was actually in the works. However, that story from July says that Facebook is financing the game and that it will be a VR only title and exclusive to the Oculus...

Mojang Cancels 'Super Duper Graphics Pack' for Minecraft

Performance issues and engine difficulties were too much to overcome.

Sadly, Mojang announced today that they are cancelling the promised Super Duper Graphics Pack that was originally revealed at E3 2017. This visual overhaul was teased for the game during the annual industry trade show and fans were eager to check it out for themselves.

This was going to be an optional piece of DLC that brought a suite of visual improvements to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game without needing to mod it. Sure, a lot of the visual improvements have been done time and time again...

Call of Duty 2020 Rumored to Be Black Ops Reboot

Next stop: Reboot City.

This year, Call of Duty fans are getting a reboot of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. Next year, fans may get a reboot of the Black Ops series. This is if the latest rumors are to be believed.

The 2020 Call of Duty will either be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game will be set in the Cold War era and will also include the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

This all comes courtesy of YouTuber TheLongSensation via his Twitter account. While it may be easy to just write this off as some random person...

No Man's Sky Beyond Launch Trailer

Update arrives August 14.

A launch trailer for the massive Beyond update for No Man's Sky was released today by Hello Games. This update is said to be the "culmination of 12 months of work" on what was originally going to be three separate, large updates. Those three updates have been rolled into this massive update.

We already touched upon some of the new features and content coming to the game in our last post. The biggest addition, at least for PC and PlayStation VR owners, is the addition of full VR support for No Man's Sky. There are also some additional...

Solos Finally Coming to Apex Legends

But only for a limited time.

Apex Legends will finally allow introverts to play without worry starting on August 13. A Solos Mode will be introduced into the F2P battle royale game. So far, the game has only really allowed for three-man squads.

The addition of Solos Mode is the good news. The bad news is that this mode will only be added to the game for a limited time. This Solos Mode will run from August 13 through August 27 in Apex Legends. Best get your fill of it while you can, because who knows when or if it will come back afterwards. ...

  • Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is Out Now

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is Out Now

More FF for you MMORPG fans.

Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is out today for all of your MMORPG wants and desires. Square Enix says that thanks to this new expansion's release, the active player base for Final Fantasy XIV has hit its highest mark in the game's six year history. Wow, this game has been out for six years already? I suppose it would be closer to 9 years if Square Enix didn't completely rework most of the game and relaunch it after its abysmal 2010 debut.

Shadowbringers brings a lot of hot new content to the table. Players will get to explore areas outside...

Remothered: Tormented Fathers Coming to Nintendo Switch

    Watch out Resident Evil.

Darril Arts and Stormind Games announced today that a Nintendo Switch release of Remothered: Tormented Fathers will conjure up some scares on July 26. The port of this survival horror title was done by DICO Co., Ltd. I legitimately have no idea if DICO Co. has handled any other ports, but they were mentioned by name in the press release. I assume it might be a familiar name for some of you out there. Maybe you know whether or not this is going to be a good port as a result of their work or not.

Whatever the case may be, we won't know how good...

  • Detroit: Become Human Subs in for PES 2019 for July's PS Plus Offering

Detroit: Become Human Subs in for PES 2019 for July's PS Plus Offering

    Sorry soccer fans.

Sony just made an interesting change to their PlayStation Plus "free" game lineup for July 2019. About a week ago we reported on what the initial games were going to be. Initially, Sony was giving PS Plus subscribers Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 and Horizon Chase Zero.

Well, it seems as though Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 is out and Detroit: Become Human is in. Horizon Chase Zero is still being offered as the second title. A reason for the swap was not made. If you don't yet know what Detroit: Become Human is, we have a bit more on it below. This...

  • Game Breaking Battlefield V Bugs Still Not Fixed

Game Breaking Battlefield V Bugs Still Not Fixed

No solid ETA on when they will be either.

If you have played Battlefield V from the beginning, you will probably agree that the game is fun but it's not without its flaws. In fact, it seems as though with every patch released for the game, there are almost as many new bugs added as there are ones that are squished in each patch.

The latest patch released for the game, which came about just last week, is no exception to that rule. First off, the beginning of Chapter 4 for Battlefield V's Tides of War multiplayer campaign was supposed to include the addition of a new map,...

Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade Named NBA 2K20 Cover Athletes

Time to shoot some hoops again.

The cover athletes for the various SKUs of NBA 2K20 were announced today. The upcoming release of the annual basketball game will feature not one but two different NBA stars. They are Anthony Davis and Dwyane Wade.

Davis is a six-time NBA All-Star, a three-time All-NBA First Team, an Olympic gold medalist, and a three-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Team. He will appear on the cover of the Standard and Deluxe Editions of NBA 2k20. Dwyane Wade is also an Olympic gold medalist, a 13-time NBA All-Star, and the 2006 NBA Finals MVP. Wade...

  • Pigeon Simulator Announced

    Pigeon Simulator Announced

    Viral hit becoming a game.

There was apparently a short gif released in June that showed off someone playing as a pigeon. I haven't seen it but apparently those that did kind of loved the idea. I suppose that's why game developer Kevin "KevKev" Suckert announced today that he is working on a full game based on the idea of being a pigeon.

It's called Pigeon Simulator and it will be published by Bossa Studios. You may recall Bossa from their work on Surgeon Simulator and I Am Bread. If ever there was a match made in heaven, it's Bossa and Pigeon Simulator. There...

Types of Jackpot Slots and How They Work

When it comes to winning slots, everybody already knows what they want - they want to win. However, it is not easy getting the gains that one longs for. It takes a lot of research, practice, and even some lost pennies.

With that, this article gets players set for the different kinds and everything else in between. Read on below to find out more about it.

What Are the Different Kinds Falling Under This Category?
The first thing that should get discussed is what are jackpot slots. They are online slot machines, or they could also be offline ones, that...

  • Remedy Now Controls the Alan Wake IP

Remedy Now Controls the Alan Wake IP

    Alan Wake teases more platforms.

Remedy Entertainment has regained the publishing rights to the Alan Wake franchise from Microsoft.

The development studio is currently working on Control, but they apparently found a bit of time to acquire the rights to the horror-action romp starring an author. The company told investors that they would earn €2.5 million on royalties for "previously released games" this fiscal year.

Alan Wake was released back in 2010 as an Xbox 360 exclusive title. The game focuses on an author as he tries to survive in the fictional...

Planet Explorer Devs Lose Multiplayer Code in Server Crash

    Make backups.

Planet Explorers is an older title from the same development studio that brought us the relaxing and enjoyable My Time at Portia. Planet Explorers came out in late 2016 from Pathea Games. It is an open-world sandbox RPG. It had the usual stuff that players have come to expect from open-world sandbox games. There were survival elements, combat, building, crafting, and the sort. The game's primary focus was a Story Mode that was a-ok for those seeking that sort of a single player experience.

However, the game also promised multiplayer and, for a time, it...

  • Review: The Sinking City (PC)

    Review: The Sinking City (PC)

    That sinking feeling.

Frogware's The Sinking City is perhaps the best love letter to Lovecraft that we have seen in quite some time, but that may not be saying much. This most direct competition to The Sinking City was 2018's Call of Cthulhu, which really failed to capitalize on any single gameplay aspect. The Sinking City, on the other hand, at least manages to excel in one or two key areas, even if it barely stays afloat in others.

The city of Oakmont is the main location for The Sinking City. The first thing you see upon arrival is dreariness. Well, that and a dead...

  • Halo: Reach Running on a PC in 4K and 60fps Looks Fantastic

Halo: Reach Running on a PC in 4K and 60fps Looks Fantastic

    It begins.

The first wave of invites have gone out to a very small group of individuals selected to test Halo: Reach on the PC. Those who have been selected will have access to a single mission in Halo: Reach from today until July 1.

When I say that it was a "small group" that was selected, I mean it. As in the vast majority of people who have signed up as a Halo Insider have not been selected. 343 Industries notes that they picked a handful of people that have "varying ranges of hardware and are using the Windows 10 operating system." They continue...
