Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Even...

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

  • Black Ops 4 - No Single Player Campaign; Battle Royale Mode and BattleNet Exclusive Confirmed

There are times where you don't actually want to believe some rumors. That's the case with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which just had its big reveal event much to the delight of Zombies, multiplayer, and battle royale fans. Sorry single player campaign fans, you aren't included in this celebration. That's right, Treyarch and Activision have officially killed off the single player campaign for Call of Duty. What's more is that they killed it off from the Black Ops series, which is arguably the best recent story arch the Call of Duty games have had going for it in quite some time. Instead, we have three different Zombies campaigns, the usual competitive multiplayer stuff, and a battle royale mode that we saw a total of 0 seconds of gameplay for today. Also, the PC release looks like it's exclusive to Battle.net with the port being han...

  • Second Major Patch Released Today for Chrono Trigger

Second Major Patch Released Today for Chrono Trigger

I just realized how amusing it is to write about a patch being released for Chrono Trigger. For a brief moment, I felt as though it was the mid-90s again and I was about to write up a story concerning a new patch for Chrono Trigger on the SNES. That's some weird, alternate reality stuff right there.

But alas, it's 2018 and I'm naturally talking about the PC release of Chrono Trigger. Today sees the release of the second major patch for the game, following the first major patch that restored the game's visuals to their former glory.

Today's patch includes the following updates:

  • Battlefield V Live Reveal on May 23

Battlefield V Live Reveal on May 23

Earlier today Battlefield V was officially announced. I mean, we kind of knew there was a new Battlefield game coming, though the name being confirmed as "Battlefield V" is noteworthy.

I say it's noteworthy because an earlier rumor said that the name would be Battlefield V, which has now been confirmed. The rumor also said that the game would take place during WWII. That has yet to be confirmed. However, given that the leaked image in the rumor utilizes the same color scheme as the official announcement, seen above, it does lend a fair bit of support to the WWII claim. Anyway, back to the news of the day. Though there isn't...

  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Announced

    S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Announced

It looks like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was announced today. All that was revealed today was the fact that it will eventually be a game but it won't be released until 2021. There's also a website for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 but it doesn't have much of anything on it. There is literally no other information released yet for the game. I feel as though it was announced this early because they want to spend the next three years torturing people like me with having to type the game's title out in each and every news post, headline, and tag. I sure can't wait to hear that iconic line in the sequel, "Get out of here Stalker... too....
