Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

Prepare for Fallout 76 to Not Be the Fallout You Want

Earlier today, Bethesda finally stopped their night of teasing and indeed provided a reveal for a new Fallout game!

Today, Bethesda announced Fallout 76. They released no information about the game in the slightest. All they officially provided to the world is an announcement trailer and some screen grabs from the trailer. You can see those all at the bottom.

It looks like the trailer was intentionally vague. That is perhaps for good reason because sources have told Kotaku that Fallout 76 is an online survival RPG. With how coy everything about this announcement has been, this isn't entirely unexpected. Fallout 76 is named after Vault 76, which has been me...

Valve Pulls School Shooting Simulator from Steam, Calls Developer a 'Troll'

Valve has called the developer of Active Shooter a "troll with a history of customer abuse." Active Shooter was slated to release on June 6 from developer Revived Games publisher ACID. It was a game that would allow players to experience a mass shooting from either the point of view of the shooter or the point of view of the SWAT team that was tasked with taking them down. As you may have already guessed, some people were rightfully pissed off about this. Thankfully Valve stepped in and have decided to pull the game from Steam. In addition, they have also removed Revived Games and ACID from Steam. I would like to believe that this would have happened regardless of ...

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr Delayed on Consoles

Last month, a release date of June 5 was set for Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As it turns out, that's not happening.

Neocore and Bigben have pushed back the release date from June 5 to "later this Summer."
Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is an ambitious action-RPG, with vast and complex mechanics. With such an immense gameplay experience - entirely redesigned for console players - the development studio, Neocore, will need additional time to perfect the game's unique functionalities, such as local multiplayer and procedural map generation. In order

STALKER 2 Announced Only to Find a Publisher

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was announced earlier this month, but it sounds like that announcement was made a bit too early. This is, of course, ignoring the fact that they announced a 2021 release date for the game here in 2018. The bigger issue here comes from a revelation shared today that STALKER 2 doesn't yet have a publisher. The early, some would say premature, announcement made this month was made in order to try to secure a publisher for the game. That is to say, STALKER 2 doesn't actually have a publisher yet despite the game being announced. Yikes. This is according to Epic Games's director of publishing Sergey Galyonkin. As of right now, the gam...

Battlefield V Women "Controversy" - DICE Tells Butthurt Men to Shut Up

Ever since the Battlefield V reveal a couple of days ago, a bunch of men ignorant of a little thing called history decided to express their ignorance in the best way possible: On social media. They don't seem to realize that women have played important roles in most wars throughout history and World War II is no exception.

Thankfully, DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson knows his stuff and he's someone who stands by his game. Gabrielson took to Twitter today to essentially tell the ignorant masses to shut up and stop being stupid.
Naturally, those same people that were huffing and puffing...
