New 'Experimental' Splinter Cell Game Confirmed by Ubisoft CEO

Open World? GAAS? Mobile? VR?

The emotional rollercoaster that fans of the Splinter Cell series has been on for the past few years has been never ending, has had no chill, and frankly, it's gotten to be a wee bit tiresome. In May of this year, a new Splinter Cell was apparently "confirmed" and then it was later revealed to just be a joke.

Last month, we again heard a rumor that a new Splinter Cell was actually in the works. However, that story from July says that Facebook is financing the game and that it will be a VR only title and exclusive to the Oculus...

Mojang Cancels 'Super Duper Graphics Pack' for Minecraft

Performance issues and engine difficulties were too much to overcome.

Sadly, Mojang announced today that they are cancelling the promised Super Duper Graphics Pack that was originally revealed at E3 2017. This visual overhaul was teased for the game during the annual industry trade show and fans were eager to check it out for themselves.

This was going to be an optional piece of DLC that brought a suite of visual improvements to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game without needing to mod it. Sure, a lot of the visual improvements have been done time and time again...

Call of Duty 2020 Rumored to Be Black Ops Reboot

Next stop: Reboot City.

This year, Call of Duty fans are getting a reboot of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title. Next year, fans may get a reboot of the Black Ops series. This is if the latest rumors are to be believed.

The 2020 Call of Duty will either be Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. The game will be set in the Cold War era and will also include the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

This all comes courtesy of YouTuber TheLongSensation via his Twitter account. While it may be easy to just write this off as some random person...

No Man's Sky Beyond Launch Trailer

Update arrives August 14.

A launch trailer for the massive Beyond update for No Man's Sky was released today by Hello Games. This update is said to be the "culmination of 12 months of work" on what was originally going to be three separate, large updates. Those three updates have been rolled into this massive update.

We already touched upon some of the new features and content coming to the game in our last post. The biggest addition, at least for PC and PlayStation VR owners, is the addition of full VR support for No Man's Sky. There are also some additional...

Solos Finally Coming to Apex Legends

But only for a limited time.

Apex Legends will finally allow introverts to play without worry starting on August 13. A Solos Mode will be introduced into the F2P battle royale game. So far, the game has only really allowed for three-man squads.

The addition of Solos Mode is the good news. The bad news is that this mode will only be added to the game for a limited time. This Solos Mode will run from August 13 through August 27 in Apex Legends. Best get your fill of it while you can, because who knows when or if it will come back afterwards. ...

  • Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 Remasters Coming to PlayStation 4

Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 Remasters Coming to PlayStation 4

Early this morning confirmations came out that Yakuza 3, Yakuza 4, and Yakuza 5 will all be given the remaster treatment and released on the PlayStation 4. Yakuza 3 will be released on August 9 alongside a code to download the soundtrack. Yakuza 4 will arrive later this Fall. Yakuza 5 will be released in Spring 2019. Now it's important to note here that all of these release dates are just for Japan along with the rest of Asia. Alongside the Japanese voice work, it will include Chinese and Korean localizations. With any luck, Sega will bring all of them to the West in a timely fashion. Given that these are all remasters, a lot of the translation heavy l...

#NewsBits - Look at all the Games Released Today. Wow.

It's late on a Tuesday and that probably means I slept through most of the day like a moron. Sleeping through Tuesdays is rather bad because that's when most of the game releases happen, unless you're Nintendo. Nintendo prefers Friday. Oddly enough, a number of publishers are starting to shift to Fridays as well, but most still do not. Which brings us back to my first point: My sleep schedule sucks.

Anyway, let's just get on to that news in the latest installment of CS-Nation's #NewsBits! They've been freshly harvested just for youCaribbean Crisis expansion for Armored Warfare was released today on the PlayStation 4. It adds the new "Special Operations" game mode, new maps, overhauls to older map, new commanders, new Trophies, visual changes, and gameplay changes. Armored Warfare is a F2P game available today on the PS4.

  • Epic Games to Provide $100 Million for Fortnite Esports Prize Pool Winnings in 2018

Epic Games really wants Fortnite to be the go-to game for esports in 2018. I mean they really want it to be a big thing, so much so that they're pumping $100 million worth of prize winnings into Fortnite tournaments throughout the 2018-2019 competitive season.

Specifics about how exactly this $100 million will be distributed have not been disclosed by Epic. However, the company has hinted that they're doing some unconventional things with that $100 million.

  • Battlefield V Teaser Points Towards WWII Setting

Battlefield V Teaser Points Towards WWII Setting

Earlier today, the official Battlefield Twitter account provided just a tiny little peak at Battlefield V. In the teaser, you see a few things. First and foremost, you see a man saying "shh" but you also see a bit of the game's HUD. The HUD seems like standard stuff for a Battlefield game. But what's that? Are those the flags for the British and German forces? Why yes, I do believe that is the case. Meaning that it's not going to be a Vietnam setting as some people have speculated over the previous few days and will instead be the WWII setting most others figured it would be. It also looks like Battlefield V will have...

  • The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset Launches to Early Access Today on PC and Mac

Though the official release date isn't set until June 5 for the PC, Mac, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, that hasn't stopped The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset from being released into Early Access today. That's right, starting right now, you can begin your adventures in Summerset Isle, a location not really seen since 1994's The Elder Scrolls Arena.

This update brings new areas to explore, new quests, the new Psijic Order Skill Line, and Jewelry Crafting. These are obviously also alongside new gear and other changes included in the title update 18.
By the decree of Queen Ayrenn, the secretive Summerset Isle is now open to foreigners

  • Resident Evil 7 Coming to Switch via Experimental Cloud Streaming

Resident Evil 7 Coming to Switch via Experimental Cloud Streaming

So the good news here is that Resident Evil 7 is coming to the Nintendo Switch! The bad news is that it's only coming out in Japan. The potentially worse newsis that it's only being made available as a cloud based streaming game. I suppose that's why they're actually calling it Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version there.

Resident Evil 7 Cloud Version seems to be the first streaming only game that has been announced for the Switch. The "download" for the game is just 45MB but you will obviously need to have a constant, strong connection to the Internet in order to actually play the game. There is no offline option available. Th...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Not Coming to Nintendo Switch

It seemed like 2018 would be the year that Call of Duty came to the Nintendo Switch but uh, I guess not. According to an interview Twinfinite conducted with Treyarch's Senior Producer Yale Miller and Gameplay Designer Matt Scronce, there are just no plans to bring Black Ops 4 to the Switch.
Hey, maybe they just didn't have enough time, you know? Maybe it got lost in the past three ...

  • Metro Exodus Delayed Until Early 2019

Metro Exodus Delayed Until Early 2019

We thought that Metro Exodus would be released in Q3 of 2018. We thought that because up until this week, that was factually correct. Alas, we must now wait until Q1 2019 to play the game. Let's find out just why that is.

Deep Silver provided a statement as to why the game was pushed back until next year.
The development of Metro Exodus is progressing well; we are all really excited by what we are seeing. We have been constantly reviewing the games progress to ensure that we deliver a product that gamers and fans of the Metro series want and deserve, as well as keeping an eye on announcements from our competitor products.
