PlayStation 5 Starting at $400, Launches Starting November 12

$400 for digital-only, $500 for the full system.

The next-gen is now fully in gear. With Microsoft announcing the price and release date of their Xbox Series X, the only piece of the puzzle that remained was what Sony would do with the PlayStation 5. Today, the company announced that the Digital Edition will retail for $399.99 (USD) while the "regular" version with a disc drive will retail for $499.99.

Both consoles are expected to launch in select countries...

EA Kills Off Origin

Origin to be replaced by more generic naming convention.

First, EA ditched their EA Access and Origin Access branding in favor of EA Play. This happened almost exactly one month ago in August 2020. Now, EA is ready to ditch their Origin desktop client with something a little more generic.

EA is changing the name of their Origin client to "EA Desktop." EA is calling their new app a "next-generation PC gaming platform."

This renaming will...

Review: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2

Feeling younger in my mind.

When you think of the heyday of Tony Hawk titles, you probably think back to the games prior to weird skateboard controllers and the abysmal Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5. You think back to a time in your childhood when you would turn on your old CRT television, power on the PlayStation, and digitally pull off some sick tricks while Goldfinger's Superman blasted in the background. The first couple of Tony Hawk games hold a special place in a lot of our hearts...

Tiananmen Square Footage Removed from Call of Duty Trailer

Activision bending the knee? What? No. Never!

The first trailer for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War was blocked in China and then later edited from every other region because it contained roughly one second of footage from the Tiananmen Square protests from 1989. This is when the Chinese government had a big uh "crackdown" on pro-democracy protesters. That is to say, they murdered the fuck out of their citizens, or made them "disappear," and attacked them with...

'Absolute Majority' of Metro Exodus Sales Were on Consoles

THQ Nordic founder tries to avoid talking about Epic Games Store sales figures.

Lars Wingefors, THQ Nordic's CEO and founder, seemed rather reserved when talking about the sales figures for some of THQ's most publicized releases this past year. Specifically, he shied away from talking specifics when it comes to PC sales of games like Metro Exodus and outright ignores another question regarding sales of Satisfactory.

A lot of this information came courtesy of the latest...

RuneScape Expanding with 'The Land Out of Time'

Get ready for a "Jurassic spark" this July.

That quip above is almost directly from the press release. It was just too good to pass up and I sure couldn't think of anything better. This July, RuneScape players will get to adventure in an all-new environment. The new area is called Anachronia and it's being called "The Land Out of Time."

    Can you guess why?

That's right, there will be dinosaurs! This land was pulled straight out of the past...

  • New Gameplay Trailer for The Sinking City

New Gameplay Trailer for The Sinking City

    Witness the madness.

A new gameplay trailer is out today for The Sinking City. As we've talked about already, The Sinking City is a game smothered in Cthulhu mythos and wrapped in plenty of detective focused action. It's being developed by Frogwares and published by Bigben. There was another gameplay video, released just this past month, that focused more on the investigation side of things.

The Sinking City is currently slated to be released on June 27 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store. ...

If you're still confused, maybe this will make it a bit easier to understand. You know how there is the bloated Facebook app for mobile phones? And you know how Facebook has a private messaging system that they...

  • PSA: Big PlayStation Store Sale is Live - Offers Double Discounts for Plus Subscribers

Some games can be had for up to 80% off.

Sony just kicked off a big double discount sale for a bunch of PlayStation 4 games, a decent amount of PlayStation 3 titles, and a handful of Vita games. I say that this is a "double discount" because that's what Sony is saying. There is already a sale price for non PlayStation Plus subscribers. But if you are a Plus subscriber, there is an additional discount on top.

This means that non-Plus subscribers can get up to...

  • Superhot VR Released on Oculus Quest

Superhot VR Released on Oculus Quest

Oh yeah, the Oculus Quest and Rift-S are out today too.

The Superhot team have released an Oculus Quest version of Superhot VR today. This new release goes hand in hand with today's release of the Oculus Quest. The team is calling this release the "definitive Superhot VR experience." As an owner of the regular Rift and Superhot VR, that kind of stings a bit to hear.

However, there is the fact that the Quest doesn't have any wires hanging off of it, nor does it...

Four Things to Consider Before Buying a Gaming Laptop

Gaming laptops, as the name implies, are not designed for everyday use. Most gaming laptops are going to offer more power and higher specs than what a person needs for working at an office or simply streaming videos from Netflix. When you look at the gaming laptop options that are available, it can be overwhelming. Gaming laptops are made by companies that have a stellar reputation, including Asus, MSI, HP, and Dell. Most of these companies do a great job in designing their laptops so that they...
