Xbox Series Consoles Outsold Nintendo and Sony in Q1 2022

Xbox is having a pretty great year so far.

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are the best-selling hardware for the first quarter of 2022 thus far, at least in terms of dollars made. This news comes to us from the latest NPD Group analysis that combined sales of the Series X and S not only topped the charts for March but for the entirety of Q1.

This is probably a bit surprising to hear given how well the PlayStation 5 started out 2022. Sony's latest was the best-selling...

Activision Promises Warzone 2 will Feature 'Groundbreaking Innovations'

Is the removal of microtransactions one of those? That'd be pretty groundbreaking for them.

Activision says that development on the follow-up to their still popular battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone, is "proceeding very well." They note that Warzone 2 will still be free-to-play...

Fans Aren't Happy with First Tiny Tina's Wonderlands DLC

On April 21, 2022 the first DLC drop for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands was released. It came alongside the rather substantial Update 1.0.2.0A that included a number of fixes, adjustments, weapon tweaks, and class balancing.

The downloadable content, named Coiled Captors, seems to be a little light on content. It does add in a new and replayable dungeon challenge along with a new boss encounter. Completion of this challenge adds in a handful of new arena designs for Tiny Tina's endgame Chaos...

That isn’t to say the larger market doesn’t still exist though, and the MMORPG genre is starting to thrive once more with growing player numbers,...

    May 2022's Hottest Game Releases

Though the bulk of the big video game releases in 2022 have already passed by, or will come to pass later this year, that doesn't mean there is a major shortage of games coming out during these "slow" months. In fact, May 2022 has several big games slated to be released across most every platform currently available on the market.

Hopefully there will be a little something here that strikes your fancy. If, by some stretch, none of these games entice you, then perhaps you may...

    Konami's Biggest Game Franchises

In a time long ago, Konami used to make some rather amazing video games. The Japan-based studio was founded back in 1969 as a jukebox rental and repair business. The company slowly entered into the creation and distribution of video games in the late 70s. A lot of Konami's earliest releases were done through arcades, but once home gaming consoles started to arrive, they made the jump in force.

Konami started out with a bang on systems such as the MSX, PC, NES, and more. They...

Full Cross-Play Finally Coming to Borderlands 3

Sony is finally allowing it to happen.

Last year, Gearbox revealed that full cross-play functionality for Borderlands 3 was ready to go. However, the studio had to pull the feature from PlayStation consoles because Sony, at the time, was very much against cross-play with other platforms.

Thankfully, Sony has learned how to take a chill pill and are allowing full cross-play for titles, including Borderlands 3. At PAX East, Gearbox announced that cross-play will arrive this...

    by Shawn Zipay
    It's AAAA vs WB.

March isn't even over yet and we've already seen a couple of stinkers come out from major gaming studios. While we tend to focus on the surprise hits or quality titles in these polls, this time it's a little bit different.
