Microsoft Confirms Free Online Multiplayer for Halo Infinite

Confirmed after a short bout as a rumor.

Microsoft confirmed the short-lived rumor that Halo Infinite would have free multiplayer. Not only that, but they also confirmed that Halo Infinite, at least the multiplayer component, will support 120fps on Xbox Series X. I'm sure that will also hold true for the PC release as well. Sorry Xbox One owners, you can't handle all those delicious frames. ...

Valve Cracks Down on Using VPNs to Buy Games Cheaper

This should hopefully lead to more fair regional pricing.

For several years now, users were able to make use of a loophole that allowed them to buy games for cheaper if purchased from certain regions. Users were able to trick Steam into thinking they lived in one region where a price of a game was more favorable to them due to exchange rates. This had the unfortunate side-effect of developers and publishers having to increase prices in these regions to put a stop to those using VPNs...

Metacritic Finally Does Away with Day One User Scores

Perhaps done in an effort to suppress user score review bombing.

According to a new report by Paul Tassi, via Forbes, Metacritic seems to be doing away with allowing users to submit scores on games until at least a day after release. Tassi notes that user scores for the just released Ghost of Tsushima only has critical scores posted for the game. The user scores are currently showing a message that user reviews will be permitted starting July 18 at 12PM (PT).

The message...

  • E3 2019 in Review

    E3 2019 in Review

The good, the bad, and the boring.

As June comes to an end, that typically only means one thing if you're a fan of games or gaming: E3 has once again come and gone. Typically, this is a time to look back on all of the amazing new reveals or take in details on the newest hardware announcements, but E3 2019 felt a bit different.

    What is E3?
For those who are somehow unaware of what E3 is, it stands for Electronic Entertainment Expo. As you can see each word begins...

  • Review: Judgment (PS4)

    Review: Judgment (PS4)

    The same, but different.

Sega, specifically the Yakuza team at Sega, are really damn good at what they do. The primarily Japanese developer has been on a roll with their stellar Yakuza-focused releases this generation that include Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2, and Yakuza 6. All of these titles have received high praise both from myself and from other media outlets these past few years.

It should then come as no surprise that the level of quality found in those...

My Friend Pedro is Out Now for PC and Switch

    This game is bananas.

Devolver Digital and developer DeadToast Entertainment are proud to announce that their over the top, martial arts filled, skateboarding, talking banana, action game called My Friend Pedro is now available. The game that blends all of those elements together with a healthy dose of shooting, platforming, and sick slow-mo moves is out now for the PC and the Nintendo Switch.

Seriously, the game looks like it's a ton of fun based on what I've seen so far. ...

The game features 13 playable fighters in addition to 31 "Support Knight" summon character assists. Well then, that's not exactly "1v1" then, is it, Million Arthur: Arcana Blood?

A new story for the game was overseen by author Kazuma Kamachi. Speaking of story, this one focuses on "Britain's...

A mobile release of the multiplayer title Dead by Daylight is apparently coming soon for iOS and Android. The news was confirmed today by Behaviour. They also note that the game will be free-to-play at release and is built from the ground up "to offer the best user experience and controls on mobile devices."

  • Bungie Details Big Changes Coming to Eververse in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

Bungie Details Big Changes Coming to Eververse in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

There are some good changes in store, Guardian.

When Destiny 2: Shadowkeep launches this Fall, Bungie is going to have made a ton of changes to some core mechanics in their space opera shooter. Among those changes will be a fairly drastic overhaul to Eververse and some of the currencies associated with that in-game store.

Eververse has been a small point of contention for Destiny fans ever since the first Destiny title. It is an in-game store that sells various items for...

  • Alpha Protocol Pulled from Steam

    Alpha Protocol Pulled from Steam

It may be a temporary thing.

The Steam store listing for Alpha Protocol was updated today. Instead of a normal store listing for the game, the page now says that Alpha Protocol has been pulled from sale on Steam at the request of the publisher. The publisher in this case being Sega.

It's not at all clear what is happening with the game to result in Sega halting sales. Typically when a game that has been released is suddenly pulled, it means one of a few things. Either...

  • DONTNOD's Twin Mirror Delayed Until 2020, Now Also an Epic Games Store Timed Exclusive

Timed exclusives on PC continue to be a fat load of BS.

Dontnod Entertainment, the studio behind games like Vampyr and Life is Strange, announced today that they have signed a partnership with Epic Games for Twin Mirror. You already know what that means. Yes, Twin Mirror is now going to be a one-year exclusive on the Epic Games Store.

The game was announced back at E3 2018. All that we've really seen about the game came during that show by way of a short teaser trailer...

  • Twitch is Suing Users that Posted Porn, Violence, Racism, and More to Artifact Section

The company says these users harmed their business.

In March 2019, a bunch of idiots got together and flooded the Artifact section on Twitch with all sorts of random content. This seemed to include everything from multiple hour loops of "Ayaya" to things like showing full copyrighted Hollywood films like Avengers: Endgame, full episodes of various copyrighted television shows like Malcolm in the Middle, a whole lot of uncensored hardcore porn like raw gachi (NSFW if you decide to search for it), to uncensored footage of the Christchurch mosque terror attack, and an assortment of videos full of extreme racism and misogyny.

In other words, it was a real shitshow. ...
